Hiking Eaton Canyon to the Waterfall & Henninger Flats
Вставка
- Опубліковано 24 жов 2019
- Visit Eaton Canyon Natural Area Park & Nature Center and enjoy hikes to the bridge, waterfall and Henninger Flats. Aerial footage of the canyon included via Mavic Pro 2 drone.
This area is extremely popular with day hikers and the parking lots fill up fast. The trails area not difficult unless you go during the wet season as I showed in the video with the clip from January 2019 after some serious rain.
The Nature Center is open 6 days a week (closed Mondays) and is a great place to bring the family.
The trails around the nature center are well marked and relatively flat. There are some posted signs identifying some plants.
Pay attention to the warning signs regarding snakes and poison oak.
The waterfall is very similar to Sturtevant Falls @ Chantry Flat. The difficulty level to reach them both is about the same.
Henninger Flats is a campground and is home to the County of Los Angeles Fire Department "Forestry Division" which is manned by one or two firefighters.

Informative and fun video! That frog really really liked you. Looks like a great quiet place to relax after the nice hike too.

Great stuff, man... cool shots over the rocks on the river thingy!

thanks for the view. I have a tight schedule but the local fires are gonna slow me down a bit....
Cool hike, made me tired just watching.
Andrew Harrington thanks. You about ready to start magfishing again???
Love the San Gabriels!
I agree...there is so much more than meets the eye. May next video has a great capture of some deer. It was from a distance with my phone so It may be a bit grainy but awesome never the less.
I've gotten video of Bighorn Sheep and Mule Deer on the same hike back in Aug 2017. I need to find the SD card so I can upload it to my channel! Of course, the animals were a bit far off too, but great to see nevertheless!
@@brianpowell5082 cool...I will check your stuff out when I get a chance....
thanks. I love uploading my hikes!
We need new video por favor…..
I agree.... because of the rain, the water is too high to safely get back there...but soon

Great View at 5:00!
Iliterally Can'teven thanks...would be even better on a day the wind blows all the haze away. It’s a great uphill workout to Henninger Flats.
Don't get lost!
I will try not to....but maybe it would be nice to for a while!
How do you get the permit to camp there ?
dropthe_bass 21 I haven not seen anyone camp near falls. Only up the road at Henninger Flat. But there is a nature center that can advise. 626-398-5420 is their listed number
