For $2,000,000....

- Deal or No Deal hasn't done it yet. 1 VS 100 hasn't done it yet. Millionaire did it, only once, and I believe it happened first.
But Greed was the first gameshow ever to give away $2,000,000 in one shot. Here it is. - Розваги
I watched this show religiously for the atmosphere and sound fx
This is what got me into really watching game shows, the stakes, the suspense, the awesome music. Greed ended way too soon...
I definitely agree . it should at least gotten a second season .
NO show ever had me on the edge of my seat like Greed.
STRAIGHT FACTS!!!!!!
Only a handful of game show hosts were born to excel in that profession. Chuck Woolery is one of those hosts. I would love to see Greed come back myself.
Do u wish wanna be a game show host?
This game show was so intense. I wish they would revive this one. The music alone did it for me.
One of the better quiz shows in my opinion. This and Millionaire were my favorites growing up.
yeah I did watch this show!
+jtb1990419 I prefer Greed compared to Millionaire.
Me too, and by the way your youtube name is cool.
Greed needs to make a comeback. I loved that damn game show.
The money amounts and the pressure of this show were so great it was obscene....
I LOVED IT!! :)
I used to be afraid of this show because of the background music. Also, it was a game show. But I can watch it now, yay :D
Same
@@TomCurtis-t2r I also used to be and still am of the music.
It reminds me you a drive down a ghost town at night in the middle a desert dust storm.
I wish they still did Greed, not just doing reruns. Greed is my favorite gameshow.
Favorite show probably of all time.
This is just perfect.
the music was awesome!!
I'm so glad Greed was able to give the $2,000,000 even if it was just one time and with more than one person.
The Terminator, that crap used to scare me. I'd be like, "Who's it gonna pick?!" Haha
The Terminator question is such a lame way to lose though. Why not let the one they challenge have a multiple choice question where they either stay or eliminate themselves.
Much like in the past Game Show called Legends Of The Hidden Temple where the player was scared right out of the Temple by a Temple Guard in The Tomb Of The Ancient Kings.
Solved this not because I knew the answers, but because I knew the four wrong answers.
You and me both buddy... ^^
Jonathan Caballeros same here
In the world of game shows, there was no other that built the intensity and suspense like Greed.
I knew none of the events that happened in the 90s. But luckily I knew that Nintendo and New Coke were 1985 and Berlin Wall and Exxon Valdez were 1989. So I would have taken home the $2M on knowing all the wrong answers.
LOL!
Bwhahaha. Same here basically. The only one I know that did happen in the 90's was Carson's last show.
Nintendo, if i remember correctly, was introduced in 1981. That's at least the copyright year for Super Mario Bros. I do at least know SMB3 was 1983.
Games are in the making before their console gets released
Matthew Skidmore: Nintendo as a video game company was around 1979 in Japan. Donkey Kong came out for Arcades in 1982. 1985 was the NES. 1988 should be SMB1 and 1993 should be SMB3.
The shows that I think need to start airing reruns on GSN: Greed, Who Wants to be a Millionaire primetime & syndicated, Deal or No Deal primetime, Family Feud episodes with all hosts, & Weakest Link. I say Weakest Link because it's been years since I've seen any versions of that, & I remember I used to really like it.
I agree! I liked George Gray better than Anne Robinson for The Weakest Link. I've never seen anyone win the top prize on either version, and people hardly ever made the target on the version with Anne Robinson.
logan..there are only 44 eps of Greed. GSN reran those to DEATH. Same with all the other shows..more episodes, same abuse.
@@ryanschroer I got to see the GSN airings of Greed once. I never knew it was running up until 2008 and i'm pissed that i didn't know it was still on back then. Now I wish reruns would turn back up again on GSN or Buzzr.
I remembered watching this a few years back. Loved this show.
Can I just point out how amazing Phillis is? Her payout was les than her teammates because they all clearly participated in terminator things, but when given the chance, she did not take it knowing what she was about to be in for. She then was as confident and steady as I've ever seen a captain be, and that little bit of human psychology is likely why they all went for it. Revive greed and bring Daniel Avila and her back as two people on its first team.
I remember that this was the one episode of Greed I could not watch solo as a kid. We were all heading to my Uncles, but to my surprise, it was on when we got there and I heard my aunt say "They're about to win two million dollars". I wish I'd seen this in full then, I was already in love with Greed and would've fallen even more for it at the time. By far, the best of the Kubrick influenced games (Millionaire, Weakest Link, etc).
