Thank you for sharing your creativity, Meg! I needed this video today. I recently shared an art journal I was making with a "real" artist who barely glanced at it and set it aside as if it was the dumbest thing she's ever seen. The old me would have been ashamed to see my work rejected. I realize now and especially from watching your video's that creativity cannot be judged by others because its an expression of oneself. This "real" artist copies pictures using pastels and they are quite lovely, but she failed to see that my art journal came from within and was more than just cutting out paper and gluing it randomly into a book. I love knowing that there is a whole community of art journal enthusiasts and I'm grateful for all of those who share their personal work on UA-cam.
I’m so sorry you had that experience! In my fine art class at college we were actually encouraged to keep “visual diaries”, which was basically art journaling without calling it that! Glad you’ve found this community online, everyone is always so encouraging! And if you’re on IG feel free to DM me, I’d love to see your art ☺️
I'm so sorry, that must've been hard to go through. I find your words inspiring, I too suffer from self doubt, but not for art. Your share gave me perspective on my case. I think you're an artist, the way you speak.
I think that’s why daily challenges can be fun because they force you to use your creative muscles and worry less about the “result”. It definitely comes in seasons though!
Thank you so much for these great pieces of wisdom ....didn't journal at all in March & am struggling to start again. Really needed this encouragement!!!
It's been a while...since I last watched your videos Meg. I'm into painting and sketching the last month or so. Also detoxing from social media and my phone usage due to migraines unfortunately. I love watching your journalling process Meg. So relaxing ❤ thank you for these tips. So helpful 😁
Hi Meg, love your videos. Always inspiring. And I loved that tag you created. While mine would probably not turn out quite like that, it did give me inspiration to try!
Love all these tips and your inspiring collage specially the basket tip to limit choices. I was wondering what’s the dots stamp that you are using and the brown paper with the white crosses?
Thank you! The tissue paper is something I saved from a gift, and the dot stamp I've had for so long I've lost the packaging🤣 It may have been from The Works or similar!
I love your way of journaling. An inspiration. Can you tell me where you got that lovely pink washi tape from, that I keep seeing you using please. Thank you for your videos 💐

Then who is the real artist? You are!

Perfectionism and indecision are my biggest challenges. This video made me realize that building the habit is also a hurdle to tackle. Thanks, Meg!

I love watching you create because there’s moments where I don’t see your vision but then it all comes together.
There are moments when I don’t either 🤣
I love that you start these pieces in actual books, it's always lovely to see your vision and how you approach it ❤❤
Striving for perfection is my biggest problem with journaling. Thank you for these tips.
Hope you found them useful!

All ebb and flow and that’s totally ok!
Everything you said is perfect for this beginner who is procrastinating due to the bane of perfectionism! Thank you.
I always love your junk journaling!! You make it look easy and it just flows. Thanks for sharing your ideas 😘
Oh thank you! ☺️

Thank you for sharing this quote. It's fascinating and helpful for thinking through what's going on and moving forward better.
Yes indeed. Great quote, and a reminder to purchase the book: Atomic Habits!
