Talking about the Ghost's crew made me think of one thing, how will Cham Syndulla, Hera's father, react to the facts that a Jedi knocked his daughter up and now that he has a grandson?
When I started watching I was extremly sceptical, because I had heard mostly bad things, but I was positivly surprised. I never got quite as good as Clone Wars at its best, but very good still. That would make for a fun mini-series, a bb unit, ewok, and jawa or ugnaught or all three living in a modified y-wing keeping it flying, keeping each other alive and on the run from some rich mando kids practicing their bounty hunting skills by catching the y-wing and crew for selling.

The reason why the ghost feels so good is the earthly feel, I could see some of the interior shots be from a new module for the ISS after some re-painting, the pancake-like appearance also gives it a more plane-like feel. The pancake shape also makes it seem beefy and nigh-indestructible while looking quite nimble probably because of the aforementioned plane-like attribute.
9th smart feature: Plot reserves, as a hero ship it carried a disproportionately high amount of plot reserves. These could be rerouted to armour, shields, engines and even materialised into essential equipment and ship modifications (unless an episode required a reason for an away mission). I love rebels, it was such a great show :)
I loved the Ghost immediately, it’s unique but not flashy, and it’s design is incredibly practical, with the interior crew area being decently laid out, and having four separate crew cabins, despite it’s small size. Of course it’s weapon layout is very good and the multiply turrets have overlapping fields of fire, although I do wish it had one more turret on the underside to provide anti Starfighter coverage the only blind stop. Additionally the small but pretty well armed shuttle, and of course it’s sensor damping systems is a great benefit if your using it to fight against the empire, or even if you simply wanted to avoid getting arrested by imperial forces.
I love hero, or hub, ships. These are the ships that allow our plucky crew to get around, and often become a character in their own right (I am looking at you, Serenity).
The YT-1300's design may not seem "efficient", but it was necessary. Unlike the Ghost, the 1300's had a massive gun-well right in the center of the ship. That rules out straight line travel right off the bat. Having the Main Corridor be a circle around that gun-well not only makes sense, but allows access to every part of the ship from a single corridor, rather than having a T design that eats up space. And the cockpit had to be offset, as the design of the 1300's had them locking onto cargo containers with the center line forward mandibles, so putting a cockpit there was just slightly less than impossible.
The modularity of the 1300 series is insane as well. If you don't like the layout and enough money for one fresh out of the factory you could redesing it with a multitude of layouts, modules and parts. Like the cockpit in the middle, on the left or right? No problem! There even is a midship cockpit section that the YV-929 heavily armed light freighter is based on. And while I can't find the source again, I once read somewhere that it would be possible to install modules and sections from other YT-series freighters as well, though that would be within limits, if that is true, that would make for an insane ammount of modularity, even if technically such a hybrid of two different series would be in the "ugly" category, which is shared with ships build from scrap.
@@EnraEnerato if my eyeballing the measurements is correct, it seems like you could theoretically replace the dorsal cannon systems with the cockpit fairly easily, giving it more of a overviewing bridge tower in the actual center of the ship and an offset cannon system more specialized towards ground defence.

My favorite feature was the ability to carry so much cargo clamped to the outer hull. The ventral docking bay also provided a huge advantage for the Ghost. She was an excellent platform for airdrops or snagging goods on the run.
I've been saying that for a few yrs now. Haslab has to release the Ghost for crowdfunding. It has to be large enough to have a cargo bay, crew's quarters, cockpit and a place to dock the shuttle.
The Ghost's been my favorite light freighter style ship since it was introduced. The point about the Phantom's lack of hyperdrive is wrong though, that clip related to repairing a fried hyperdrive from the crash and electrical storms in that episode.

