- Greed episode dated December 2, 1999. In this episode we will pick up the Brian/Troy/Robert winning $500,000 at the last program. Will they go for the million? Later on we will see another team of Andrew Valcanez goes for $2.45 million and beyond with an unusual terminator lost with the correct answer. At the end of the episode later, Chuck informed us that Greed will be a regular programme. Hosted by Chuck Woolery. Enjoy.

The one thing I loved about this game show is they played that mysterious music.
The fade out and dead silence when revealing if a final answer was right or wrong freaked me out. Loved it XD
I LOVED the entire theming of the show. I equated the entire look and sound with a cold bank vault. Loads of money inside, but would you make it out with it all?
As an old soul person for 1999, this episode is definitely gives me the chills I miss watching Greed as a kid.
My sister told me these were on youtube. I have thoroughly enjoyed re-watching these!!!
Damn, feel bad for David. The finish the question rule shouldn't be a thing, he should've been brought back.
He couldn't even have know for sure the question wasn't finished.
That part was really weird to me, didn't Chuck ALWAYS say "you can buzz in anytime" during Terminator showdowns? I swear this rule didn't exist. Unless they saw this occurrence and changed it in later episodes or something.
They should have explained it first if that was a disqualification. Not saying that he'd go ballistic on TV but I'd have been livid.
@@HiroiSekai they properly got a contract telling every rule of the game, but the really unfair is the question sounded completed when he buzzed
@@HiroiSekai Exactly - yes the rule changed later, and yes it was a silly rule.
@@HiroiSekai Later on, they let the contestants buzz in when they felt like they knew the answer. So yes, you are right. They had an episode where they brought back some of the losers of past episodes and David wasnt on it. Looking back on it, that was the really weird part.
Thank you so much for being a member of the Greed Upload Hero Club!
No worries! Enjoy!!
@@lawandorder888do you have the episode with the "smells" question?

@@HelwigDorsuo ua-cam.com/video/z4VhEVEzqGY/v-deo.html
Some people don’t like Cauliflower, so I knew that was a wrong answer. I thought it was Squash, but I was wrong there.
Sometimes, they put random answers thinking that nobody would choose them, and they were right again, since nobody would’ve thought of picking Chopped Spinach.
I really wanted a contestant to stare confidently into the camera and say "UNEMPLOYED" when introducing themselves.
Edgardo Falcon Jr. did that in the episode from June 23.
My favourite game shows thank you so much for the upload
Thanks for the episode! 👍
That $200K question was Too Easy!!!
They should’ve made this Question;
“Which 4 of the former 6 US Presidents has a State Capitol named after them?!
- Washington
- Jefferson
- Madison
- Monroe
- Jackson
- Lincoln
Jefferson
Madison
Jackson
Lincoln
after troys team stopped , the other teams had no idea what they were doing
This was the 5th and final episode of the $2 million jackpot increasing by $50,000 for each time a team missed the question. Next episode would become Greed The Series, and also in the Terminator, contestants are no longer required to "wait until Chuck finishes the question".
oh so they did actually have that idiotic rule.
I knew for certain that players buzzed in before him finishing the question. That man 100% got robbed. Im really surprised he didnt sue or get some kind of corrective action.
@@hithere3897 though it's a stupid rule, it's not illegal
18:34 is an incredibly awkward moment to watch, especially with the correct sound effect being played afterward. Good thing that this rule was wiped out later on.
When game show rules get changed people who participated before the change(s) should be allowed another chance.
@@svin7987 agreed. especially if the team won, then they really get cheated
5 grooves around a quarter Pam? What!!!!! 🤣😭
LMAO I know, right! I don't think she has any idea how super lucky she was she made the team with that low answer lol
i laughed so hard when i saw that. That means the other person guessed super high.
Did anybody ever count and see if they were correct?
2:32 I can tell that you're up for the challenge, Brian.
Eve is an Internet producer, yet she thought the computer wasn’t the most impotent invention in the century.
