Great headset.
Here some wiring details, just in case something doesn't work right:
There are white fields on the board. They all have names on them. LSR+ red wire (left speaker plus), and for LSR- black wire (left speaker minus). Right above the connections RSR+ and RSR- for the right speaker, and to the right of that B+ (red) and B- (green) for battery wires. On the other end of the board are two more MIC2- black and MIC2+ red for the microphone. - Навчання та стиль
U save my moneys bro, my prombem was on the left side with LSR's
Good to hear!
Matthew Hunt mine also with the LSR . In my case the LSR- wire
Had lost sound in the left speaker and both my LSR wires had come off the board. Must be a common issue with this model
There is typical problem with this headphone
Hi, having same LSR problem here ... do you know which of the red/black wires are the + and the - please?
With the help of your video I found a loose wire that cause no sound to come out of the right side. I've re-soldered that connection and my headphones are working. Bad workmanship on JBL's part. Thank you so much. You prevented my headphones from going to the landfill!
Thank you for this video. It helped and I was able to fix my headphones!
Many thanks for uploading this, it was relevant to my JBL E50 BT headphones also.
A friend dropped them while they were plugged in and it damaged some of the solder joints on the headphone jack - a bit of solder plus some craft glue later and they working like new :D
Great!
Jasher Simmons the port for my e50bt cable is loose and i cant hear anything, any tips?
umm, with my one what had happened was that the pins going into the circuit board had be snapped off so I soldered some fine rigid wire to 'extend' the snapped solder tab.
or you could try RS components and get a replacement jack altogether
Thank you very much. I just finished soldering my headphones. Same LSR problem.
Hi, having same LSR problem here ... do you know which of the red/black wires are the + and the - please?
Gabriel Spiteri YES, i do. I've prepared a full guide, with photos. Check on www.instructables.com.
Let me give you the link.
Gabriel Spiteri Quick answer, the RED is always (+), and BLACK is (-).
Thanks for this vid man, very helpful.
Bro! thanks you ve saved my headphones
Thanks for the video and the repair details. This is valuable information for techies and tinkerers. My E40BT works fine now. However, it is not a question of whether the headset will fail, rather a question of when it will work fail. Failure of one headphone, probably due to disconnected wires, has been a frequent failure reported by reviewers.
I have also found that Bluetooth circuitry tends to fail. I wonder if replacement circuit boards and batteries are easy to obtain for out-of-warranty headsets.
Any idea what to do if headphones dont power on?
When connected to charger they indicate a full charge
Thank You!
How do you un-clip the part to all the wires
Thanks for this video. I found e50bt headphones at a thrift store and paid $2.00 for it. Did not come with charging cable and bought a universal 2.5mm to USB cable on Amazon. Headphones worked perfectly for 4 months, then last night left it charging for 5+ hours. Did not want to turn back on afterwards. Tried to do a reset holding power button, tried the volume buttons, no luck. Checked the battery inside and voltage is 3.8V so it is good. Will replace controller board on eBay can be found $16 USD. Maybe need to buy official charging cable? Maybe overcharged? Headphones sounds very premium and is a waste not to try and repair.
while charge, I can not see any lights. Not sure whether it is the battery issue or something else. Used only for a year. Any suggestions?
When I connect the wire only the left side works but when I insert the wire half way the right side works but if I connect the wire fully only with left side works. And I was wondering why does it do that?
the left side of my jbls e40bt dont work i have to try to adjust it by moving it but it doesnt work very long
No tendras un tutorial de jbl E45BT ?
Where can I get a new battery for this headphone?
Will this also apply to the E50BT
Can you help me? My headphones are making weird backround noise and i dont know what would help.
i have E40 BT the both side work perfectly with bluetooth but if i use the audio cable the left side don t work. if i use this methode it can help me to fix it ? thank you
Once dropped, on the right side, where the battery is located, now the cable to the speaker is broken at the soldering point ... And of course I have no soldering iron home -.- That's what I call quality because too little tin was applied to this solder joint - very annoying! Thank's you save my money, now I have to find someone who has a soldering iron^^
Right side wont work despite the cables being soldered just fine. Any Ideas on alternative issues to fix? I'm out of warranty so itd be a big help!
I'm having a hard time trying to open the clips tho! any advice for noobs?
