They finally did it! Definitely worth the wait! :)
Didn't expect you here
I was sat here watching just waiting for that last second abort but YES YES YES they did it FINALLY!!!!!!!! Matt Lowne bro can't wait to see your next upload love your channel!

I love watching these old Delta 4 Heavies... It's like watching one of the last beautiful horse-drawn carriages roll by as SpaceX rolls out the astronautical version of the Model T.
Old vintage non-reusable rockets will one day be highly collectible!
Buy one for cheap while you still can!! ;-)
Well said lol
Lol yeah that non-cryogenic, low energy second stage that SpaceX has soooo cutting edge
Doesn't matter, they've just flown their next gen second stage, and it glided back to the launch pad on the first try. Next is actually landing. When is a Centaur second stage landing again ?
@@selassify second stage also uses LOX (cryogenic) like the first one, and oh it has the best mass fraction (beating even Centaur)
Congrats ULA! Very proud to see this ship fly and reach LEO.
it actually reached geo...
Well done, ULA. Congratulations on a successful launch.
Congrats ULA on crushing another one and the 3D graphics show on the side of the assembly building was WICKED SICK!!
Crushing another one straight into the sea lol
What a waste of 3 incredible boosters
Patrick Moore is finally back! Great launch! I’ll be waiting for Tory’s Tweet 😉
Javier Vazquez your first! Congratulations.
Wow, what a great program. Story telling and a launch then the spectacle of the projection on the rocket enclosure. Did not expect all this for Joe Public. Thanks ULA and your cool leader.
We've been spoiled by SpaceX's launch coverage, their streams have much better production value.
It's also strange not seeing the first stage return to earth and land on a droneship.
@@elliothacker In this case, Spacex is cheaper, so it's more like paying a whole lot less, because I'm ordering online while having a great smile myself.
@@elliothacker The Delta Heavy is a powerful rocket, but it's definitely the full-price option here. It seems unwise to criticize SpaceX on price or salesmanship when this very stream ends with a 3D-projected advertisement for ULA, which is made possible partly because this rocket tends to sit on the pad so long that they can use it for a viewing screen ;). NROL-44 sat on the pad for much of this year, in fact, though some scrubs are inevitable in this business.
I mean no insult to ULA as they are a valuable launch provider and play a critical role in U.S. national security. I appreciate what they do.
@@elliothacker Irrelevant. We're talking about the viewing experience. I'm not a customer looking to purchase a rocket because the launch coverage was better. The analogy doesn't fit.
I solely logged on to find a comment like this and I totally agree. Started watching ULA, thought it’s a little dry, having been spoilt by SpaceX launches. Totally appreciate ULA is the worlds ‘Old Dog’ or ‘thoroughbred’ launch vehicle, but in order to compete, ULA do need to change their approach to future launches. Admittedly, I don’t know what’s in store for ULA. I don’t think have a contract solely with NROL with suffice their expenditure in the long run. Plus what stopping NROL not moving to SpaceX purely for a cost saving, it must be an astronomical saving. I will assume that NROL is tax payers money, The model has to change, ULA they know that too. SpaceX airs their launches with little to no waffle about how powerful the rocket is, that died ages ago, having to listen to ULA talk about 2.1 million pounds of thrust at least 6 times prior to launch, does get a little ........ One last thing, drop the ticker at bottom of screen. Despite all that’s said still wish ULA a prosperous future, but change needs to happen, bring in the marketing department.
Video projection over rocket was pretty cool.
Yes we are being spoiled by SpaceX and even Rocket Lab. But these guys are getting better. 5 years ago, we never would have gotten live camera views from the rocket in motion, now it’s slowly becoming the norm. Give it time and they’ll eventually get there. Maybe at NASA pace, by year 2050 and 250% over budget
Saw it get delayed twice in cape Canaveral had to leave Florida unfortunately never got to see it in person....
Congratulations ULA 🚀
Still feels weird seeing this after watching a Falcon heavy
Congratulations ULA!

You could see it all the way from there? Got any pics?
i wasn't sure if they could get it up :D

True!
Good joke (really not).
The light show after the launch was pretty cool, very creative use the available "screen".
You could not miss it from Brunswick, GA last night. It burned big and bright for a long time. Looks like something flew off to the right at 33:29.
Oh come on!
Congratulations on ULA for this amazing launch.
But that from making history, you’ll have a lot of catch up to do with SpaceX, especially after yesterday’s SN8 test flight!
Again, congratulations on ULA today! Beautiful Launch with amazing images today?

Wow they finally launched
Anyone else wondering where the glow or engine plume from the upper stage went before they cut away?
At T- what?

