It’s wonderful to see such a great friendship between Henry and Ron. 😊❤ “Happy Days” was a fantastic show. It brought happiness, fun and laughter into most of our lives. A magical time that we won’t forget. 🥰 The show was lighthearted and heartwarming. A very much missed show. 😊❤🌟👍💕🤩
I’m early 60’s and loved Happy Days! They aren’t kidding in this video when they talk about the popularity of Fonzie. It was crazy back then, he was the coolest thing on TV. Wish they made more wholesome shows like this nowadays. I’ll get off my own lawn now. 😂
Not everyone thought it was wholesome. Around that time I was about 10 years old and was being babysat by a Mormon family. I very specifically remember my mother coming to pick us up and having a conversation with the Mormon lady of the house that was disparaging Fonzie because "He was the kind of boy that got girls in trouble".
I love it. I loved Happy Days. The chemistry was clear, but I noticed over the years they always managed to work together. Arrested Development tv show, movies, other ventures. You don't work with others over a long period of time in your life if you don't have that bond.
Y’all are clickbaiting just a bit, eh? You folks make it appear that there’s some salacious stuff to be heard here, but Mr. Winkler has nothing less than the nicest things to convey about “Richie” (Mr. Howard). Good for Mr. Winkler for actually being a good person and not making up some wild nonsense for the masses to consume. He’s being a nice guy and you know what they say about “nice guys”. Well, for what it’s worth, I now have nothing but the best things to feel about Henry Winkler and will do whatever it takes to support him in his future endeavors. Now, stop with the nonsense of wild headlines! ✌️
No friendship or relationship in real life with fellow actors will ever be perfect. I saw a clip of Ron Howard and Henry Winkler at a reunion on the remade interior set of the original Arnolds. They're friends in real life.
Two very real people who have a wonderful and respectful friendship that has transcended their lives and sets a fine example! I think the world of both you guys! Bravo!
I was 4, and my brother was 16 when one day he came home and said, "Come watch this new show with me." That was the beginning of a 10 year love affair. I watched every episode. Your show introduced me to the Great Randi. Thanks, Henry, Ron, et al for the amazing memories. ❤
Henry Winkler had the ingenuity to audition for the role of Arthur Fonzarelli doing an immitation of a guy he met on the set of Lords of Flatbush named Sylvester Stallone. You will never watch Happy Days the same way again 😂 yup that's right Fonzi is Rocky.
When I first saw Ron as Opie in the mid sixties I thought “that kid is a natural” he doesn’t even have to try, it just comes out so realistically. Little did I know that he would have a brilliant carreer as both an actor and a world class director for the next 50 plus years!
"Happy Days" was such an integral part of my life when I was growing up. All of my friends were into the show. It's nice to see Ron Howard and Henry Winkler remain great friends through the years. They both have very successful careers as directors. Sometimes I catch "Happy Days" on the moldy oldy TV stations. It's till just as funny as it was way back when.
I always loved watching Happy Days, the idea of which came from the film "American Graffiti", a wonderful movie. I grew up watching Ron Howard as Opie in The Andy Griffith Show. I related to Mayberry as I was born and lived my young life in the town it was patterned after, Mount Airy North Carolina at about the same period the show was set in, as Ron Howard is only 6 months older than I am. My mother went to elementary school with Andy. Both Ron and Henry have been favorites of mine ever since.
I used to watch Happy Days when I was a kid in the '70's. Memories of my Mum coming home from the bakery where she worked, her bag full of blackcurrant tarts she had lifted when no-one was looking ha ha!! RIP Mum xx.
If Ron Howard had not become a DP, we wouldn't have had some of the most epic movies ever made. Henry Winkler was a golden nugget to TV as well. Both men were gems.
In his book about him and his brother, Ron presents a different view of Fonzi and how the show changed from the Ron Howard show to the Henry Winkler show.
