@@gwenyngruffydd I wasted a lot of time waiting for her, I think she landed a few moments before on the feeder that was just sitting on top of the hive but she didn’t actually come down for awhile so when she did come down, it was easy because she had to walk anyway I was lucky to get that short mate thanks.

I just ador bee keeping! I have noticed that the UK weather is not so bee friendly which is saddening! We get so few swarms lately. But boy do I get a thrill when I see one and even better if I can catch it.

What is so sad is people can go though their whole life and never experience this wonder of nature it is so awe-inspiring and humbling at the same time. magical🐝🐝🐝

Best swarm trap ever! I had 2 swarms move into deadout equipment on the robbing station. They work on the box prior to moving in. I've noticed they put place holder bees in the hive the night before they move in. Thanks Richard!

I love that they enter in that stinky one. I actually think that there are bees immune to everything.(well varroa maybe still not). Long time ago I saw them enter a hive full of chalk brood and clean it up without problems. I done experiments with every disease possible.. l really mean every... since I'm on an island l did an AFB experiment with one sick hive in the middle of 4 around. The sick one had a caged queen and they lived there drinking water from the seme bucket all summer. The caged queen was released two times to lay and caged again. I switched feeders first, than empty frames.. the 4 hives never got sick. They are still quarantined in the same place alive and strong 4-5 years after. The sick hive was killed with gasoline and burned.
That year I had to burn a yard because I split them too weak too late and the stress made them get infected from a neighbor whose bees died quickly after.
Please don't try this... l did one hive for a test in a very secluded place. If you ever get AFB burn and disinfect your equipment as fast as you can.

I had a swarm turn up in the garden 2 weeks ago - swarm box - not one of my hives. I did it to annoy the neighbours, but i loved seeing it too.

Interesting that they cleaned out the hive prior to moving in. Yeah I guess we all get hopeful that they might fill up a super. But as you said in the last video they still have to fill in the brood chamber too

I have a question about the nicot equipment

I can't find original equipment without buying the whole set up. Any ideas?

@@danphillips4590 idk, good question but I think she is guided by the workers, then decides if all is good. Numerous times you see swarms setting up home next to a swarm trap 🤷🏼‍♂️. Is that the queen rejecting the proposed site?? It’s all very interesting

i love swarms, some of my most productive hives have come from swarms. and a great source of drawing new comb as most swarms are highly motivated to get building wax right away.

In the box with some old comb, and stood there watching them march in.
