    Wowee!!! I was about to comment about how different UA-cam used to be like 10yrs ago; and then I realized you posted this a year ago! Thank you so much for making such a thorough and organized tutorial without headspinning flashes and transitions and memes and all the other sporadic stuff people inundate their tutorials with.
    And for the tutorial itself, thank you so much for the information!!! I was extremely intimidated to try this with my 21 year old American Girl, but seeing you do this made me so relieved that I didn't have to actually alter her head. Thank you so much!!!!❤

    Oh, my goodness, I love this video!! Oh Deer Custom Dolls is creating a custom Nanea mold for me for my birthday (which isn't until October) and I'm loving seeing all of these wigs on this 119. I do love the black hair with the blue eyes, but you're right about the eyebrows - they don't match at all. It think the wig you chose is the perfect match for her eyebrows. But she also looks so incredibly sweet in the Marie Grace wig. And red hair and blue eyes is always a gorgeous combination as well. Don't get me started on the blondes. They are sweet too, especially the ash blonde and the Princes Leia wig. :) Yep, I think I covered them all. :) I loved all of the un-wigging and re-wigging tips as well. I've only re-wigged one doll and I really didn't enjoy it at all, so that's why I let Oh Deer tackle that for me. Looking forward to seeing your girl with freckles. I LOVE freckles. I think she looks like a Shannon, Shanna, Shana or Shelby. Shelby means "of the willow farm" which is rather outdoorsy. :) Thanks for sharing!!

      Thank you!! That is so exciting, and I can’t wait to see how your doll turns out. Oh Deer and Copper Cadence are my favorite customized dolls because they stay true to the original AG style but still look so unique. I especially like how Oh Deer uses genuine AG parts. I’m hoping to get one of her dolls soon since they are so reasonably priced. And I love those name suggestions - thank you 🥰🥰

      @@EvelynRoseAG Copper Cadence does make gorgeous dolls as well. I just love working with Oh Deer - she's so sweet and helpful and patient, which I need because I have a hard time making up my mind. :) I know my girl is going to have Saige's eyes and a Nanea mold (and freckles of course), but that's all I know for sure. Since she's for my birthday in October, I would rather that she work on other people's dolls and work on mine in her spare time. It's so fun working on a new girl! I thought my collection was complete with my Marie Grace mold, but then I decided to sell my Classic mold, which brought me back down to 7 dolls. I thought I would stay there, but then I kept thinking about the Nanea mold. She's so stinking pretty. :)

      Saige’s eyes will be so beautiful. I can’t wait to see her! I wasn’t sold on Nanea’s mold when she first came out because I found the eyes to be too large, and thought she didn’t quite look like an AG doll. But now that she’s been around for a while, I really love it and find it endearing.

    Thanks for this tutorial! At some point I may want to try a wig swap, with the right doll, and it's great to have such a comprehensive tutorial to turn to. I really liked the wig you chose, the color really suited her. The other wigs I liked were the MG wig and the short shaggy bob- mostly for the length and style, tho, and less for the color. I hope you'll do a tutorial on adding freckles- that's something I'm seriously considering for one of my dolls and I haven't the faintest notion on where to begin. Thank you so much for this video!

    Wonderful video, thank you so much for sharing! I was very inspired and just ordered #119 (taking advantage of the sale) to customize her as well. Recently, I came across the most beautiful fiery red wig and I thought I would steer you in that direction if you like reds: from Dallas Doll “Summer Sunset Swirl”, I only bought it because it’s on sale and didn’t expect much, but oh boy! When I received it, I couldn’t believe how gorgeous it is, it looks so natural despite of being very bright, I highly recommend, probably the most beautiful red I’ve ever seen.

    I ADORE the final look on this doll. You really did choose the perfect hair color for her eyes and brows! I also love nature names. She looks like she walked right out of a warm autumn afternoon. So I guess Autumn is an option 😂 Or a tree name might work, like Rowan (which also means red-haired) or Aspen or Juniper. Or pretty much any other tree name, they’re all cool. Great tutorial. I liked that you didn't go heavy on the glue. I had two AG dolls that i switched wigs a lot for variety but I sold them (boo hoo) with the wigs. I had found a human wig at the thrift store of tiny dread locks and made a wig for the dolls and it came out pretty good. The wig cap was made of tacky glue which ended up stiff but it stayed on the head. Have you ever ventured into making your own wigs? It's kind of fun.

If you want to be able to brush your dolls hair or do hairstyles without any fear of the wig coming off, I’d use the E6000. A Pampered Chef plastic pot scraper proved helpful too.

    I've seen people being able to remove wigs off of older dolls without using nail polish remover.

      I have been able to do it with just a spoon before. It varies pretty greatly from doll to doll, for sure.

    Finally finished this video. Thank you for the tutorial. I will keep this in mind when I switch the wig. She turned out beautifully. Khaleesi is my favorite ❤

    Why don’t you want to get boiling water on the hair?

    Not the best tips tbh, keep in mind that some of the methods shown in your video are too risky and might ruin the dolls 😊

    • @EvelynRoseAG
      @EvelynRoseAG  4 місяці тому

      There is an inherent risk with customizing dolls, of course. These methods have been used over and over again by AG collectors, and in this video I show how I do it. I would love to see a video if you have a better way, especially since you offered criticism but no tips of your own.
