Compliments for your creations. I mostly admire the fact that you use the machines you created to cut, weld, drill holes and bend metal parts to create other machines you'll use. Keep it up ;)
Ladies and Gentle Men. Words can not express the level of skills that this man has showed. He has figured out how to build a shop. That tools that he needs he can build his self. And he knows what the metal is. And he knows that it not cheap metal. I stand up and give you a great big chap of ✋ ✋ hands. Great content keep up the great work. Real Talk 101 !!!!!
What a beautiful piece of work. That bandsaw is far better than any commercial unit one could buy. Magnificent build by a man with exceptional skills. Great video to watch.
I was thinking the same as I watched it come together. I guess this is what you do when nothing at the store meets your high standards. That bandsaw could end up in a museum after hundreds of years of continuous use, and future peoples would have an inflated sense of our craftsmanship in this era.
1:13 Hands of steal... My shop teacher always used to say "careful it's heavy..." and after we burnt our hands and dropped it he would say "told you it was heavy" Dude smokes of a layer of skin and doesn't skip a beat! One of the best scratch builds I have ever seen anywhere!
This is a marvel of Mechanical Engineering. Your skills, plan, execution, and design all are of highly engineering knowledge. What a beautiful project and well done. I don't know how to put a better comment than that. I am wordless. Thank you for sharing and I did like your video. I am a doctor but like to watch mechanical project like this. It reminds me of my childhood when I used to watch lathe machining and mechanical work in our town at that time I was 9 years old and now I am 39 yrs. I love to see rusty steel cut into pieces and then turns into shining metal. The cutting is so cool like cutting a birthday cake. I love it.
I really like it! I told my wife if I had the bearings I could do that. You know what she did, she went and found them online. I now have my next project. I’m a lucky dude. Thanks Ron
One thing i love about building power tools like one you built is that you can maintain it and fix it easily and there is not unnecesary electronics inside just good old electromotor and safety on/off switch. Keep up good work.
Great work! Nice to see you used a proper ball bearing race mounted on it's edge for the back of the band saw blade to run up against. Many cheap band saws just have the band saw blade continuously scuffing on the side of a ball bearing outer race to give back support.
You have a lot to be proud of. That’s one of the most amazing videos I have ever seen on UA-cam. Your fabrication and engineering skill is remarkable. Thanks for making the video
best i am deeply impressed that you can design and build something so beautiful yourself. I have an old korean bandsaw with a cast iron arm, I can't even mount it squarely so I can't saw straight from top to bottom. deep respect for your beautiful bandsaw
I agree. Either he has stacks of CAD files of mechanical drawings for each segment or he used an existing machine's measurements to produce his heavy-duty rendition. I doubt he was "guesstimating" that much!....but maybe.
Thank you :) Come to Poland :) I dream of a trip to the USA to see everything live but in these times of pandemic it becomes more and more unattainable :(
Your videos are sensational, I'm an industrial designer and system developer, I work more as a developer than a designer, but in my spare time I'm manufacturing my CNC Router, to open a company and act more as a designer. I have no experience with soldering, I see this machine you are using it seems to be super simple, there is this model of machine here in Brazil.... I will definitely want to make my tube cutter as well.
Bravo !
I watched this build a year ago and it just came back up in my pull-pile. It's bided on my mind all year. I believe I'll gather up the stuff and add it's distinctiveness to my hobby-shop. (It'll beat trying to cut stuff straight and square with a Spede-Cut disk.) THANK YOU

That was amazing to watch. I was trying to imagine what the drawings would look like for those blade guides you made, too much for my simple head though. Big thumbs up.
Thank you :) In some projects I try to limit the use of tools that not everyone has in the workshop, so that the project could be easier to do for a viewer who does not have too many tools. I could do many things on machines, e.g. milling longitudinal holes, or turning wheels for a metal band saw , but I decided to limit the use of machines for this project :)
True.. even old electric hacksaw machines have coolant.. if it has coolant its the same machine as we have at my work.. love the hydraulics on bandsaws nice work that you added that
Good day! I hope a person like you has students, because such an experience as yours must be passed on to the next generation! After watching your videos, I understand that I don't know how to do anything.
As an additional bonus to it you could swing it to vertical and make a table with a slot for blade in it and one leg to tighten into vise. Then you could freehand some part cutting.
Lovely bit of kit,and a saw like that is just so useful, just a not when drilling, if you lift off as the swarf gets to about an inch, just enough to take the cutting face away from the work you don't end up with long and potentially dangerous cuttings, you can't do this with stainless steel, but aluminium and mild steel are fine.
To m.i. ;)
I think the most important link you omitted is to where to buy the motor or the right angle gear compartment in front of it which is the heart of the bandsaw.
Always nice builds :) Been considering doing similar as i have been looking for old cast one but every time i find one there's some bullshit and falls through or its not cast. Keep up the hard work as i like to dream

Really amazing and incredible high quality made metal band saw. For guy which has made it only highest respect.
Outstanding build and design! One of the best I've seen in fabrications from scratch. Thank you for sharing your talent, skills and passion!
Welding is the hardest.
The rest he made easy and self explanatory.
The rate at which he ran through thr project is what is fascinating 👏

Lavoro fantastico!
