I've been using a lot of CHORD SAMPLES in my Beatmaker 3 shenanigans lately.... Here's one way you can make some chord samples of your own.

iDevices ► iPad Air 2 (I have two, both were purchased refurbished on Ebay), iPad MINI 2, OLD iPhone 4s running iOS 9.3.5 (the old iPhone can still run Novation Blocswave and Novation Launchpad! I also use it for playing back random field recordings, speeches, nature ambiences and general weirdness during my live jam sessions)

Why do you convert midi to wave samples ? Why not use midi instead ?
Personal workflow. Some people work all in midi, some people work all in audio. Over the years, i've personally found it much more beneficial for me to work with audio more than midi.
Why you use the harmonic scale? :D well you can do it, but the chords in the paper are intended to be the natural chords... I think
What size IPad are you using in this video?

I recently upgraded to a new iPad Pro which is pretty awesome, but the AIR 2 definitely works for music still! :)
Why does Beatmaker 3 not remember what plug-in synth I had loaded on a track? I always have to re-connect, for example, Sunrizer and find the patch used for the recorded track every time I re-open the project.

I personally don't save projects with Synths in them.
I render the synths to audio, and then load that audio onto a pad in the sampler mostly.

if Layr was an AU, you could use it on 4 pads with a different chord on each. You would prob need an Ipad Pro because of need for resources for 4 instances.

I actually have surprisingly few synths on my iPads because i'm mostly using hardware synths these days, so my answer will likely be pretty boring. lol
But it would have to be Synthmaster One as my go to iOS synth.
I also sometimes use the Audiokit Synth One.

I am still moving houses and so EXHAUSTED... 😵😵😵 The MONSTER TABLE (that i'm going to build my new studio space around) is scheduled to arrive tomorrow - I am SUPER EXCITED!!
Everything is taking me sooooooo much longer than I expected to get through this move and settled into our new place.
I am so tired of all this moving and I am beyond pumped to get the new studio space set up so I can make music, samples and videos again!

Hi, good video. Is there a way to create your own instruments from samples? If for example you've got a C5 piano sample, can you play all chromatic sounds from this sample?

All you have to do is assign the ROOT NOTE of the sample in the MAPPING tab of the sampler. Raise the polyphony to around 12-16 instead of 1, then put the bank into KEYS MODE and play that piano! Beautiful sounds by the way. But a faster method can be accomplished using Reslice and ChordPolyPad or Chordmaps now. I highly recommend you get Reslice. I've made a couple of tutorials using it so far.

My sound always sounds different/ distorted as soon as I play something inside of beatmaker how do I get the plugins right to have the proper sound inside of BM3?
Hey Hey! Keep your levels (volume) on the mixer low enough so that no tracks are "clipping" (hitting louder than 0.0 db)
When you insert a new instrument, the first thing you want to do is make sure the level is not clipping in the mixer.
Some instruments are louder than others, mixing is an artform that takes years to get good at imho -
A limiter on the master bus is good and helpful too, but you still need to not drive your individual track levels too hard.

Thank you Dean. Too bad chords are not recorded directly in midi. I think you could have gone quicker if you had recorded the chords in the plugin window with the included sampling recorder by selecting destination pads for each chord ;) in that way it is recording as soon as you get some sound, and this avoid long trimming session
Thanks, man! 👊 Yeah, I actually did try recording it that way, but for some reason it wasn't working for me as expected today, so I moved on with another way... Which I think is actually a useful way to record anything in real-time from a synth in BM3, not just chords :)
Hey Dean! Can you using the Beatmaker 3 with SampleTank in multitimbral mode?
Artificial Intelligence in Home LalaSoft Sorry buddy I do not have sample tank so I’m not really sure, But to be honest with you I am guessing that it will not work in multitimbral mode in BM3. I would just record the things you need out of it individually and use that stuff as audio inside of BM3. ☺️👊👊