It's good that they're close friends. Those two characters were prominent and very recognizable in the 50s. The Fonzi character rebelled more audaciously and visibly against the school system and the 'Establishment'. The 'hoods' gradually began wearing form-fitting jeans, boots with thick heels, fancy satin or maybe 18th century-styled shirts. They would sometimes swagger pugnaciously down the sidewalk. The Cunningham character had to find his success through the prevailing 'System'. He couldn't or wouldn't get expelled or sent to the principal's office. Their styles and methods were so different that neither could easily cross over to the other's turf.
Played back up drummer for Clint Howard's band at a rehearsal at Woodland Hills in 1980...... just an Aussie ski racer drifting thru LA.... never forget it....
Night Shift s a wonderful 80s movie... We have a copy in our collection and watched it just a few months back again. Great laughs and holds up really well!
Having worked with Mr. Winkler I just have to say he has real class he is very kind to people and animals …..I really like Mr. Winkler but I have to say I’m sad that Mr. Howard is woke I thought he was more intelligent then that .
Woke is appreciation of all people and that this country welcomes all people. The people deserve health care. You "smart" people are haters and vote against your own interests because the party of the rich has distracted the poor with shiny hateful objects. You rally against problems that don't exist and vote for the guy who lies to you and wants to be a fascist dictator. You're so smart aren't you. Smug
“Woke” just means to become aware of systemic injustices in various areas of society. Like systemic racism against black people and minorities. Why would anyone be against becoming aware of that ? Do you prefer blissful ignorance ?
When I was a kid I was amazed by the cool Fonz...now when I watch the reruns I'm amazed by Winkler's acing ability. The fact that Howard didn't get jealous and hate Winkler when because upstaged him on Happy Days is a testimony to Howard's character.
Happy Days was special because of these two. Favorite show as a kid. Will never forget how disappointed I felt when I realized the Fonz was just a character, but Henry Winkley couldn't be a better guy.
I changed my mind about Ron Howard after watching the film he made on Einstein. My kids watched it with me. In the first scene he has Einstein and a student having s=x in the classroom. Why? That was unnecessary and disgusting. It could have been suggested but was graphic. We turned the TV off and I never watched anything from Ron Howard again…
I am pleasantly surprised to hear some of these actors give credit and praise to others as enthusiastically as they do. And you know what? - it not only doesn't cost them, it rewards them.
I am thankful for this good story of good friendship out of Hollywood. I was leary of this content, prepared to leave quickly. Instead was rewarded with a warm peek into good. Thank you.
Great segment. As much as “Hollywood” is often trashed, especially lately by rightwingnut nitwits who always seem to need a scapegoat that doesn’t fight back, it’s great to see a delightful segment about two significant “Hollywood” stars who have a genuine and long-standing friendship.
Henry's right -- the chemistry between these two actors was magic. And when Ron left the series, the magic was gone. The series should have ended then, in my opinion, instead of limping on for however many more years they decided to go.
Henry Winkler on the "The Larry Sanders Show" was one of the funniest scenes of that series. It's him, Jeffery Tambor (Hank Kingsley), Norm MacDonald and Garry Shandling. Henry's response to Norm MacDonald telling him that Hank's video is a sex tape, and not an exercise video is priceless. "Then why is he upset" You'll have to watch the rest.
Grew up watching Happy Days. Whomever put that cast together was not paid enough. When Ron left, the transition to Henry was so well seamed that you didn't even notice that Ron was not on the show anymore. I still don't know how they did that being Ron had always been the main focus.
I enjoyed Happy Days , The Andy Griffith show, and American Graffiti. The Lords of Flatbush. I always had Jobs since age 14 even since age 9 Those City Boys were bums.

I love the brotherhood of these 2 wonderful actors. Henry Winkler seems to be very humble.
I am glad to have grown up in the time of the FONZ , AAAAAAA
We are privileged.
What a wonderful friendship they have. It’s amazing. That two actors can be so appreciative of each other.
*Do actually know them ...*
Good for them, they are both incredibly talented and creative actors / directors and they deserve it. Loved that show as a kid.
The lack of envy from Howard and the humility of Winkler was the fuel. Greed is a minor problem, envy is a huge problem.

I don’t think they had too many ups and downs: just ups and up highers. They added so much to our generation.
