I am a 3D student, and I have been using blender since the 2.5 days. I already know all the ins and outs of rigging in blender, and I just want to get up and running in Maya. Hopefully this series helps me out! :)

I've spent a lot of time creating a rig before that I was quite proud of but that was some time ago. I am currently looking to refresh/update my current rigging abilities and am looking through various tutorials and series to try and figure out what I should be focusing on. My main issue at the moment is trying to figure out if I should even be learning advanced rigging methods in this modern age. There are so many auto rigging tools available now that I almost feel like it nullifies 90% of what I have previously learned. I am going to learn some python to try and streamline some of the rigging process but asides from that, I am very unsure how and where I should be spending my time. If anyone would like to share their opinions with me on the topic it would be greatly appreciated.
hi Reza. Thanks for the very useful videos you uploaded for us. I was wondering if you put the same models you are using in them with which we can practice. have fun

I have an issue when setting the driven keys for the Reverse Foot Lock: When I rotate the RF_JNT_L_BankL01 to set the key, all three rotation axis change in the channel box instead of just the Rotate Z, and if I manually input a value, then it doesn't rotate as it should and the Z axis of the gizmo is looking in the direction of the next joint. Do you know what might be happening? Thank you in advance and I really appreciate the tutorials!
Hi! Have been following your tutorials and have come with an issue if it should be called like that. When you are setting your driven keys, you check the rotation axis of the joints to set it. In your video, they are both the Z axis. However, for me I have the left joint in Z and the right axis in X. I have gone through the video three times now and I don't see what I did differently. Is there a problem with this and if so, how could I fix it. Thank you very much!
you have two options. 1, unparent the joint in question. use orient joint to fix the orientation and reparent the bones. this would be my preferences. 2, you can also go ahead with what you have and select X axis when you setup movement using sdk.
I got caught out here exactly. I took my time with it, focused in... I didn't feel confident, as my bank L axis wasn't directly pointing back across to it's parent of R, it was of course pointing to it's child at the heel. So I un-parented it and lined it up by eye so that L bank was looking back at R bank... once I re-parented it back to the Heel... the X down the chain never aligned (couldn't figure it without losing it's aross bank axes). I left it, and it still worked.
This man let feel rig as easy and funny, great tutorial, also the beginner one.
