One does nos simply dislike Poets of the Fall. This song also reminds me of a cowboy who seeks revenge for his beloved and wishes to bring peace. So beautiful!
This whole album of Poets is great and I like their new approach of making ballads. It shows what fantastic musicians they are. I truly love this song.
1 Dislike? Some people just want to watch the world burn... I really really REALLY like this band, their music has been a change in my life and have created peace in my mind from when I first heard War, to Carnival of Rust, to this one and Signs of Life
Did anyone else who saw The Dark Knight Rises think of this song? The lyrics match the story almost step by step and the music gives that sorrowful but yet hopeful felling, same as the movie. I can't wait for the DVD release so someone can combine the two.
When I listen to this song, I imagine a western scenario just stretch across my mind like a tumbleweed flaying across the barren lands. Marko Saaresto as the next John Marston? Yes please.
He stands in the doorway Quiet like yesterday With forgotten thoughts become a mystery And night means locked away He looks like a conman But his view is much too wide For such a solution So he fights Without a six gun on his side And all the while his stars and moon shine brightly Outside the desert wails a curse of rage and jealousy And yet tomorrow comes along And shapes to serve his purpose: To keep your peace Chorus x 3
Last summer, I spent about 90% of my waking time playing Fallout New Vegas and listening to PotF and A7X, so now both are permanently associated with pretty much the exact scene you just described.
I had trouble finding accurate lyrics so transcribed myself: He stares out the window Blank as a canvas Made up in the sunlight And swirling smoke and ash He waits for a breath now Taking his time He sees an eternity In the blink of an eye And for him this life is made of Time and Choices An endless blend of vistas Painted bright with memories The Here and Now are vowed to him To only serve one purpose: To keep your peace (Continued in next post)
Chorus: He takes on the world all in his stride And your wounds will be his scars So won’t you remember when the night comes He will need your open arms For to be invincible: He needs your love (Continued next post)
True. But the more times i hear it, the more it reminds me of "Red Dead Redemption" but i do agree with you. it does have some mysterious meaning to it.
I was completely wrong before. It's nothing to do with religion. This is about a broken man, completely wrecked by the ill effects of love gone wrong - descending into madness and villainy in a dessolate wasteland. Hence The Happy Song coming next - that's him really accepting his new course - to become an utter git.
You'd have to listen to the album as a whole to get it. Starts off all about incredible love that's running out of time, then descends into obsession and stalking, as he clings to the last shreds of a conscience. Now he's seeing it might be better without it. Maybe... Maybe he's a psycho.
Is it just me or does the song stop playing in the half? That's not the only video. Is it some Flash player error, browser error or do UA-cam servers have problems? Nice song anyway :)
First of all you're too deep into religion, and religion causes war and makes people violent. Secound, don't tell anyone to gtfo on a PotF video. Everyone deserves to listen to them no matter who they are.

I believe it's about the aftereffects of serving in the military. The physical and emotional scars that someone has afterwards.
This whole album of Poets is great and I like their new approach of making ballads. It shows what fantastic musicians they are. I truly love this song.
To only serve one purpose

What a ballad...>3>3>3
He stands in the doorway
Quiet like yesterday
With forgotten thoughts become a mystery
And night means locked away
He looks like a conman
But his view is much too wide
For such a solution
So he fights
Without a six gun on his side
And all the while his stars and moon shine brightly
Outside the desert wails a curse of rage and jealousy
And yet tomorrow comes along
And shapes to serve his purpose:
To keep your peace
Chorus x 3

One of my effing favorite Ballad, if ever do Dark Tower movies. I want this to be its soundtrack.
Well...the movies are happening at least :D

Could you elaborate?
I thought this was a song that praises the special forces

Okay. I can't be the only one that's reminded of Doctor Who with this song, right?
Kinda does, never thought about that.

Nice song anyway :)
