I saw a lot of affluent looking people shopping for reps when I went on a trip to Thailand which made me question if people are really spending thousands on watches, clothing, handbags and shoes. Unless you are an expert on brands you wont be able to tell if you wear with confidence and play the part. You gotta fake it till you make it.

Selling a fake Rolex is criminal under the Trademark Infringement and counterfeit goods laws. That’s why they’re doing their very best to avoid buying fakes, as they can’t sell them back if it slips through. I highly doubt they would risk selling a fake given the consequences.
People not involved in the watch market would be surprised to know how many fakes are sold as authentic. With the sellers knowingly involved.

Another thing is to not buy incomplete watches . If you have a new complete set with the hang tags 🏷️ then you can tell yourself.. only going to an AD some people will wait 1-5 years for a watch and have a big chance of it being discontinued before they get it then you have to go grey or buy a watch you didn’t want

Even in the best fakes You can tell it’s fake when you turn the gmt hand and also by the stack of the hands. Hour/gmt/minutes/seconds
The fakes are gmt/hour etc..
Also usually the feel of the bracelet and the rotor can sound spinny
Cyclops Color and the shade of blue in the bezel and the platinum infill are also very specific and hard to copy.
The Cyclops magnification is also a big tell. A Rolex said collapse will really magnify the date. A knockoff will only show a slight magnification. When you see them side by side, you will never be fooled again.

I’m pretty sure it’s not a crime. I just think people should stop buying watches from anywhere. For example, I shop at Nordstroms and when I do I don’t wonder if my clothes are fake because Nordstroms doesn’t have time for that. I’m not on EBay trying to find a better price. I’m pretty sure they could find an authorized dealer instead of the guy in the alley with a trench coat.

20yrs my first buy was my wife's engagement ring. Trust builds relationships and that trust is why that same jeweler is to this day the only person/family that I buy all my jewelry from. Cleaning insurance paperwork custom work u name it all done by them.my kids will be going to them soon.edit btw I'm not talking about the jewelers in thus vid I'm talking about my personal relationship with my jeweler.

Understand how Rolex creates bi-color bezels and how they design their movements and you can deduce where the stuff that cannot be faked is.

Another reason why I’d never buy a luxury watch. There’s so many other great Swiss watches out there at or below $1k. I’d love to own the Omega seamaster 007 Commander or snoopy speedmatster, but I’d never Be able to walk around comfortably with that much money on my wrist.
