Hey y'all! We hope you enjoyed this look at Double Lake Recreation Area in the Sam Houston National Forest! This park is just a few minutes away from another fantastic camping option: Wolf Creek Park on Lake Livingston. If you missed our video on Wolf Creek Park, you can watch it here: ua-cam.com/video/wPeC4QyG2_U/v-deo.html . See you Wednesday!
Sorry to be offtopic but does someone know of a trick to get back into an instagram account?? I was dumb forgot the login password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me!
I was there at the water only sites in early June 2022. The heat was miserable. The mountain bike trails are amazing. I look forward to heading back there when it’s cooler.
I have lived down the road from this park all my life and use the lakeshore trail as my daily walk. It really is a beautiful park and the hosts are the best!
I just discovered your channel today and I'm already addicted! I'm recuperating from knee surgery and laid up so I'm so excited to find your videos! I'm in the process of building my very own little teardrop camper so hopefully by this winter I'll be recuperated and ready for some camping adventures. So if y'all see a little pink and white homemade teardrop at a Texas state park somewhere, say howdy!
Another destination to add to our list. Enjoyed your tour of the park and trails. Really like the design of the buildings and shelter houses that the CCC constructed.
Y'all will love it, Lorrie! And bonus: there's a good little family owned Italian restaurant just a couple of miles away if you don't feel like cooking.
We were these on August 14, 2020. We were actually able to capture pictures of deer while walking on the back side of the lake(group camp side). My family has been visiting Double Lakes for over 45 years. We have camped and made day trips to this National Forest.
Great looking park. Thank you for providing your dog with water! It’s so important. We recently were driving through Nacogdoches TX and our travel trailer was rear ended on the highway. Once we get the repairs done I will be looking forward to putting this park on my list of must see.
Gee that place looks big for a small lake. Back in the 70'''s went on a church retreat up some where in east Texas and they had a small lake with a cross in the middle and was so awesome in the moon light. At the time it was a fun experience. The one thing about east Texas is all the trees opposed to barren parts of west Texas. Enjoyed watching. Love y'all
Your camp memories might have been here at Double Lake, Leann! We hear that the park hosted a church camp for a few years. We love the trees of East Texas also. So pretty!
Looks like a wonderful park. We are from Seattle originally and this looks very much like the type of parks we spent so many years camping in when our kids were little. This is definitely going on our must see parks. We have not been north of Houston, can’t wait. Love your channel maybe someday we can do a meet up.
Thanks Brett! It is a really nice, quiet park. We haven’t been to the Seattle area. We look forward to visiting some of those parks when we make it up that way one of these days. Hope we cross paths somewhere out there.
I’m coming to Texas this winter! I’ll be reviewing everything on your channel and website looking for itineraries and places to visit. My goal is Big Bend and somewhere to winter. Thanks for all the great videos and resources.
Awesome!! Have a great trip! We haven't made it out to Big Bend to film yet, but it's high on our list. So many awesome places to explore around the state.
I was looking back at some of your videos and I can't believe you haven't even been to the best place in Texas! Big Bend and the scenic road along the rio grande to Presideo? You need to go there sometime.
Absolutely Matt! Big Bend is high on our list of places to visit. I (Stacie) went as a kiddo. We've had several trips planned out that way, but something has always happened to change our plans. We will definitely get there!
sounds like another great campground to go and explore. thank you. what is the alligator situation, any there. i am not from TX but every time i see water I become weary.
Hi Jennifer. Yes, they have both 30 and 50amp hookups. All sites have water. Some have sewer connections. There is no dump station in the park, but there are park host sites near the park entrance that are not used as campsites and are available for using as a dump station.
Good point Mona. We should have said Houston was the first elected president. You're right, Burnet was the interim president and thereby the first president of the new republic.

I really can get hot during the Summer!
Heading out there again this weekend. The weather will be perfect,
We love this park ❤
Cool

What a great place for a daily walk, Lisa! We agree 100% on both the beauty and the great park hosts. Enjoy!

Dreamy looking campground. Can’t wait to experience this one when we get back to Texas

So excited to explore these areas. Loved that huge fireplace! Awesome music selections.
Thanks! We love parks like this.

It’s a great park, Victoria.
One of my favorite camp sites but the lake was so low last time you couldn't even fish.
That’s a shame, maybe next time!
That looks like a beautiful park! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching! We really enjoyed the park.
My dad saw in minute 17:12 the pink little chair behind her moved and I 😶😐😱💩
Very nice video. Thank you ma'am.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching.
Keep up the great work guys .
Thanks so much!

Sorry to hear about the accident, Meg. Hope they get the repairs completed quickly so you can get back to camping. This is a great park.
I love the Ccc stonework, especially. Thanks!
So do we!
Very good informative video. Thanks for the tour. Is this a great state or what!!!
So many great places to visit.
One of our favorite parks! Craig & Cindy are great. We always eat at Joe's Italian Grill. We love their garlic bread & pesto!
Yes! We ate at Joe’s twice. 😋
I would recommend the hickory pit also I grew up there in Coldspring
Wow, I have to check that one out!
It's a really nice park

Sounds like Forest Glen, christian camp in the same forest but closer to I45 to the west.

My wife and I started camping there right after we got married 41 years ago and later with our three kids.
That’s cool!
Very cool video, thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching!

We did not see any alligators during our stay.
Just found you guys and love your adventures- the we just bought an rv and hopefully we will be able to see some of the places you have been too 🍻
Thanks so much Ed! Welcome to our channel. We’re glad y’all found us. Congrats on your new RV. Safe travels and happy camping!
Great content. Will definitely come back for the next. When is it coming out? Thumbs Up 👍
Hey Ethan. We publish videos every Sunday and Wednesday.
great vid getting ready to head to virginia tomorow safe travels
Safe travels Allan!!! We look forward to hearing about some of the neat things y’all find.
@@rvamericayall we are heading from Virg to Tenn today
IGreat video, s there a spot if you have an RV and a couple of tents?
Not sure 🤔
Double Lake looks really nice. So in July and summer its really hot. Do they spray for mosquitos, fleas, and chiggers??
That's a great question Joe. We don't remember having a huge issue with any of those during our stay.
Do y’all know by any chance how long the lake trail is?
Nice review! Do they have 30 AMP hookups? The website only says 50.
Hi Jennifer. Yes, they have both 30 and 50amp hookups. All sites have water. Some have sewer connections. There is no dump station in the park, but there are park host sites near the park entrance that are not used as campsites and are available for using as a dump station.
Were fires still banned when you were there?
Hi David. No, there was no burn ban while we were there in July.
Staci, I noticed it right off. Are you sun burnt? Looks like it on your face and neck.
Hey Ty! Not sunburned, just spending a lot of time outside at that time.
Watch out for Bigfoot. At night, stay close to camp fire and don't whistle.
😂👀
Sri’s the distance walked around the lake?
The Lakeshore Trail is 1.4 miles around the lake, Gregory.
RV Texas Y'all thank you, enjoyed the video, as always
Thank you
FYI----David G. Burnet was the 1st president of Texas ...Sam was the 2nd.
Good point Mona. We should have said Houston was the first elected president. You're right, Burnet was the interim president and thereby the first president of the new republic.
@@rvamericayall Hopefully it goes back to the Republic of Texas instead of the State of Texas soon! Love it or leave it.
I'd be happy with that!
:-)))) :-))))
