In this sewing video, I am at last making a start on finishing my patchwork quilt after over 26 years! Lots of hexagons need counting and arranging.

Your kitty….that Jordie is such a sweet boy. He is just your shadow. It just made me want a cat like him. Your quilt is going to be beautiful. Looking forward to seeing the journey.
He is deffo my shadow I love him so much xx
Hello from New Zealand. i shall follow your progress. I love the idea of putting myour quilt on line to keep you honest. I have one over the years and it is on the couch and I will try and finish it with you. Do not have the knowledge on how to show you. but maybe I could work on learning that as well.
I am 72 years old have a wonderful cat just like you.
Oh.my.goodness! What a project! I will enjoy watching your project from a safe distance so I won't get bitten by the quilt bug. You should calculate how much time you have invested. It will be stunning.
Hi Jane. Have you thought about sticking a border on? Even a couple of borders, different widths? It would reduce the number of hexagon flowers required, add length and width and provide a nice frame. X
Good luck with the quilt.
I'm watching this in October, perfect Autumnal colours
thank you xxx
Love the colors this is going to be beautiful. I really had to laugh because, I started a Quilt 45 year's ago when my Son was a baby. It only needs the binding done, but it is still waiting patiently for me to get to it.😕
I even sent it to my Sister in-law's Quilting Club and they hand quilted it for me and stitched all their names in as well. It is a Kingsize made of Satan Fabric from my Grandmother's I really should get it done!🙄
You definitely should, you may even get hooked again like me xx
I can so relate to you. I just finished a cross-stitch 2 days ago I started 22 years ago and recently came across. Now I'm hooked again. I also do dressmaking and quilting. I love watching your blogs. 🌈🌷❣️
I can relate to finding forgotten stashes of stuff! Sewing is always more fun with a cat or two!
Can't wait to see it done, Jane xx
I’m totally loving doing the patchwork … I’ve just finished all the flowers …. Episode 3 vlog coming soon xx
Lovely video thats a lot of hexagons, love your cat sitting with you and sitting on the hexagons x
I have the big, medium & the mini version. Beautiful colours & I can see why your Kittie is getting comfy 🤗Btw I combined the stripes with plain fabrics

OMGGG Jayne, your cat Geordie, lololo!
The colours of your hexagons are so lovely.
I've bundles of crocheted hexagons in boxes and bags in my closet ... really should get my blanket finished.
Your video is so visually lovely on it's own, but also really helpful in explaining the process of how to go about the sizing.
Give Geordie a kiss for me, and tell John he's still in our thoughts.
Come on and join us We are in this together
I will definitely give Geordie a kiss from you and John is doing really well at the moment thank you so much for asking xx
Love this you have inspired me to have a go too
Loved this video. Funnily enough I am doing a hexagon quilt using fabric I found in an antique shop at Cromford in Derbyshire. They are a very similar palette of colours to yours. It is a lovely thing to do during the winter months. I am looking forward to seeing your progress during the next few weeks (months!). Thank you for sharing.
Your cat is so funny! My Molliecat is nosy too and likes to get involved. I want to make a hexagon patchwork quilt so will be watching all the videos. I cheat though and will be using hexiform with a glue pen so no tacking and taking out the papers. I’m new to all things sewing, cross stitch and embroidery and am gradually finishing all the kits I’ve bought from around 2 years ago. I love your dress. Did you make it? Would love to see a tutorial if you did but I expect not a beginner friendly make. Lesley
Thank you so much … yes he likes to get involved with my videos 😂 xx
My cat always has to sit on what I’m working on too lol
They have to be involved don't they xx
Just out of interest, what size are you hexagons? This will be such a beautiful quilt :)
hi I think mine are approx 5.5cm point to point, but I will show the exact measurements on the next episode xx
I honestly don't know much about quilt making, other than some basic history and helping my sister to make a knot quilt. Why do you need the paper? Is it like an interfacing of a sort? Won't it get nasty if you wash it? Or would you dry clean only?
Hi, the paper is just as a base as you remove them when the quilt is finished, I will explain more on the next episode xx
@@TheDressmakersCloset Thank you, kindly! Happy Holidays; all the best to you & yours.
Jane do you have a pattern on English paper piecing?
I’m actually planning something for you all to download and use very soon xx
