A bit harsh about the Indian team. They were improving. Lara I'd say was more of a lone warrior.

I think this is the inning Sheripa was talking about. He was like u must be insane charging up to a fast bowler like bishop with those dole shole n all. Shows the true greatness of this champion.
The little master in magical form, he even played the beamer well ! Absolutely superb
When batsmen scared of facing west indies bowlers to play, Little master played by stepping out in that era which makes him different among others players.
Hitting Ion Bishop walking down the wicket ... absolute divine.
You should check some of Kim Hughes highlights. He would occasionally charge the fastest bowlers in the world with a slashing cover drive or loft over midwicked. That was with the bats of the 70s.
What class..both the batsman and bowler..Great contest...Thankyou for posting this. Recall those halcyon cricket days.
That was the ear of best bowlers vs Sachin Tendulkar.
1:09 the 'REAL PIONEER' of dancing down the track.....
Crazy how close Bishop came to the stump while bowling. Almost comes from behind the umpire.
Holding, Bishop and now Archer, smooth machines
Walsh too
Many more in the list

Charging against incoming offside good length delivery! My god then slanting one more on off side hill! 😮😊. Remarkable days. Ian bishop is one of the Great as well. Both bishop and Ravi went to commentate so much after this together!!! Don’t forget that!
That's why sachin is God of cricket
fearsome balling lineup those days and this kind of hitting stuff...
No one can match in this era....
He always answered with the bat... never blabbering in the bowler's face... God for many reasons, not just stats.
He's not a God. He is a very good batsman. I'd have him in the top 20 batsman of all time, possibly even top 10. That's the ultimate compliment. No order... Bradman Chappell G. Miandad. B Richards. V Richards Pollock Ponting. Lara. Kallis. Sobers... then you have all the pre war ones.
@@BDub2024Bradman played English farmers. But he was a great batsman
Hear this episode from Sidhu explaining how Sachin used attitude to hit the bowlers in West Indies. Truely master class.
There can never be another Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar. Today, pitches have become batting friendly and bats have become thicker . You just cannot compare the level of bowling he has demolished that too through poor umpiring without DRS.
GOD , GOAT, LEGEND -All in one
He rode the beamer played with straight bat off the back foot. The ball went straight to the ground. Amazing
You can see the influence he had on players like Sehwag in those shots. Masterful stuff.
That's the reason, he is cricket God
Against westindies
Against Bishop
In deadly pitch
That He played shots hitting like in gully cricket
I would have liked to seem him terrorised by Lillee and Thommo. They were the most fearsome duo in the world. Robert Holding Garner and Croft was a great combo too.
The second boundary sachin hit of bishop is extraordinary because he stepped out of the crease even before the ball was released from bishop's arm. It's really amazing how he could judge the kength of the delivery. Truely a legend.
When you realise Ravi shastri was still in commentary that time 😲
What a great bowling action Ian Bishop
I would like Ian Bishop to do commentary on these four 4s like he did for four 6s by Carlos Brathwaite. Remember the name.... He would shout.
that wills logo gives me nostalgic feel
How long is Ravi Shastri doing commentary?! Ian Bishop himself has been a commentator for a long time now.
He was pretty aggressive batsman, no doubt.

So. Where in India are you from and why do you have to try and 'insult' (ha!) the bowler, Ian Bishop? Not necessary and it just makes you look childish and angry.
Sri Lanka kind of start commentators said how dangerous srikanta at that time

Today's gen must see this. The bowler is the most fearless and feared bowler of all time and he not only faced him in his early career but he played superbly against him.
That's why not even 100 Kohli, Babar and smith would come close to him.
If one can see the scorecard, the bouncers were bowled not consequtively. Boundaries were also not scored consequtively. In between the runs there are 1 run differences. No doubt about Sachin's talent and his records.
Words from the commentator - "This is SriLanka kind of stuff from the Indian skipper" wow that was perfect coz it was SriLanka - Jayasuriya the Legend who showed world cricket how to play attacking from the begining of an inning..
The player of the millenium sachin❤

Nope. That would be Donald Bradman. Let me take a wild guess, princess - you're indian, right?
*LOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!!!!*
One would get a glimpse of how he would have faced Jofra Archer. Watching Bishop bowl like that felt similar to Jofra. Just audacious to go down the track to a fast bowler like Bishop in tricky conditions. How many batter then or now can confidently do that to a fast bowler?
Girish Jamsandekar
Many many batsmen in the modern game do this. Just stop being a professional indian and jacking off to Tendulkar.

