    I love the way the L sound is swallowed in Austrian dialect. As in (not sure how to write this): Des is mia zu vueh

    Do your 5 tips apply everywhere in Austria? I only speak Hochdeutsch, but my understanding is that Wienerisch is somewhat different from Tirolisch (which is close to Bairisch).

      They do. Despite all the variations of the Austrian dialect (almost every little village has their own characteristics), the Austrian dialect overall, belongs to the Bavarian dialect group. So, the dialect from most regions in Austria share the same characteristics. Except Voradlberg, which belongs to the Allemanic dialect group and is completely different.

    Learn German for years just to learn that a whole country decided to completely change the language on you. Bavarian speakers probably not worth talking to anyway right?