This team was a carryover, their last episode ran out of time before getting to the $2million.
She must be a great person to know.
She was also on Millionaire, Wheel of Fortune and Grand Slam
FOX needs this show back.
I would love to see this show come back!
I agree. There's no way that this show shouldn't deserved to be dead. It can't.
This show was AMAZING! If it ever came back, I'd watch FAITHFULLY... and try to be a contestant.
This show scares the crap out of me. This would be the setting of a gameshow in a nightmare.
I was going to say that it looks like this show took place in the early 90s, but this must have happened after 2000. Holy crap!
I absolutely LOVED greed and watch the re-runs all the time on gsn. Cant believe such an awesome show like this isnt still around and only lasted 44 episodes. I'd watch this over millionaire anytime, or any other game show on today as well.
Back when GSN had more variety
I really miss this show. It was all about skill combined with drama. None of this "luck of the draw" crap, as it took raw intelligence to climb the ladder. The stage setting, the music...the whole concept was acme.
wow I forgot about this show it really was a great show
You are totally right. Don't forget about teamwork.
Best game show ever. Bring it back and replace So You Think You Can Dance with this.
Me too! It needs to come back! I don't care if it's primetime or syndicated, it just needs to come back!
this was my favorite game show!!! they should bring it back.
This was one of my favorite game shows.
Greed was my all time favorite game show it just sucks it didnt last to long. i would give anything for a revival of this show
And for those who don't know, they did NOT go for the $4 million question. David said it best, "Forget Curtis Warren. Show ME the money!"
Only knew about the Berlin wall not being in the 90's these people are good
great show....would like to see it on again
They may have been all cool and calm at that moment, but I'm sure they all shit bricks and freaked out about two seconds into the commercial break.
Damn I miss that show. It was one of my new favorites.
No other game show has such a fitting name.
Greed needs to really come back.
I agree.
@@arielgonzalez5296 Me too & there should be a Live version except that it’s not on TV once the Covid Pandemic comes to an end.
Cool, calm, and collected.
$2,000,000? No problem.
Yes. And 6 years ago in November, she'd go on Millionaire primetime, and pick up $64K.
I remember watching this episode when it aired and thinking "David has the hair of a lego guy."
I agree, that questions was easy and I knew all the answers too.
David is laughing 'cause he knows that the question was right. Rofl.
That'd be the greatest feeling ever.
1 vs 100, Greed, and Dog Eat Dog, are BY FAR the best gameshows - and they are all off the TV. :(
1 vs 100 needs to come back. Definitely agree!
Omg I loved this show!
I miss this show
Me too. I don't know why they stopped it? I would've loved to be on it, although I new none of the answers to this question.
FOX renewed it for the fall and reversed its ruling before filming. STUPID. It was the height of Millionaire, but the way Chuck did it made it great first-run television. He and the show had the edge and energy that Millionaire did not.
FOX dropped the ball on this show and Alien Nation.
Who ARE the execs up there?! Lol
@@terryp2517 That's were I wanna know as well.
Please anyone? Does anyone have that clip of Lisa and John going for the $2 million question about things that happened before MTV? That one was EPIC!
I'm looking for that one also, they took the cars and the captain changed the wrong answer.
@@cutemimi25 Forget just the clip, if you or anyone happens to find that whole episode and post it here on UA-cam i will love you/them forever!
Remember, they still didn't beat the game at this point. They can still go for 4 million. Thats why the confetti didn't fall...
Such an easy question. I knew it because all the other 4 were the 80s
And upon walking, David put it best: "Forget Curtis Warren. Show ME the money." (looks like he and the team must've seen Dan's shows, including the heartbreaking $2.2 million loss)
This was the best show ever
This was easy!! I knew immediately which 4 occurred in the 90s and I was born in 1994 lol. I love how they all clap and are happy when he says "Garcia dies".
I didn't know which things had happened in the '90s, but I did know which ones DIDN'T.
Oh, okay. Thanks for clearing that up!
Seems like so many good game shows don't last. What a shame.
David does look like a Lego guy! I can't believe I didn't see that!
I actually watched this when it happened. I couldn't believe they made it that far!
Well, they split $2,000,000 among three people, but still it happened.
They decided to walk away.
"Greed" takes a massive shit on "Deal or No Deal!" This is a game about knollege and skill, rather than a shallow-minded game of luck! Why it only lasted a year I'll never know, because I know it had vary good ratings!