Still having trouble getting the clips to work. HELP?!
i have a pfone bettary can i chanche ? 2000 mah?
Ey wassup man! I cant get those clippy things to move out (1:33) I've damaged them a lot trying to pry them away
Thank's
how to this jbl e40bt reset factory bluetooth?
my god! you have massive hands!
Yes, good observation! Much larger than Donald Trump.
@@mygiguser LMAO😂
Can you take apart the swivel part of the headphones? Mine cracked and need to fix it. It looks like you can just unscrew it but mine is one tight.
No the screw is fake, it is a pin that is glued in.
can anyone help me about my jblt450bt?I cant turn it off unless its lowbattery.and doesnt turn on either.pls help how to open this one.
my headphone also leftside couldn't hear and i opened it.and i saw LSR + and - wasn't attached. that's the reason i couldn't hear left side?
Really? Do you mean the wires were hanging lose, and were not connected? Did the left channel ever work before?
mygiguser it did hear, and i fix by sodering iron. and it worked again
青本猛 SAME!!
Hi guys having same problem here LSR + and - disconnected. Do you know which one of the red and black wire is the + and which is the - :) thanks
anyone here know the audio jack port diagram for this headphone?
Any chance of doing a tear down of the E55BT my right side is in and out so it must be loose but I c any open it
I hear you, but i don't have a broken E55BT to tear down.
My e40bt is not charging. Plug in to the charger but no light at all. Left for whole night still not charged. Do you know what happen?
YeeHoong Chng i don’t know. Problem with the charger? the cable? wrong cable? battery? there are so many possibilities
When mines charge it always shows a white light. When i try to turn it on it doesn't. Any help?
Justin Pornasdoro I'm having the same problem!
Hey I have JBL T250SI wired headphone, recently i changed its 3.5mm jack pin but i am not getting that wide sound which it was giving earlier...I have checked my Laptops Audio port and it is working well...Can you plz tell me why i am not getting that sound?
Sorry, i have no idea.
Nice ;-)
In my headphones one side stopped working both with Bluetooth and With the cable what do I do?
I don't how much a new set costs. Probably to expensive to fix it. Do you still have warranty?
mygiguser no
Is this one have a heat issue like the non bluetooth one? Thanks
Yuki Sohn what heat issue?
Hi..can u please make a video about making a replacement charger of the e40 bt.i want to make 1 for me bcoz i lost my charger.tnx or maybe please chek the positive and negative side of the 2.5mm jack thank you!

Does the mic work without bluetooth? (so with a cable)
I am not sure. I never tried that.
can you do one for the E50BT I snapped the band and want to know how to fix it
Ryan Daniel Sequeira same problem here bro. left side band for my E50BT snapped. We could just reinforce it with aluminium strips but the question is is the wire on the headband flat? or just a regular wire?
Same with mine. Is a regular 4-wire cable with enamelled copper ones, annoying as hell to solder those. I ended up 3d printing a replacement of the entire headband
Hi great video! the charging port is broken so it does work with the cable if i twist it around. However i cannot make my Bluetooth to charge. Do you know a website where I can buy the port in replacement part? I will greatly appreciated.
Did you open it, and take the 2.5 Jack Board out? Look at the soldering. It will probably work, when you resolder the contacts!?
Most likely one of those www.digikey.com/products/en/connectors-interconnects/barrel-audio-connectors/434
What is the IC on green module there? Is it CSR8670?
The print on those chips is so faint, i can't read it.
I see, thanks on follow up. Im trying to find 8670 headphones and play with HW a little bit.
My headphones didn't work on the left side. I took them apart carefully like you did and when I opened it up the black and red wires from the hole with the goop were not attached to anything. What area do they need to be soldered to???
Fred Lewis Black and red wires? What side, the one with the battery?
left side opposite battery
There are white fields on the board. They all have names on them. You are looking for LSR+ red wire (left speaker plus), and for LSR- black wire (left speaker minus). Right above the connections RSR+ and RSR- for the right speaker, and to the right of that B+ (red) and B- (green) for battery wires. On the other end of the board are two more MIC2- black and MIC2+ red for the microphone.
Thanks, for the help
Hi there, I had the exact same issue as Fred Lewis posted above, thanks for posting this video ! My qustion now would be : What glue (if glue at all ) would you advise to use to make it hold after soldering the cables back on the board ? the "booger stuff" , perhaps ?