It is HYDRO-LOX engine it doesn’t create plumes it burn super clean. Go watch perseverance mission

You caught that too huh?
I just happened to be outisde then look up and seen something moving across and up in the sky going fast! And saw the orange flame for a good 7secs! Got my phone out and started to record! And a few weeks ago I caught the SpaceX rocket I think it was. But it was random I just happen to be outside again and saw a streak of red, a long streak. This was orange when I happened to look. Awesome!!!
Edit: I'm 215 miles North of Cape Canaveral and seen it and started recording exactly at 8:12pm

With this types of material one is never sure which parts are cgi and which not, there I prefer the rough and raw russian coverages much more dynamic. But I can understand the producers who want to present their product but still a bit less fluff would be great.

Will there be a lauch today soon?
There will be one this month or next month nrol 91
Great launch! Just 1 suggestion and I hope you guys read this even tho most of you already know. Please.. update your cameras / flight tracker software... Like wtf year are you guys in? It's almost 2021 why does your stuff look like it's from 1990s?? That little cinematic movie you did at the end could of helped cover for some better cameras on that rocket! Saying this so you'll improve and look more modern like Space X!
watch SpaceX stream, they are the best.

Thanks for the stream ULA and congratulations on the successful launch!
I would request that you not run a computer simulation of the launch if it's not an accurate representation. It's okay to have issues like this as they don't affect your primary mission at all, but it's confusing to viewers if you do a stage separation, start up the 2nd stage, and then keep showing viewers all 3 boosters still attached on the sim. Admittedly, the stream did ultimately cut away from this viewpoint, so thanks. If it's impractical to do an accurate sidebar timeline or launch simulation, then don't do them at all. Do your broadcast to suit ULA's strong suits and not someone else's.
What are you even talking about?
@@selassify Sorry if I was unclear. The simulated launch was not synchronized with the actual launch. I certainly didn't intend to be rude at all. Things like this happen and the Internet stream for Public Relations is not critical. The important part is that they fulfilled the mission. I was merely trying to offer constructive criticism, but I do apologize if I did not succeed or caused confusion. Have a great day!
They had an all inspiring Hologram Show to dumbfound us!
Why such a large rocket. Is it the Weight of the satellite of the height of the orbit?
The payload is similar to launching a school bus so very heavy and requires massive thrust. Also they integrate vertical approach to attach the payload which is perfect for the NRO satellites as opposed to SpaceX horizonal integration.
Most likely one or the other, or both. But top secret. ;-)
Donald Kjenstad it’s a heavy lift launch vehicle. So it is very big. It launches large payloads. For example, the SpaceX falcon heavy does the same, but it’s a bit more powerful than this.
They had classified bodies on board.

I noticed something strange about this launch 🧐🤔
What is it?
Pray do tell...
I live south from the rocket launch maybe less than a hour drive. Most launch go straight up or a slight angle going up and disappear slowly once it leaves Earth. This time around rocket started heading south east and flying low then disappeared. That didn't make any sense. Majority of my neighbors were puzzled even myself. I thought something happened but there isn't any reports or videos of the rocket leaving Earth. I might be wrong but I do find it strange.
@@aj7052 it probably needed a different orbit than the launches you're used to
@@williamhutton1752 I was wondering the same thing but still alot red flags compared to many launchs I've had seen.
I guess this is a public rehearsal and show off on how they are the most sucessful space launch company. Unfortunately, their video is packed with more commercials about their successes in the past where they had no competition. Definitely, they have strong connections in the government, not bad for a real risky endeavour. They have a place in history, there is no denying that. Now, they need to show they can compete fairly in an efficient and safely manner, with commercial launch businesses.
Yeah, but did they land any of their rockets?
Finally!
I bet it's the last flight for ULA and Delta Rocket.

hi matt Lowne
Still nowhere close to the quality of a SpaceX launch broadcast.
It better not get aborted on ignition
Why do you need to make a ticker with the same message over and over again? Why you have to say stuff like "... nation's proven heavy lifter."? Why "go ula, go delta..."?

ULA launches are so boring compared to SpaceX launces. Where are the altitude and speed widgets? Where are the multiple onboard camera views? Not as bad as NG liftoffs, but not the slightest bit inspiring. Typical government space contractors. No imagination, no excitement, no style, and no innovation. They try to make up for it with cartoons.

D4H launch after 9/12/20 - meh....

ULA still uses miles, feet and pounds? Despite the fact that all these units are defined metrically for decades now? Wow! Why? Keep traditions alive? Unable to adapt? Reflecting the conservative "Great America" of 2020...I think!? Has ULA a Great Legacy? Definitely Yes! Is there a future with this kind of spirit? With Vulcan Centaur already outdated before its first launch - Definitely NOT!
They are EXTREMELY avert to risk...
they are only using imperial for the stream, they are using metric for the science
141 successful launches in a row. Not even Ariane V from ESA has that. They can use whatever they'd like in my book lol
That is what I was thinking. Metric is the way to go. Also the coverage looks like you watch a replay of a start from the 90s. But still congratulations for a great launch!
The one who builds the rocket gets to decide what units to use. The world's vote does not count because it's not their rocket. It IS that simple.