It's not. It is important though
And the survey was done by America Online
i'll be honest with you. When i saw the question I also instantly thought of television. It was only AFTER seeing AOL it became obvious that it was computer. Otherwise no tv would have won hands down. Many people didnt even own computers then, they were extremly expensive
13:53: Great guess, Courtney. It worked.
His name is Michael Peterson, he’s from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and he’s a writer.😉
40:30 Welcome back to greed everybody. Our next team would have been playing for $2,600,000.00. But unfortunately we are out of time.
it never made a difference. Nobody ever won the 2 million.
22:45 32:00 39:58 wrong answers
Scott a Weak Captain, and Eve a WEAKER Teammate!
Didn’t they hear the AOL part of the Question, of which Invention was the Greatest of the 20th Century?! I feel bad for the rest of the team that they lost $100K, because of a Loser Captain & an Old Lady.
On 18:34, the rules are that you can not ring in early too soon. You have to wait until Chuck finishes the question. With that, that's automatically disqualified, even though you said the right answer!
in Jeopardy you also have to wait til the answer is finished, but you don't get disqualified if you press before
David got cheated on that Terminator question. Big time!
Agreed. They made a needed change to make it into a series to where you can ring in anytime you know the answer.
@@BlackwoodCompany Agree. I also wonder what the heck Chuck is doing when he cycles through the terminator question cards multiple times. You can totally rig the questions in somebody's favour - e.g. the South Park question when you have Courtney, a college student, and John, a retiree. Upon its debut it was a show for teenagers (like myself) and young adults, which totally put Courtney at an advantage IMO. Nadine is Jamaican and David American, so you'd think that a question about a major American corporation would favour David.
Yeah I never saw where Chuck had to finish reading the question on any other episodes. Someone must have realized that was a dumb rule.
@@fredericknewman5398 This was an early episode and i think the rule was changed after this episode, the series got serialized.
Well then again the team lost anyway. Darrel Casalino lost on a bigger technicality, I think. His Terminator opponent answered "Janet Reno" when the question didn't ask for the attorney general but rather the name of the Nevada city. Technically though she wasn't wrong because she did say "Reno" which was the correct answer but to be fair I think Darrell should've been brought back but I guess wasn't since that episode was so close to the end of the run.
22:45 - WHAT! WHAT! WHAT! It's Chopped Spinach over Cauliflower. I thought Cauliflower was right for sure. Awww, I can't believe that. That was disappointing to see Cauliflower being the wrong answer. Andrew feel disappointed that Cauliflower was the wrong answer. Unfortunately, the team was chopped spinach because they took the chance and lost a half a million dollars.
I totally agree - I thought that chopped spinach was the most obvious "wrong" answer of the seven choices presented because it doesn't makes sense to freeze spinach, given that it's a leafy vegetable? All other options (including baby carrots, squash and cauliflower) are solid items, which (IMO) lend themselves better to freezing. I feel that cauliflower is way more popular than squash, so I was expecting this team to get the questions right. I suppose this question illustrates why these survey type questions are maligned by many fans of Greed, including myself.
Ward was on Greed before, but didn't get past the qualifying question, were Daniel Avila, Curtis Warren & Melissa won 1 million, Daniel went on for 2.2 million...
Is this the last show that chuck has to finish the question before they changed the rule..
Ward lost the qualifying question for the team with Daniel Avila and Curtis Warren.
Thought you could buzz in when you knew the answer. Since when does Chuck have to finish the question? David got robbed.
Apparently as long as the show is called "Greed: the Multi Million Dollar Challenge" with the progressive jackpot, you're not allowed to ring in on the Terminator before Chuck finishes the question.
Was David ever brought back
The unfair is the question sounded pretty finished when he pressed the button.
If this were Jeopardy!, the producers would have kept the buzzers off until the host read the last word of the question.
exactly@@RJN0607
I wonder why Dick Clark himself didn't host this show as his production company created this.
He was hosting Winning Lines at that point on CBS
This aired on the same day one of my best friends was born
Also for that Vegetables Question, I would have guessed the following 4.