How many use their feet to Archer or Bumrah and hit them like spinner .

You clearly don't watch modern day batsman playing T20 cricket. What they can do to all bowlers is remarkable. The game has changed a great deal in this regard since 1996 when this video clip took place.
Let newcomers understand that this is not a test match but a one day international. Red ball was used in odi cricket

Dude.
Test match batting was so easy back in the days.
In 2000s every team especially subcontinent teams prepared dead highway pitches.
It was far easier to score in Tests in 2000s.
Since 2015 Test match batting has got extremely difficult.
Teams started preparing rank turners in subcontinent and extremely swing pitches in England.
In past era most tests were dull draws and batsman scored big centuries in dull pitches.
Now tests dont even last 4 days to bowler friendly pitches.
Test matches average of 45 in this era = 55 in past era.
Came here after watching Siddhu interview to Shekhar Gupta 😊

That's a pretty good, objective all-time great list for the modern game, though I think Labuschagne, Kane Williamson, Younis Khan, Steve Smith, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Mohammad Yousuf, Dravid, Gavaskar and Sangakara all deserve to be there. And as you say, it doesn't even factor pre war players like Dennis Compton, Wally Hammond, Ken Barrington, Weekes & Walcott (post war) Victor Trumper, Len Hutton, George Headley and Herbert Sutcliffe (to name but a few).
Little master 🙏👍❤️
The more fierce is the bowling, more fierce will be his batting.
He is Sachin Tendulkar
& this is why you can't compare one generational (Sachin) player to another (VK).....
Beautiful batting 👍😍

It is interesting to see how Sachin got hit high on the elbow in the second delivery while playing on the front foot. The next delivery he immediately got away from his front foot press and just shuffled across.
Coming down the track to bishop...that's what shows his quality
Ans the ball was going for the stumps.
Even at that time shastri doing commentary
Greatest commentator vs greatest batsman
I say Sachin is the best than Kohli and current generation cricketers based on the bowlers he faced and no power play conditions then.
Whole world knows that bro.. sachin is best of all time.. forget about current players.. they are not even close to sachin
Powerplay was in existence from 1996 it was called as fielding restrictions back then.
The term Powerplay was introduced in 2005.
So wrong concet
Ravi Shastri like Harsha Bhogle, in the commentary box since the Stone Age
Dravid, Ponting, Kallis, Shehwag(Twice 300+) also played those monster bowlers.
Go back further to the 70s and 80s in Australia. Especially after 1978 when the Windies came almost every year and terrorised Aussie batsman with four quicks. Australia would also sometimes play four pacemen too as the pitches would have so much pace and bounce. That is a stronger era for cricket. Aust Eng Windies were really strong. Pak good too and even they'd give us some curry. Though we have their batsmen a bit of chin music.
Nah, none of them played those late 80s early 90s monster bowlers. Especially shehwag, he played in a era where the bowlers were less intimidating than these early 90s bowlers.
Franklyn Rose also bowled well during this series.

You will never get such pitches now days that is why Sunny Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Gandapa Vishwanath and Viru Shewag are the top 5 greatest batsman from India
well said... 👌
Wrongly said.
In Test matches pitches in 2000s was dead as highway.
Especially in subcontinent Test match pitches were nothing but roads.
All the team played for dead draws in Tests in 2000s.
In last decade test batting got really really difficult.
Mainly because teams started prepararing rank turners in subcontinent and extremely swing pitches in overseas.
Matches get over in 3 days in this era.
While batsman played 5 days of high scoring dull matches in previous era.
If playing in difficult pitches is the criteria to judge caliber
(Which I dont think and opposes you)
Then Ajinkya Rahanae is better than Sachin becuase sachin played test in flat highway subcontinent pitches in 2000s which was made for draws.
While players of modern era is playing in rank turners and extreme swing pitches in Test.
