    Grace bought a second Evette to customize recently and I tried yet another wig removal technique (always fun to try new things). I got all the hairline off with "brute force" and then used a hairdryer to soften the glue on the top of the wig. It worked really well. I'll keep the steamer option in mind, too! I have used ModPodge on doll lips and had the same frustration that you can see the brush strokes. I wonder if watering it down would make the difference. She looks lovely in the end - thanks for sharing!

      Thank you! I haven’t tried a hair dryer yet but that’s a great idea. And I should try watering down the mod podge. I don’t have the same issue if I use the matte one. I’m forward to seeing how your second Evette turns out!

    I love the lip color you mixed, it looks really nice. And that jar of mod podge really took me back, I used so much of that stuff making collages from magazine cutouts in middle school!

    Wow you did a really good job! I love her color. I want to learn how to add color to their faces like you did. A lot of the dolls are so pale looking to me as well. Great job 😁

      Thank you so much for the kind comment! Adding color to the face is much easier than it seems. Although I’m not a professional and my work isn’t perfect, I always have so much fun with it.

      Thank you! I didn’t glue her wig on so she can still play wig try-on. I think she would look great in just about any wig!

    I love it! Now I want to redo the lip paint I did on the one I did. I'm still debating sending into the hospital though for just a new head because I don't like the job I did and her hair has so many dried ends anyways

    • @EvelynRoseAG
      @EvelynRoseAG  Рік тому

      Thank you! You could always practice the lip paint and then send to the doll hospital. Sounds like with the wig being fried that will be the better deal anyway

    Thanks a lot. You made me run to amazon and buy this doll since it was on sale for $65. 😂.

      Oooh thanks for the tip - I’m going to have to try thinning it next time! I’m likely going to be redoing her lips at some point anyway.

    That steamer looks like it worked great!! Her face makeup looks great too. Lips, cheeks, freckles and beauty mark. Lovely! Will you do a video when you put the blue wig on your daughter's doll? I hope so! Thanks for sharing!! Are you going to call 90 Barbie? :)

    • @EvelynRoseAG
      @EvelynRoseAG  Рік тому +1

      Thanks Beth! I’m surprised at how well the steamer worked, although I can see it messing up the doll or getting moisture in the eyes if you’re not careful. I’ll definitely share what I end up doing with the blue wig! 🩵 And yes, totally tempted to call her Barbie 😂

    She looks like Elizabeth, Felicity 's friend without the side curls. Was that what you were going for? She ended up so pretty.

      It wasn’t, but how serendipitous! I had Elizabeth at one point but just didn’t connect with her so i sold her. I loved her combo and suppose I have recreated it here! 😍

    I personally don't like using mod podge. It ruined my diamond painting by drying wrong and ever since then I've been hesitant to use it. I've seen people use a varnish and it comes out beautiful but I haven't tried it myself yet.

    • @EvelynRoseAG
      @EvelynRoseAG  Рік тому +1

      Oh wow, I don’t blame you! I haven’t used it much but it is cheap so I suppose that makes sense.

    I have 90 and when you you said she was like really plain on her face I got so offended but she's so pretty I Want to do this but I'd probably mes up unless you have a full tutorial

    • @EvelynRoseAG
      @EvelynRoseAG  6 місяців тому

      She does have very pale lip paint, which isn’t to my personal taste. As a pale person myself, with two very pale children - our lips just are not that pale. She’s still pretty but I wanted her lips to better reflect a more realistic face. I do have an old tutorial on adding lip paint to a doll and I’m hoping to re-do it in the future. I would recommend trying it on an older doll first, but luckily, acrylic paint wipes off pretty easily when wet, so when mistakes happen, they are easy to fix ❤️

    What did you use for the freckles?

    • @EvelynRoseAG
      @EvelynRoseAG  4 місяці тому +1

      For her I used just a regular marker. I tend to use liquid watercolor for my freckles most of the time though.

  • @bellaboo8952
    @bellaboo8952 Рік тому +1

    I think she looks beautiful !Do you put any finish on her face so the freckles don't rub off?

    • @EvelynRoseAG
      @EvelynRoseAG  Рік тому

      Thank you! I have MSC (Mr. Super Clear) that I can use, but I’m not 100% sure that I’m keeping her this way so I opted not to seal them. I actually have had washable marker freckles on one of my customs for nearly a decade now, and it has not wiped off. It could easily come off if I want it to, but for displaying, dressing, and photographing, it stays on better than you might think.