Friend that battery can be replaced with a bigger one?
there is not much space there
@@mygiguser But can it be replaced by one that is of the same size but is more battery possible? For one of 1800 mah
Poxa Mano para que fazer isso com o fone mano
NIce teardown ! Where to buy that battery for E40BT ?
battery dimension is 50 x 30 x 4 mm 1S Lipo with 3.7V and 600mAh
I assume you could find something like that on ebay or a RC hobby shop or website.
mygiguser thank you!
is there a way to disassemble hinges?
Yes, you can just pull them apart, but that will most likely damage the wire, because the wire is glued in with that black sticky stuff.
my wire is already damaged so i need to replace it :)
i dont see how can i disassemble the hinges without destroying hinges themself
Marko Žutić Here is the answer

Do You know dimensions of battery ? Cheers Good Video
Grzesiek|Astronaut sorry, don’t remember
I'm just trying to figure out why the left side wont play anything. Yes i charged it. Yes i tried plugging it in, yes i tried it on multiple devices and got the same result
Isaac Bz one of the wires fell off?
@@mygiguser none that i could see
hi, i have my jbl E40bt and one side just stopped working in both bluetooth and cable mode. sometimes when i move the cable inside the jack of the headphone it works. do you know why this is happening? if there is a way to get the jack to replace it?
Not sure. The jack seems to be on a little extra board in there.
mygiguser i have the same problem as the guy above, u really dont know how to fix this problem? im desperate 😥
***** I would be too. If one side stops working in BT and Cable mode, then i wonder what the connector has to do with this..?
mygiguser when you move the 2,5 inside the conector you can hear a little bit is as if it has a bad contact. sorry for the english
ramiro barraco I don't know. Did you open it up and check the solder joints on the connector?
The wire is the problem and is impossible to fix ... Screws are hidden and the rest is glued fully
hey. How i can bring the earcups back without damaging it? pls help . your response will be greatly appreciated !
I used a paperclip to get the last piece back in. Insert the plastic lip as far as you can, and then twist the ear cup, use the paperclip to assist.
If you wait a few minutes i am going to upload a how to video, because it seems a great idea for a video.
thanks for taking your time reading ang makinh a response !. ill wait for it. godbless !
There we have a video that explains how to take them off and put them back on easy: ua-cam.com/video/fBjnFsaBzzU/v-deo.html
Hi my friend,
Could you please show how to open the headband of JBL Synchros.
Please post a video..!
I can't figure out how to get the clips out.
What clips?
The ones at 1:26
Well, you have to bend them a little towards the center of the speaker, then pull on the outer casing. Do first one side, then the other. It is easy.
Looks like a dog chewed them, but they came off haha. I can see now why my left side stopped working, the LSR+ and LSR- came off of the board. The LSR- black wire actually went inside the insulation. I'll just need to wire cut and solder again. Thanks for such a swift response and a great video.
Thanks!
The soldering is such shit on consumer electronics these days, It sadly doesn't matter the brand as I've personally found out by taking various newer products apart. You get everything from cold solder joints to solder that's not completely covering the pads or through holes, to wires with melted insulation.
Yeah, i guess China needs time to learn how to handle lead free solder. That'll take time, if they get it at all. It is all about training. Lead free solder is more difficult to use.
@@mygiguser Either that or they need to use more flux and lower temperatures. They can just use flux that's corrosion free and will actually protect the joints of they leave it on.
Please, in spanish video?
Hablo un poco español
I have a problem,on the right side I can´t hear anything,sometimes I can hear a little bit,but not all the time,how can I repair it?To buy the headphones I spend a lot of money (I´m a student,so I don´t have so much money,so the headphones cost me a lot).
First step would be to open them as shown in the video to have a look inside? Maybe a loose wire? Who knows. But if you don't open them you will never know.
Another person with the left headphone issue. A little solder, all set.
I have this exact same problem, i'm opening it right now.
Hi, having same LSR problem here ... do you know which of the red/black wires are the + and the - please?
I'm here because my left earphone has failed
I have a right headphone issue, and I can't seem to get the clips to cooperate either. Guess I paid £100 on a plastic piece of rubbish that sit on my head...
Are you out of warranty? What is the problem with the clips?
