Hey Gabriel, I've visited Ladakh back in 2012. There is a palace probably called Stok Palace, it's a bit far from city and from there you can see the Leh city. I highly recommed that spot, I think that's the best view point.
Interesting place to visit, in reference to the German man story, i live in elevation , i think will be more difficult for people who lives in flat cities but going higher a little be more will be fine ♥️

Sad story about the German trekker. Even after hanging around a few days at 3500m, going up to 5359m Khardung La sounds quite a jump. Take it easy if you're planning to go there!
Agreed. I've spent quite a lot of time at high altitude and have on several occasions seen overconfident men with a big ego getting themselves into sticky situations with altitude sickness. Best take an overly cautious approach. For those that feel the need to show off - acclimatise first then you can pick up the pace. Even those elite mountain athletes setting speed ascent records in the big mountains have to acclimatise first. I guess a lot of amateurs don't realise this.
Foreigners traveling at these altitude should have Diamox pills in the pocket to avoid altitude stroke beside resting for some days to get their body acquainted to such high altitude and coldness.
@@ayangdidi5524 I carry diamox just in case but have never needed to use it. Agreed it's better to have and not need than to need and not have! I've seen plenty of people taking diamox to aid acclimatisation before even reaching higher altitudes.

There are some medications you can take the first couple of days on high altitude. I think it slightly ups your heartbeat or something making sure enough oxygen is taken in. But the best way of course is to travel over land so your body gets the chance to naturally increase its blood cell count.
On the subject of altitude sickness, in my experience it is often people who would be regarded as super-fit who suffer from it just as much if not more than the average person. That is just anecdotal from my time spent in the Andes of Peru.
