I think people dont realize that the UA-cam algorithm requires people to cover products on their channel in order to have reach. It literally recommends specific products to cover now, and tunes out everything else besides clickbait content and garbage shorts. This is the 'death of the follower' era, the days of getting good recommendations and content on youtube are gone, sadly. We have tiktok to blame for this.
I rather hear you talk about your own merch than hello fresh or manscaped...

I'm not sure so sure that getting things for free and not being compensated means you are unbiased. Getting the products for free IS the compensation. You rely on brands sending you stuff so you can make cool videos, and if you start giving negative and bad reviews to products, brands will be less inclined to send products to you and you will have less content and then you suffer as a result.
Love your stuff regardless, this is just my general thoughts since it's an idea I see pretty much every youtuber express and I don't really think it's all that true. Perhaps I'm wrong though.
Yeah, and its a known fact that companies like Fender were he gets a lot of gear "for free" are very cautious of who they send things to, so if you are negative about their products you won't get any new products "for free" anymore. That's why its always some tiptoeing around the products, its always "great", and if there are something negative there is always something minor that "doesn't matter anyway" so just buy it!
Ok so one thing to note on. I don’t keep the gear being sent to me. I ask to have it sent back. IF I truly want to keep something I purchase it.
@@OlaEnglund2 Oh I understand this. I didn't mean that they give you stuff to keep for free. Sorry if it came off that way. It's a symbiotic relationship. They send you stuff and you are able to make content for your channel. Your review benefits them as a form of advertisement, and you benefit from their product by being able to make content with that gear which will draw eyes to your channel and you don't have to pay for said product to review it.

You are watching free content. That means YOU the watcher is the product. UA-cam is targeting you for money, advertizers are targeting you for money, so Ola is also targeting you for money. That is how free content works. And of course the more youtube goes to sh1t and demonetizing videos and youtubers, the more youtubers will have to market you with merch and sponsors. That's how it goes.

I just miss when UA-cam wasn't a job. It used to be legit social media and people would only upload for fun. Now nobody thinks it's "worth" their time to upload anything that doesn't make them money. I totally get his point, just sayin
Back in those days we also didn't get as much as quality content as we get today, because people were working and doing youtube on side.
