- So I think it has been long enough now for me to post the reaction to Spit It Out LIVE at Download 2009. Slipknot make some incredible songs and Spit It Out is definitely one of them. This performance though... This was insane. There were so many things going on that I didn't expect to see.
Here is my reaction to seeing and hearing Slipknot - Spit It Out Live at Download 2009 for the first time. I hope you enjoy it!

I still get choked up for a moment every time I hear Corey yell out, "JOEY! Let's take these motherfuckers home, man!" Jay was wonderful (even though it took me some getting used to), I'm sure Eloy will be phenomenal even if only based on technical mastery...but nobody can or will ever genuinely replace Joey, or even Paul. #1 & #2 - the maggots love and will miss you both forever. ❤🤘

I was at Download that year. Best band of the whole weekend was Faith No More on their comeback tour. (Mike Patton singing Poker Face as the introduction to their song Chinese Arithmatic is epic).Prodigy were really good too. Slipknot are always entertaining even though i'm not a huge fan.

I saw Slipknot for the first time @ OzzFest '99 on the side stage. Since then I have seen them AT LEAST 10X! You haven't lived until you experience the beautiful mayhem that happens on "The Floor" when they perform this song.🤘🏻🖤🤘🏻

One thing about Chuck Billy, who is the singer, is he is extremely diverse in how he sings. He can sing a ballad, he can sing thrash metal to the core, he can bust out dtraight metal in your face. When you buy a Testament album, you know exactly what you’re gonna get. Metal in your face!
Hopefully Practice what you preach live from the dark roots of thrash concert. Alex Skolnick is on fire with his solos there!

If you’re gonna do Slipknot live you should do stuff from their 2002 concert in London called Disaterpieces. Their live of People=Shit was violent and Slipknot at their rawest. This song is a Slipknot staple. Joey rolling his drums like that is a shout-out to Tommy Lee of Motley Crue who used to do some crazy acrobatics on his drums.

I was at this show, Download Festival takes place not far from Brum.
Shit was wild, got my ass kicked, kicked some ass, loved every second.
I've got to experience spit it out for the first time way back in 2000. Nobody knew what was coming back then.....it was the most violent release of energy I've ever experienced.....yup

I'm from Iowa, and this band being my home state band, from Des Moines, as a teen was insane.
The musicianship was always insane and got me into playing metal.
I would suggest Only One. Same album, and it's kinda rap blast lyrics on this level.

I think your view on live music is…..interesting. That may be the case for rap/hip-hop but for rock/grunge/metal the live shows are really where it’s at! The feeling, emotion, excitement, spontaneity is amazing.

Actually, one of the members is on record as calling albums informercials for the live shows. That statement makes me believe they intended to song to sound like it does live over that of how it sounds on the album.
I saw them about 5 years ago and korn opened for them,one hell of a concert

I've seen Slipknot in Birmingham a few times, but the best one was 2002 the show after the one they filmed Disasterpieces in London and the place went wild and tore all the seats to pieces and threw the covers into the crowd and Jim ended up wearing a seat cover on his head. Corey said they should have filmed their DVD in Birmingham instead.

These guys always put on a fantastic show, I've never seen somebody control a crowd like Corey does! Being beside thousands of other people jumping in unison while they absolutely destroy the place is a fantastic experience.
Somewhere around 150 concerts or more and being in a general admission crowd for that moment is still one of my absolute favorite times at a concert.
