the name "Hypa Hypa" is a reference to "Hyper Hyper" a german edm classic by Scooter.
There are seven Hypa Hypa covers which EC made in collaboration with various german artists during the pandemic. You should check some of them out. My personal favorites are by Saltatio Mortis and We Butter The Bread With Butter (WBTBWB)

This was our Lockdown Medicine back in the days. Everyone was down and sad cause everything was closed. Then, one day, this came out and we had soo much fun again. Great times. And after that. They delivered one after another banger.
Oh guys, i only discovered EC a few days ago myself. Havent been able to stop listening to them since and i just bought myself a weekend ticket to Download Festival, UK specifically to see them. Its going to be wild 😜! Definitely check out Teckno Train next.

Flew from Calgary to Seattle to take my wife to see them back in August and it was honestly one of the best shows we've been too. Guys are incredible showmen and we can't wait to see them again!

"We got the moves" is their anthem, but the insanity that we witness in "Hypa Hypa" is totally incomparable 🤣
And they are amazing live! I've just been with my two teenage sons to their concert few weeks ago, we had wigs and moustaches, the concert was such a wild party that even Rammstein concert in feuerzone was topped by this amazing experience ❤I've never seen so many cheerful people at one place! I'm definitely going to their concert - this time I had to drive through two countries to get there, but it was definitely worth it! 😎

I love your sense of humor, I knew you would love these guys. All their songs are epic, even some amazing serious songs like “parasite “ and “mindreader” you will love everything they do. Fun fact: there are multiple different versions of Hypa Hypa, they invited other German bands to collab with them and cover the song in different genres…. I think there are seven but I’m not entirely sure off the top of my head. Each one has something new to offer and the cover of WBTBWB (We butter the bread with butter) is pure comedy.
The band in Lockdown did various collaborations with other artists. They are all different again. You should watch them.
I love how they slowly blend the genres together. It starts electronic, hits metal, next blends them some, then it's all together in the end.

Now you've seen this one, check out the 'We Butter The Bread With Butter Vs Electric Callboy' version of this...... It is 'different' but you will definitely love it. Once you've done that - Tekkno Train, Pump It, Spaceman, MC Thunder II (Dancing Like A Ninja), Everytime We Touch and Castrop X Spandau by Electric Callboy and Kalle Kochinsky (the guy in the middle of the 'dancers' on this one - who is also in a few other EC videos, including Arrow Of Love), in any order you want. You will not be disappointed.....(unlike some of those on the Tekkno Train when it arrives a bit early....).

There are a lot of versions of this song out there… this is the original, but a lot of famous bands did a version of „Hypa Hypa“ together with Electric Callboy. Try Saltatio Mortis with Electric Callboy… ‼️🏆👍

they are long vids but worth the watch, tankthetech is a youtuber/mini reactor and he is apart of electric callboys staff for their tour. He has some vlogs on the tour its AWEOMSE to see what happens in the back and how cool the band is. If you dont wanna react to those long vids, atleast watch them on your own time.

You should definitely go and see them live! Their live concerts are absolutely amazing and you‘ll have the time of your life. Have been to three concerts in Europe so far (Oberhausen, Basel, Stuttgart) and everytime the fans almost tore the concert hall down because we all partied so hard.
Besides bringing so much fun they are amazing musicians, check out mindreader for example. Can‘t wait for their new album.

saw them live here in australia last year , my fave band JINJER also were on the bill, both were amazing.
Please do Hypa Hypa Live in Cologne Lanxess Arena 2023 Tekkno Tour or (and 😉) We Got The Moves Live in Denver, CO US Tour 2023).
They do have some more serious songs too, like Hate/Love (follow up single to Hypa Hypa), Mindreader, Parasite (video is made of live footage over the studio audio) or Fckboi feat. Conquer Divide (CD is an all female, US based multi national metalcore band).
And for another German fun metal band, but in a completely different style, have a look at Feuerschwanz (Fire Tail, pronounced foy-air-shvantz) and their cover of ABBA's Gimme Gimme Gimme.
They are a blast live, as you might guess!
Anything after Hypa Hypa rocks. But you have to do MC Thunder 1 and 2 as a double feature. Then a few extras would be Crystals, all the Hypa Hypa versions, and any live performance.

Fun fact about Electric Callboy: The drummer, David Friedrich, won the German version of The Bachelorette in 2017. They aren't together anymore, though.

ECB are from Germany, many of the their after show videos and 'Making of' are part English and part German. They also have a couple of more serious tracks: Parasite and Mindreader, which are also brilliant (IMO). But for more fun tracks (and videos) Tekkno Train, Pump It, Arrow of Love, We Got the Moves, and a cover song, Everytime We Touch to name a few. They do have quite a few live videos as well - they are pretty good live ... full energy, and pretty true to the originals - they often dress up in the video outfits!!!

Since they´ve got a few songs where they sing in German I´m always happy that most Germans speak or at least understand English as well. So we can sing along in both languages.🤗

Now we have two new members to the EC Family 😊 loved your reaction, EC never disappoints with their music and videos but they are live equaly awesome. I saw them live in Nürnberg a few weeks ago and ha dthe chance to meet them at their tekkno live movie premiere in Essen last week. They are not just freakn talented but also such humble and down to earth people. ❤ You should go down this rabbit hole for sure. Also not just party core metall to discover from these guys. Songs like Mindreader, Parasite, Hate/love or Crystals (with the old singer Sushi) are absolute bangers too. I highly recomment to react to some acoustic stuff from them too (Prism for example) . But if you want to ride along the party road at first I recomment Pump It, Tekkno Train, Spaceman and Everytime we touch next. Have fun! 🎉

I wanted to quote a comment I saw on another reaction because I've not seen a better breakdown of the culture of the video anywhere else and it really brings some very nice context. Full credit to @TrangleC for sharing this info.
"The aesthetics of the video are impossible to really understand for people who know nothing about Germany in the 90s.
Back in the late 80s and early 90s the German coal and steel industries went belly up and hundreds of thousands of working class dudes who had thought they would be working in those industries like their fathers and grandfathers had, found themselves without much perspective.
That kind of created a whole generation of "peaked in high school"-type dudes who couldn't let go of their youth in the 80s and were still running around like that (mullets, handlebar mustaches aso.) till way into the 90s, long after that had stopped being fashionable.
So in the 90s (when the guys in that band were kids) you had all those 30 to 40 year old, beer guzzling working class blokes hanging around techno rave parties and dance clubs, looking like time travelers from the 80s and trying to pick up chicks half their age.
That is what this song and the video are making fun of and that is why it makes sense that the video mixes tropes from the 80s and 90s (Boy Band music, techno, aso.) and why the dudes look like from the 80s while the chick looks like a 90s raver girl."
