- "The Treasure" by Eça de Queiroz (Eça de Queirós, in modern spelling) was originally published in 1894 in the "News-Gazette."
Eça de Queiroz (1845-1900) is one of the most important Portuguese writers.

Hi! I'm glad you enjoyed it! This video has subtitles. You can activate the subtitles and follow the narration. Beware this book is old and the grammar is not the currently used in modern Portuguese. This story (and others) is also available in www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/31347

I am brazilian and I think The portuguese we speak here sounds ver diferent from european portuguese but I myself dont notice such big difference the way it is spoken at african countries... I myself cant say if it is from Portugal, Cabo Verde ou Moçambique... but it is ver different in Brazil ... and inside Brazil there só many differences depending the region ... it is a very large country ... but portuguese is a very beautiful language... ❤️
