You’re right, it’s an aftermarket tail tidy…the OEM plastic “diving board” is awful. The headers are also not OEM. Those appear to be catless akra headers…nice The extra key is a torx key to remove the pillion seat with. Get a tail hump, looks so much nicer in my opinion. That bars are that height from factory, no risers on yours. Mileage is fine, these motors have covered continents in the GS. Bulletproof. First thing I did was to remove the baffles 😉

Im on my third R NineT, but my current one is a Option 719 Classic Aluminium. i always fit a hugger or a rear suspension sock to protect the rear suspension. and to keep the whole R NineT tidy it gets the ACF treatment
Unfortunately there are so many to choose from, the prices for the early ones like this has fallen a fair bit now. But who cares, it's still stunning to look at, and a lot of fun to ride 😁
Nice bike but BMW bikes don't really do anything for me. I watched several reviews of these when they first came out and all mentioned vibes through the bars and foot pegs plus a very noticeable rock side to side when you rev the bike's engine. BMW bikes seem to suffer from vibes. I rode an S1000R which I had to get off after 15-20 minutes owing to the buzz through the handle bars. Shame as I loved the look of that bike. Irrespective of what the dealer you bought it from has told you, I believe they have to give you at least 3 months. Simply declaring that it is a personal sale is not good enough. I hope you paid some or all of it on your credit card as then you can rely on s.75 of the Consumer Credit Act to enforce your statutory rights if there is a problem with it. You need to do some weeding.
The S1000 bikes are totally different to the "Boxer Engines" I've heard pretty terrible stories on the S1000XR regarding high vibes, but the Boxer engines make much more of a rumble, I've had 3 bikes with this engine, and never really suffered from vibes? these particular bikes are amazing to ride 😁

I did consider getting the R+G shock cover, but haven't gotten around to it yet, ACF is a must 😁