1: Green Peas
2: Whole Kernel Corn
3: Mixed Vegetables
4: Squash
Prior to this episode, all non-captains answered their individual questions correctly. In this episode, all three contestants in the $100K seats gave wrong answers to their captains, a streak that the following episode made 4 in a row and 5 out of 6.
I can't remember if it was stated in the rules or was changed later on but David should not have been disqualified for clocking in too early. I know in other episodes anyone can buzz in at any time they know the answer
100%. supposedly someone says they changed the rules but im skeptical because i never saw anywhere them mentioning this rule. Unlike wheel of fortune where they tell you not to add anything for crossword category puzzles.
@@hithere3897 of course the participants are told all the rules, but the question sounded finished when David buzzed
Wow. Never seen that moment before at 18:37 on Greed.
Fortunately Greed The Series fixed this. Contestants can buzz in anytime they think they know the answer instead of "wait until Chuck finishes the question".
@@ryankeegan3956 I'm glad they fixed that. It seems unfair when buzzing in before Chuck finishing the question can cost you.
@@movietv20249 Yes. It's so stupid. They must've realized that.
Yeah, i feel bad for David. They really should have brought him back.
At least there should be a way for the participants to know for sure when the question is finished.
congratulations to greed the series for a pressive 25 years in the making congratulations keep that milestone going congratulations 🎊
22:45 Wrong answer

What are we, chopped spinich? The answer to that is Yes. Unfortuantely they took a chance and lost a half a million dollars.
The captains kind of dropped the ball here.
the first time ever i was furious about the show.
They absolutely robbed that guy for buzzing in early. I 100% saw other episodes that people did this exact sme thing and nothing was ever mentioned.
This isnt jeopardy where you actually see the clue and know when it ends.
Fun fact: COURTNEY would later appear as a contestant on the 2003 revamped version of Shop Til You Drop with JD Roberto.

I remember Courtney was also on Russian Roulette.

My initial guess was spinnach, cauliflower, mixed vegetables and peas. Then I realized corn was definitely correct.
so since everyone is supposed to know the rules for the game they play (refrence to the terminator no early buzzing allowed) what in the world was the rule if neither contestant knew the answer and didnt ring in.
Did they look at each other for an hour? both get sent home? both stay? press the button because of the awkwardness? other?
nobody has ever said this. Did this ever happen on an episode?
After this, Brian Noonan appeared on "Russian Roulette" and won $11,750. He decided to take what he got, walk away, and he would have dropped if he decided to go for it.
That's correct. He did very well that game. And I remember that there was contestant named "Kevin" who made fun of him because of his weight. I'm glad that guy dropped in the 3rd round.
There was a contestant named John, and everybody remembers him for saying “Eat my dust, man.”
@@theweysermanisback5205 Oh yeah. He had a funny reaction when he dropped in the 2nd round.
He sure did.
Every time a team misses a question, they could lose everything.😏
Nadine, the terminator has chosen you. Is there anyone on this team that you want to call out for their money and their position. I will give you $10,000 if you challenge someone.
Nadine: I want to challenge David.
David, here we go.
The winner will play for 200,000. The loser will be out of the game.
What company recently lost a judgment and was ruled...: David buzzes in and said: "Microsoft." He's right however Chuck didn't even finish the question!! Because David rung in too soon and that's an automatic disqualification, so that means David is out and Nadine is still in the game and will play for 200,000. (The rest of the question was "was ruled a monopoly.")
Now we are down to three. Three people will be going for a half a million dollars. Nadine and Courtney are both playing for 200,000 while Andrew will play for 100,000.
For $500,000 According to Bird's Eyes. What are their top four of the following seven selling frozen vegetables of the past year?
Baby carrots, Chopped spinach, Whole Kernel Corn, Cauliflower, Mixed vegetables, Squash, Green Peas.
Andrew wants to use the freebie and it will take out Baby carrots. So Courtney, let's start with you.
Courtney: I'm gonna with Green Peas.
Green Peas - that's one. Nadine?
Nadine: Mixed vegetables.
Mixed vegetables. That's two. Andrew?
