A lot of people will say that’s not a problem because it will have a warranty but what are you going to do while it’s in the shop waiting in line? Other than calling the dealer non stop begging for your shit back? Even if I did buy something brand new I would do all my own work. Most of the time they don’t even honor the warranty. Dealerships don’t like losing money. As a full time mechanic we are always going back and forth with insurance companies and dealerships trying to get them to pay. That extra money spent on extended warranty and all that is more than enough to stack up for repairs down the road. It’s a rip off anyway it goes. You pay on that warranty the whole time and if you added it up you spent thousands on that and your truck only broke 1 time.
