BTS do all genres of music. They started off as hip-hop, which is their roots, but they do R&B, EDM, rap, ballads, pop, etc. Each member has their own style. They all have solo albums. He has not gone in the military yet. The rest of the members will be in the military by the end of this year. They plan to be back as a group by 2025.
Jungkook genuinely enjoys pop music and this first solo album is a great reflection of his tastes, but the music of BTS is so diverse that it will blow your socks off. If no one has mentioned it, they started out 10+ years ago as a Hip Hop group and their rappers are also amazing. I would love you to see the live of this song that he did for iHeart radio. Jungkook is pitch perfect and has been listed in The Rolling Stone Magazine as one of the top 200 voices of all time 💜
Please don't be put off by ARMY. We come on strong because there are many millions of us all over the globe and we are very passionate. Some are also using translation software and may come off as rude unintentionally. But, precisely for the reason of BTS massive reach, beyond languages and cultures, it should pique anyone's interest to know what the big deal is about BTS and why there are so many passionate ARMYs. (Hint: It's not looks and it's not a boyband formula.)
BTS are a thinking person's band. They go deep and strong lyrically, thematically, emotionally, musically. Their talent level is insane. Each of them is a star in their own right, and this is a mix of 7 world class dancers, singers, rappers, songwriters, composers, producers, musicians. Not just the best in S Korea, but among the best in the world. They have so many Guiness World Records that they are already in their Hall of Fame and are well on their way to being the most awarded musical artists in history after just a decade of work. Several of them also play multiple musical instruments and Suga could have been a concert pianist if he chose that route. In terms of genre, if you have heard 2 BTS songs, you have heard 2 BTS songs. You cannot judge their sound off 2, nor 6, nor a dozen songs. They are incredibly diverse, covering Rap, Hip Hop, Rap Metal, R&B, Neo Soul, Funk, Jazz, EDM, Dance Synth, Pop, Latin Pop, Pop Rock, Ballads, and more, plus unclassifiable fusions. I've heard everything in their music from screaming rock guitar solos, to bluegrass funk guitar picking to Korean traditional instrumentation to classical piano and soaring strings, and so many kinds of vocals.
All their albums are concept albums and some tie together thematically in sets of 2 or 3, covering strong topics relevant to stages in their lives. Subjects they touch on are personal stories, socio-economic and political issues, historical events and tragedies, generational issues, mental health, self-love, rage as both a societal ill and a tool for change, loneliness and alienation, and more. They pull for inspiration from philosophy, psychological theory, current events, religious and mythological allegories, science, literature, historic and modern arts, and more. They also have a fictional supernatural mystery storyline running through their work, called the Bangtan Universe, or BU, with clues spread through multi-media such as song lyrics, album notes, webtoons, a mobile game, short films, MVs and more.
Add to all this the tremendous depth of character of the members and their dedication to their mission to bring love and healing to the world through music and you will begin to see why they have been invited to speak at the UN General Assembly three times and the White House. Their characters and charitable activities have been a guide to ARMY. BTS and ARMY are more a global social movement that gives me hope for the future of humanity, than they are just a band and their fans. There is a tremendous depth to them beyond what meets the eye on first look.

Three of the older members are now in the military. Jungkook, the youngest member, will be going into the military with his three older members in December. All 7 members should be out in 2025.
Just a note: Charlie Puth, who has worked with Jungkook twice, said Jungkook has perfect pitch.
The TSX live concert in Times Square was amazing. Definitely got to check out the concert. It was a short concert...about 5 songs, i believe. All live.
This is really a fresh take on an 80's funk music with a touch of Michael Jackson vibes and Jungkook of BTS really sang and performed this perfectly .. Just to let you know JK will only begin his military service this December together with 3 of his remaining BTS brothers.