Acutally, Greed Was The First Gameshow Ever To Give Away $2,000,000 And Like You Said Also In One Shot, It Wasnt Until April Of 2001 That Kevin Olmstead Won $2,180,000 On Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, Making Him The Biggest Winner Of That Time Until Ken Jenkings Took The Record. Super Greed Was May 2000.
david is happy because he know it was right all along lol
I loved Greed. We had it here in the UK, but it only lasted one season.
i miss this show
clairance thomas is sitting at home going "How anti-climactic!"
In California, there was once a show (that got canned about a few weeks ago) called The Big Spin, and a person won 3 Million dollars. It was produced by the California Lottery, now it's Make me a Millionaire, which sucks....
The Berlin Wall almost fell in the 1990's, but it fell in 1989 I think.
Your correct Nov 9 1989...
logantew15 The first part of your answer does not make sense... if it fell in 1989 it cant almost fell in the 1990's it already did fall...
+Breandan Kong hahaha, I don't know why but this answer is funny! lol
+Breandan Kong are you stupid?
+Neo Geo His correct?
if one of the answers they gave her was wrong, she would hunt them down
The only thing I hated about Greed was when they asked 'most popular' questions instead of questions based on fact.
This was such a great show, I miss watching reruns of it on GSN. As for the question itself, I got all of them but 1 right. The only one I missed was instead of Michael Jackson, I said the Exxon Valdez disaster
But the $2 million wasn't one person only!
That guy that pressed the button scared me
I wonder why they didn't stop the music right after Chuck called for the 4th and final answer. That would've increased the suspense dramatically!
This is cool because I never knew somebody won the 2 million legit.
did they quit or go on for $4M ?
DBR00 They quit!
David: $800,000
Lauren: $800,000 (+$10,000 from a terminator showdown)
Phyllis: $400,000
i missed this show!! =(
Darn, I guessed the Berlin Wall. :/
.
MultiJejje Your insult doesn't work, given that I'm not American.
It fell in 1989
@@davidogara1334 It was indeed.
but it was super greed they only did that for like 2 or 3 episodes for sweeps season. This game show will always rank in the top 5 of game shows in my book
1 VS 100 had the first million winner!
I was in Berlin in Feb 90 when we began tearing down the Wall in the heart of the city. An Amazing event. Even now, I am looking at three Large chunks of it that I brought home.
-- K.O.; Indiana
February 90?
Definitely not Nintendo, the NES was introduced to U.S. in 1985.
Oh my god it’s Chuck Woolery
prime-time gameshows were so the 90's. sure they still have them today, but they're really not the sort of trivia-based "smart" questions that were in this, millionaire, and a few others
Ah, the Terminator. We meet again.
Yeah, same here.
Great question. Someone's gotta' have the answer.
They didn't even try the $4 mil and walked away with the $2mil
@Austinbit Actually, a new version of 1 V 100 is on GSN (but: half-hour, top prize now 50k). Sadly, the others don't air.
Oh man the only one I knew for certain was that Berlin Wall was right before the 1990's. Good thing I payed attention a little bit in school.
The rest is why those 3 deserved the 2 mil dollars. Carson's last show? Michael Jackson's marriage? Who the hell knows?
The reason the offer was in cash for that question was that a previous Super Greed team took the car offer on a previous $2M question.
Ya see, Bill Cosby introduced the Brand New Coke (in the 80's), and it'll be around forever...heheheh...
I thought that the cocaine added a certain taste.
now all of the game shows you listed have done it
I loved watching Greed! Why'd Fox cancell it if it was such a success!
That did happen with Dan, Melissa, and Curtis. Melissa had already won one, and she turned down the next one.
legally the wall was over in october of 1990 but the physical wall itself was started to taken down in Nov 89
I believe he/she is saying that WWTBAM had gave away two million dollars before any other game show, but they only gave away 2 million dollars once. As in two different contestants had both each won 2 million dollars, as opposed to Greed giving 2 million away in one sitting. Just a guess though, truly confusing.
This was relatively easy, IMO? Nintendo and New Coke are synonymous with the 80's, Berlin Wall falling in 1989 is modern history 101, and you can already eliminate few very known 90's events like the original early 90's Tonight Show fiasco after Carson left, Thomas appointed by GHWB in the early 90's (currently the earliest appointed justice) and his Anita Hill scandal, Jackson being at peak controversy in the 90's and having newborns then, and Jerry Garcia dying in the 90's being a fairly known fact. So despite not knowing too much about the Exxon Valdez disaster, I pretty easily figured it out as well by process of elimination and I'm not even American, considering they're US-centric questions.
Mine too!