Andrew: I think I'm going with Cauliflower.
Cauliflower. That's three. Now, Andrew you can either answer the last one yourself or hand that last answer to one of your teammates
Andrew: I am gonna hand the last answer to Nadine.
Nadine, you got the last answer.
Nadine: I'm gonna say Whole Kernal Corn.
Whole Kernal Corn. That is four. Now Andrew, is there one answer that you want to change? You can only change one answer that you're not sure of.
Andrew: NO, as good as I can get Chuck so let's just lock everything in and let's leave it the way it is.
Chuck: You want to leave it the way it is? Ok, here we go. Let's find out how you guys do because this is for a half a million dollars.
Is Whole Kernel Corn one of them? Yes, that's one.
Is Green Peas there? Yes! That's two. You're only two away from a half a million dollars.
How about Mixed Vegetables - is that in there? YES!
Well, Andrew. I got lots of money for you. I offered you $20,000 last time. This time is $50,000. I don't know how confident you are about Cauliflower being the last answer. If Cauliflower is not correct, you go home with nothing. But if it is correct, you would have 100,000 while both of Nadine and Courtney have 200,000. You take the $50,000 and distribute it three ways or you can risk it all by taking a chance on Cauliflower being the last answer to see if you guys can get a half a million dollars on this one.
Andrew: Chuck, I like cauliflower personally. I'm betting that that people like Bird's eyes cauliflower then too. So I think let's keep it and I think we are going for it.
Chuck: You think Cauliflower is right.
(Applause)
Chuck: Well, I hope you're right.
Andrew: So do I, Chuck. I can use the money.
Chuck: I know you can and I'm sure you can. All right, for one half million dollars, is it Cauliflower?
NO. It's not Caulflower. It was Chopped Spinich. did either one of you have it oh we're gonna take a commercial break. Come right back at you. Oh that's too bad I'm so sorry. didn't give you the money. I thought it was Cauliflower for sure.

Courtney: I want to challenge John.
John, here we go.
The winner will play for $80,000. The loser will be going home with nothing and be out of the game.
What is the name of the South Park character that gets killed at the end of virtually every episode? No one buzzes in for a moment, then Courtney buzzes in and said: "Kenny???" She's right!! That means John is out and Courtney survives and will play for $80,000.
We are down to four. Four people will be going for $200,000. Everybody will play for $40,000 except for Courtney who will play for $80,000 because she won the terminator.
For $200,000, What were the last four of the following six states to become part of the USA?
Alaska, Arizona, Florida, Hawaii, New Mexico, Colorado
Andrew, because your team reach this level, you earned a freebie - that is good to take away one wrong answer for any question all the way to $2 MILLION. So do you want to use it now or wait until the next question?
Andrew: NO, we're going to wait until later on in the game.
Chuck: OK, so we'll put it right there. So Courtney, I will be asking for a correct answer.
Courteny: I'm pretty sure it's Hawaii.
Chuck: Hawaii - that's one. Nadine?
Nadine: Alaska.
Chuck: Alaska: That's two. David?
David: Arizona
Chuck: Arizona - that's three. Andrew?
Andrew: Looks like I want to go with New Mexico.
Chuck: New Mexico. That is four. Now, Andrew - is there anything that you want to change, because you are the captain - you got the power to do that. You can only change one answer.
Andrew: Nope I want to leave things the way it is.
Chuck: You think these four are correct. Ok, let's find out how you guys do.
Is Hawaii one of them? Yes. That's one.
Is Alaska there? Yes. That's two.
How about Arizona - is that correct? Yes. That's three.
Well, Andrew. We're down to your answer. I don't know how sure you are about New Mexico being the last answer. I got $20,000 - that is yours to keep - just in case if New Mexico is a wrong answer. You can distribute that four ways or you can risk it all to see if New Mexico is worth $200,000. It's up to you.
Andrew: Chuck, I think I am pretty sure that New Mexico is correct.
Chuck: You think it's correct. Ok. I hope you're right. For $200,000, is it New Mexico?
