In the fall of 1990 I was a high school senior in NYC, I was just accepted to one the Atlanta HBCUs and the first single I heard from Jodeci was 'Gotta Love' where they all had on the hoodies for Morehouse, Spelman, Howard and Clark Atlanta, dancing in a NYC subway. It was like a celebration song for me. Then in the fall of 1991, I was sitting in the college rec room when the video for 'Forever My Lady' came on BET and me and my friends were like WOW! It was just before I left Atlanta but a swan song so to speak, one of success in finding love, but a perfect close to the Jodeci saga being in Atlanta in the 90s.

I have this remix. It was a radio promo CD. It's a shame that Uptown/MCA kept all these remixes from fans by not commercially releasing the singles. Not an issue anymore. Because we have internet. So we can share our personal collections with fellow fans

This is perhaps my favourite song of all time. I was the RnB DJ with a sound crew back when these guys were big and I ALWAYS ended the night with some Jodeci. From 5:26 onwards brings me such joy and peace - the way K-Ci and Jo-Jo play off each other riffing away. Goodness. Love these guys. When I stopped deejaying I sold all off my vinyl except for the Jodeci. I have a half milk crate full of Jodeci records including this very single.