The Ghost always seemed to have some big maintenance or repair project going on, and its crew of 5-6 (which included an astromech, a top-tier pilot, a Jedi Knight, and a -Mary Sue- girl genius) had a full-time job keeping on top of it all. Still watching the Rebel series and love this Ghost and Phantom breakdown. What about the B-Wing prototype? I was wondering if it 'docked' with the Ghost ship after it escorted it to drop off supplies. Let's talk about customizing that B-wing to be attached to the Phantom and going hyperspace into battle. That Quarrie fish was a starship customizer that Corellians might want to watch.
The Ghost is a very well designed ship and for a small ship its firepower is immense, its bow mounted guns powerful enough to rock an Imperial light cruiser even through its shields plus there is that instance where a pair of torpedoes launched from the Ghost ripped an Imperial light cruiser in half. It is a perfect hero, hub-ship.
Before rebel s the ebon hawk, millennium fulcan, and slave I were my top three ships in Star Wars. Not counting any warships. But after rebels the ghost went to my number one spot. Now though not canon by some I do love the sith fury interceptor and the one ship used in swtor games.
Had very mixed feelings about Rebels as a series (it had it's moments for sure) but I never had any mixed feelings about the design of the Ghost. Loved it from the start.
The Ghost is actually my second favourite ship as well. I don't know about the other guy, but my #1 spot has been the Slave I ever since I watched The Empire Strikes Back for the first time as a little kid. I definitely liked the Millennium Falcon and the Outrider quite a bit, but being the son of a professional pilot and spending a lot of time in and around planes, sitting that far off the centreline with a MASSIVE blind spot never made sense to me. Yea before this show came out I always thought of a design for a ship where it carried a smaller transport ship that also acted as a gunner aboard the main ship.

The ghost was a very important ships in the rebellion, though it could've been more effective if they give Hera some more credits to keep it fueled and to buy addional components, also some more personal would have been nice, since most of the time Hera was alone with chopper
I've always liked ships that can take a beating. It makes it feel alive, in that it never gives up, which is a very honourable trait.
Thanks for this video explauning one of the best ships in SW history.
Certainly no.1 on my favorite ships list
As someone who plays Elite Dangerous this ship would fit perfectly for an explorer or bounty hunter. Itd probably be made by Lakon.
Yeah, it's straight up an Asp. Long range, highly modular, able to fight pretty well when it has to. And, obviously, the same general shape.
Ghost is my #1 fave !!
We had a VCX-100 in our Age of Rebellion game, with a party including a Twi'lek (blue), a Big Alien (a Trandoshan), a Droid (protocol iirc), and a bunch of humans...
Yeah, we got stopped by Imperial customs a few times thinking we were the Phoenix crew...
Keep up your good work dude !
This is definitely one of my favorites
My personal favorite light freighter is the Gthroc 700. It looks like a Space- Sea Turtle! I'd call mine the "Leatherback".
Brilliant video & awesome ship ;-D
The Ghost is my favorite ship in the franchise hands down.
I think the VCX 100 would make the perfect ship for bounty hunting with all the possible modifications including a stealth generator
Surprised not more of these about.
That's a really great ship. It's in the same level as the Millennium Falcon for me.
Should have mentioned the Phantom's replacement, an old Clone Wars era Sheathipede-class transport shuttle, aptly named Phantom II.
The rouge shadow and the Twerlight are my favourite
Yea before this show came out I always thought of a design for a ship where it carried a smaller transport ship that also acted as a gunner aboard the main ship.
Can you do a breakdown of the Galactic Standard Calendar, including what specific eras referred to themselves as?
Like the Rusaan Reformation was passed, they probably didn't call it '1032 Before the Battle of Yavin,' and other eras like when Revan lived.
Now that Din Djarin (aka Mando) needs a new ship, what do you think he'd get? I mean he's got all that money from the Republic coming to him for Moff Gideon's capture.
@@GAJake I don't think he'd ever get the Ghost but I could see him riding along with them. We know Bo, Sabine and Ahsoka were friends, the mamdalorians could be roped into ensuring Thrawn never threatens the galaxy again if he's been hiding his time with only Ezra to try and slow him down all these years.
I would actually choose the Ghost over Millenium Falcon. Bigger, stealthier, more powerful. Extra shuttle. It's got it all!
I would love a video breakdown of different "hub ships" like millennium falcon, ebon hawk etc
You could operate a spec ops air squadron and ground assault squad with The Ghost. Seriously OP.
Awesome generation tech
Another good one . Pretty cool ship, I could also go for this one. But I gotta make some credits for the up grades !
You should do a video on the Millennium Falcon. It is, after all, the most iconic ship in all of Star Wars.
Break down the Twilight of TCW
Can you do a breakdown of the Colasus from Star Wars Resistance
I do love this ship but I really love the raider corvette then if you go up some sizes the acclamator is my next favorite
Since you mentioned it alan... you should do one of the videos on the ebon hawk.
Zach Schmitt’s favorite ship is StormPilot
Ghost, a very cool ship.
mornin generation tech
Can you do a video on the VT-49 Decimator?