Another interesting bit about this song is that Jung kook does not speak English. He spends a huge amount of time learning the pronunciation of the words. There’s a behind-the-scenes video of him practicing the song Left and Right and repeating the word “tangled” which was difficult for him to pronounce.
Not just pronunciation, he also makes sure he knows exactly what the lyrics mean as well.
Jungkook is starting the military service next month, not finished. BTS do all sorts of music, maybe you could check more out
Hallelujah 🙌, finally someone mentioned “EARTH WIND AND FIRE”, already in the introduction of the song, in the first chords it was this band that came to mind immediately. I saw several reactions, but no one mentioned the band, just “70's style ,80's”. It's true that the main inspiration was certainly King Michael Jackson, Jungkook himself spoke about it, in fact, this is the second time that BTS pays homage to Michael Jackson, you need to react to “Dynamite” from MMA 2020 .

The iheart radio one is with a live band 💜 jungkook is the youngest, he is enlisting end of this year for mandatory military service, 18 months, as well as 3 BTS members.3 are already serving. Jungkook gave us an incredible long awaited album with Golden. 🔥🔥🔥edit one of the producers is know for being a great guitarist and he also did Seven with Jungkook. Have you checked out the BTS members’ solo albums …? Very diverse.
Jungkook has not finished his military duty... none of them have. He, RM, Jimin, and V actually just announced that they are STARTING their military obligations this coming month (December). Jin will be done this coming June 12th, followed by J-Hope. Suga has to serve longer since he is doing a civil service duty and should be done around the same time as the last 4. All of the members have released solo albums over the last 1.5 years as they prepared to leave for their duty.
Jin did not release a solo album. He released one song. I am looking forward to his solo album, though.
This masterpiece song is legendary, I hope more people will know this.

How I wish he was done with his military service, but he hasn't even started it yet. RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook will enlist soon probably sometime during December. Jin will be discharged in June 2024 and J-Hope will be discharged in October 2024. The other 4 members will be discharged in mid 2025 including Suga who has already enlisted but he's doing public service instead of active duty due to a shoulder injury he got many years ago so his service time is 21 months instead of 18 months. And all the members have done solo work. 6 of the members have had top 10 albums on the billboard chart. Jin will more than likely release his album after his military service is completed, but he did do a song with Coldplay before he enlisted called The Astronaut. And then come 2025 BTS will be together again and you bet their first world tour after their service is going to be huge.
7:32 As, or if, you dig deeper into BTS' discography you'll come to know that you should always just expect the unexpected. I'm not sure there is a "typical" BTS sound. Yes, they absolutely do have straight up pop songs (Dynamite, Butter), but if you have your playlist on shuffle, the next thing you know you're listening to rap cyphers, hiphop (MicDrop), ballads (Truth Untold), Latin pop (Airplane Pt2), R&B (Stigma/Singularity), Rock (Ma City) and everything in between. On top of that, each member has now released their own solo project this year and not a single one of them have sounded the same or been in the same genre. Jungkook has always been more pop leaning and has even done MJ inspired choero of covers in the past so this wasn't so left field, and his passion and charisma shown here are absolutely on brand for him.

Jungkook hasn't gone to military yet. All the members came out with solo albums while they are paused for group activities. Jungkook is the last of the members to come out with his album. members Jin and JHope are already in military service. Suga is in community service instead of military due to shoulder injury. RM Jimin V and Jungkook just recently announced together that they have started their military enlistment application. All the members will be back together in 2025 after 18 Months in military service.
Jin has not released a solo album. I'm hoping he does next year when he gets out.

I agree with everyone who told you to react to V (of BTS’) tiny desk concert. It’s only about 10 minutes long if that. Jungkook generally gravitates more towards pop music, while V’s sound is a little more Jazz/R&B. Agust D does every incarnation of hip hop, and RM dabbles in every genre so there is no predicting what he’ll do from one song to another. Likewise with J-Hope. Jimin has to find songs that complement his unique voice, and Jin just sings whatever songs make him happy.
So V’s band session vids are wonderful too. 💜
