Just hoping the vcarb can get their b spec rear wing fixed in time for the race. They had to run their previous spec rear wing with the new b spec upgrades for Spain and they certainly did not mesh well together 😂 hoping to get some positive results here and moving forward
There is still plenty of time for them to optimize the upgrades, but hopefully they work as intended. Spain was never going to be easy considering there high speed issue as of right now.
The track also has changes. They have put small gravel traps in the exits of the last two turns

8:16 I think McLaren have built the fastest car this year, but they’re not gonna win the constructors’ because they don’t have better drivers. McLaren have had the fastest car for 3 of the last 4 races, and they’ve won neither of them. I think it’s time they start questioning their faith in Norris.

But lando is not far off ,It wasn’t like he was in a dominant rb and lost an obv win . In Canada they lost cuz their adv was gone cuz of the sc (as they were fastest only in inters condition & third fastest in full dry ) . Imola max was as fast as lando was towards the start of the race, they neutralised each other with being quick during different segments. Monaco it’s hoping too much , to combine two different laps which they would need for pole( as for lando , he had his last run in Monaco bit compromised cuz of Sainz) . In Spain just got pinched in after getting pole in t1 , but drove brilliantly without any mistakes thereafter.

Lando if u wanna do statically is 4 years less experienced than max , He has his flaws but it aint like he is in a dominant car that he can win from any setback .The rb and mcl is still close ,seeing that the difference was the way the start sequence played out .Which can be improved just like back in 23 when max worked on improving his starts although it dint matter much for max back then with where rb were

It's very exciting to have 4 teams fighting for podiums and even the top step. I can't remember the last time we had four teams. As others have stated, i hope Aston gets back into the podium conversation. Alonso is one of my favorite drivers to watch drive a car that he can push hard.
This season is getting better as it progresses and we can all watch with excitement this season as opposed to hoping and looking forward to next season.
I think Vcarb should go back to what they had before Spain. They were a comfortable 6th and now they're and uncomfortable 9th.

It’s difficult to know how their old package would compare. Performance is all relative and the other teams have been upgrading their cars.
I think it’s very possible that they just didn’t understand the upgrades in the first weekend. Hopefully they can turn it back around this weekend. As a Yuki fan, the more VCARB and even Haas are competitive, the more fun it makes watching throughout the entire grid.

They need to fully understand what they have in front of them first, how to set-up the car, how to turn the tyres on. There's just so much, especially after spending months and 1000 of hours developing the upgrade package. It won't happen.

Austria is track I am expecting Ferrari to excel in because of their previous record there . Hopefully both their cars can get on podium and optimize their upgrade better to track that suit their characteristics of SF-24 . It is going to be wet throughout the weekend so should be interesting

I had the impression that riding kerbs in Austria was as important as in Imola, but nobody is talking about that, am I wrong?
It’s only select few corners so it won’t really impact the race
Red Bull seems to struggle predominantly on those big elevated curbs you sort of have to bounce your car over. Around Imola, we saw them in Variante Alte (corners 14 and 15). That's where McLaren had the advantage over the Red Bull. We also saw those kinds of curbs at the inside of corner 15 at the slow section where you go under that bridge with the highway in Miami, where Max went off in the race. Austria doesn't seem to have those kinds of curbs. You do have them at corner 3 in Austria, but you don't have to go over them to be fast as they’re a bit further from the racing line. In Miami and Imola you have to go over them to be fast...
Redbull is expected to ride curbs better in Austria and beyond.
Most corners taken are flat and rest u just nick it a bit .
Kerbs are only important at the first corner and the last corner in Austria and it’s arguable if the cars should really be taking much kerb at all on the inside in the last corner. It’s a complete non factor in Austria imo.

Any team that performed well in Spain should technically perform well everywhere if they kept their development up. Really excited for Austria especially since it's a sprint. A weekend where teams are not guaranteed to understand their car in just one practice.

I think more creators and f1 as a whole should talk about the bottom teams more. I’m a sauber fan and it gets basically no coverage. Only when talking about its pitstop issue, random bottas ads or sainz. I’d watch your videos more if you’d talk about the sauber and what’s its missing

There's only 1 big braking zone in Austria, how is it simillar (Except for the 3 straights) to Canada to you?
But I think only McLaren has caught up to redbull, the others are still a bit off. Spain showed Max was 18+ seconds ahead of Lewis in merc and 22+ on Ferrari.
Thank you Mr. Wick for pointing out that Mclaren is the fastest car on the track currently. Most still want to claim the new RB20 is the same dominant car that the RB19 was and act like Max isn’t the equalizer on the track.

It’s the fastest but not clear fastest like redbull used to be . It’s within the same tenth , with Austria being a sprint and the gaps being close it depends on who will do well with the setup

I'm expecting a Lando win here. The RB20's biggest advantage is very high speed corners which there isnt enough of, and Mclaren has been known to be fast around here, and Lando loves this track. I think Lando wins with less than 5 seconds ahead of Max

If they get their next upgrade package right like they usually do. They may very well start dominating races.
Even though Mercedes was quick in Canada I feel like they will be slow as they still have rear instability.
Ferrari will be behind McLaren redbull as they are not as quick in the medium high speed like McLaren will be but it’s a short track that’s hard to overtake and anything can happen if someone puts in a perfect lap from the top 4 teams.
I think Ferrari can perform well here and they have improved their medium to high speed a lot

Easy to say when you are not an engineer. Neway was the only among the chief technical director that had worked when their was ground effect cars. Many things we know now, like importance of suspension and proposing etc, were not that known at the time. In hindsight it is easy to criticize.

@@F1Unchained I’m “New” to F1, literally started watching same time Lando joined (2019), and even in that time they have had ups and downs, but there is something about them that I just cant help but support. Plus they probably have the best lineup on the grid, since Red Bull/Max being dragged down by Perez at the moment.

The best upgrade coming to Austria are the upgrades to Austria itself! They added strips of gravel outside the kerbs of the worst offender corners. So if you drop a wheel over the kerb, you're going to lose time. But there's still runoff in case you go off big.
