Josh if you could do videos about best iems in every budget that would be really great like say $50 and you can do video on iem + smartphone Setup for people like me who just want to listen to good quality music
I am using ssr for 2 years and i am very happy to bought this iem. Because the game performance is very good. I am sitting on pc 8 hours in a day but this iem so comfortable. Moondrop is good iem manufacturer
quarks have a very sennheiser-y sound presentation to them. it takes me more than a simple glance to point out any kind of substantial difference in the sound between the quarks and my hd650s
I would love a pair of IEMs that fit...and I wish these did..... Despite trying a few other brands along with swapping out for custom tips, I can never get a good enough fit. Ultimately, I went with the (currently) $9.99 Venture Monk earbuds. They have little optional foam "booties" that keep them sitting snugly and securely without having to insert anything in my ear canal....and the sound quality?... for the price? .... they punch way above their weight..... excellent for music (and convenient for Audiobooks and podcasts), great separation, responsive highs and mids with enough bass to round out the sound.... at that price I now have 4 pairs floating around the house and bought a fews as gifts for friends and fam......
I did the same with my arias and they still play sound, just not good sound. Looking to pick up the quarks dsp as a short term replacement as I save up again lol
I don't know you guys but with the Chus I feel like I'm listening to music through a high-pass filter... totally unlistenable to me. Quarks are a bit better on that front and I prefer them to the Chus. Anyway, just spend 10 more and get the BLON BL-03, fuller sound thanks to the bass (maybe a tad too much) and soundstage and detail are all there with good treble, so much so that I consider them on par with the Arias.
How does the Moondrop SSR compared to these two it's slightly more expensive but it's fairly affordable, I never owned them would be cool to see a review of them from you.
Hey Josh, I have a pair of the Diokos in hand, and pairs of the Z12s and Truthear x Crin Zeros on the way as well if you want to borrow any for a review. Love your channel and the honest reviews. We definitely dont like the same sound but i appreciate your input on everything i currently own - i watch your reviews beforehand or after already purchasing to see if you hear some of what i hear lol. My wife definitely finds my growing collection of headphones, IEMs and Dac/Amps worrysome at this point haha. Cheers to the hobby!
hey there josh! awesome video! i recommended the Chu's to one of my friends as his first High quality IEMs and he loved it alot, also i really am thinking of getting the ikko OH10 and would appreciate it greatly if you ever made a video about it!
Thsi was great content as usual Josh! thanks for sharing your thoughts. by the way, have you considered trying the new Neuman NDH 30? are they on your radar at all?
I think you need to do another video specifically for iem comparison at the same price..I prefer Moondrop Chu Vs CCA Cra+ Vs Tripowin lea Vs KZ EDA balanced.
I couldnt stand the over ear design of the CHUs cable, so might check out the Quarks. Its a shame as i do like the Chu's sounds (even if it does sound a bit too harsh sometimes to me)
Me: bought CRA+ for 17$ (free shipment from KZ Indonesia's official store) and add a pair of medium size Springtips 4$ from a local store. 21$ complete with detachable cable and usable when you're listening songs or rain sound before sleep without being scared to broke the cable. I just don't understand the concept of broke one thing and you throw everything, why? I can't get the value of Chu beside the sound(?). Is the sound that mindbogglingly good?
with detachable cables, it has happened to me more than once that the connector made the case of the cheap IEM split open when mistreated in bed. Fixed cable iems have never had that happen.
noo don't use the quarks for workout lmaoo I accidentally slept with mine and I tore the cable also, the cables tend to get stiff when exposed to sweat and skin oil and stuff
You da man. Nice way to start my day 🙂 I think that you were fairly safe calling them low risk (ha ha 😂). I've spilled martinis that cost more 😜 Thank you
How come you’ve never reviewed kinera iems? They’re really great, I absolutely love the idun golden iems. Im also kinda surprised you never reviewed the Sivga SV021 those headphones made waves around the internet.
It's because SV021 (aka Robins) are excessively boomy, bloated and have an imbalanced sound signature in comparison to those in the same price bracket. They got waves because of great marketing and tie-ups with tech influencers, but great marketing is just that, it doesn't automatically infer great sound/quality.
I have been waiting for this perspective Joshua since most of your reviews are not really technical. Such that it sounds pedantic, too much for an "audiophile". I am glad how this affirms my budgef decisions lol especially one of my notable watches from you is how you covered the apple lightning dongle.
I like the JWST wallpaper on your screen. Ha. Nerd. I got here because I need an IEM for edrums. I now ordered the Moondrop Aria, I think that would be more fun together with the buttkicker. ... Hahaha yeah no I wouldn’t buy any of these, simply because of the attached cable. For this price Id rather go for kbear or cca and get something that might sound worse, but has a detachable cable and thus is likely going to last me twice as long as one of these. Otherwise you can spend like 40$ for similarly great moon drop spaceship pulse iems, but with a detachable cable (idk for sure I don’t have any of these to actually compare).

Quarks have no bass to speak of. I guess I should’ve known better to expect good bass response from tiny drivers. The rest of the spectrum is satisfactory in my opinion.

Why don’t you use the overear cable pads that come with the Chu?
You are just human and That’s appealing…😄😎
I switched the tips out to Comply series 500 foam isolating tips. The bass instantly improved and the foam tamed the high peak nicely.
I love reviews of good budget IEM made by someone that is used to high end stuff

The next morning the pizza seems like a schitty deal.

Besides the sound quality, I like how they look and how insanely tiny they are

Quarks looks like a good option for sleeping: lightweight, more relaxed sound signature, cheap.
i mean if you sleep with them the cable is gonna break rlly fast
