That's one of my go to camp spots. Glad they finally finished the bridge, you used to have to drive all the way around. It's a chill place. It does get hectic on the weekends but nothing bad. Everyone is still respectful and the noise dies down. The lone star hiking trail goes though the campground, which is the longest hiking trail in Texas. If you are a kayaker that boat ramp right there is one of the best spots around to launch the kayak to see nature, and catch alot of fish.
Thank you so much for taking us through the SHN Forest. I can’t wait to check it out. Do you ever stay in the back of your truck. I’m thinking about getting a camper shell for my truck and I was wondering how you had your’s set up. Thanks again! I enjoyed the adventure.
You are quite welcome! I did spend a night in the back of the truck here is that video....ua-cam.com/video/xBMSs6O1I1M/v-deo.html Afterwords I decided that it was simpler for me to have a tent, mostly because of the required effort to reconfigure the truck bed from scooter and gear transport to a bedroom just for sleep took more effort that just setting up a tent. If I was not traveling with the Lil Red and Bobber as well as all of the camera gear A mattress in the truck bed would be great. I am currently on a "best for me" tent search. Thanks for watching!
I actually have a video on this topic that will be airing in two weeks! To sum it up, most of the issues have been minor. There are a couple that could be considered not-minor like the yellowing of the floor covering and the warping of the bumper.
Thanks for posting! I was curious about how first come, first serve actually worked. Thanks for the explanation. Looks like a calming, quiet area.
Glad it was helpful! During the week you are correct, calm and peaceful but from what I was told on the week ends it is party city.
