Same. I was actually hoping they were going to fix that duplex (I think?) they flipped awhile back where they used really bold colors and angles. I can’t unsee the chaos from that flip. And I really want to unsee it.
My thoughts: Would have liked to see the entry wall opened up, could have done a nice feature banister on the stairs so its not so claustrophobic. Love the wall paper choice in the powder, as the gold leaves bring out some of the tones in the Victoria Falls. The furlough in the kitchen is hardly noticeable with the cabinet design, so I doubt its a talking point in the future. The master bath may not have any real way to lay out with out a little controversy, at least not without spending a bunch of money that would not be returned on investment. It does however take away the dead space the original vanity caused and creates a place that is usable not just with the larger shower but could fit a tall hamper or trash bin in the corner.
I agree, coming into a WALL, not so pleasing, having the stairs continue down to the doorway, with open sides , would be a more Grand entry. This would lean to a open feeling to both rooms....lighting would be great.
This is great. That wallpaper is a conversation piece! ❤ My only thing is the backyard is still wildly atrocious. I would consider hiring a landscaper if you come across something like that again. The choice to keep the stumps and rocks but add grass…. You can’t mow that. 😬
Beautiful flip! I would've done some things a little differently if it were me, but still a beautiful upgrade! For instance I would've removed the wall in the entrance so the stairs could be visible. Then I'd build a new staircase with an ornate railing to give the entrance some visual interest. That way when guests walk into the house they'll see a beautiful staircase instead of a blank wall. I mean the way you two did it is fine, but there needs to be something hanging there like artwork. I wouldn't put a coat rack on that wall because you don't want people walking in and having a bunch of coats in their face. At least if there's a painting or photo, there's something pleasant greeting them.
@@allalala9916 Yep exactly! Having something like that would add some visual interest for sure. It's better than walking through the front door and there's a blank white wall in your face. I would avoid mirrors on that wall also. No one wants to walk into a person's house and immediately be startled by their own reflection lol. A painting with a table underneath is preferable. My entrance has something very much like that, with a floral arrangement dressing up the table.
Not gonna lie Lincoln. Whatever you’re doing you’re looking good keep it up! Love watching you 2 do your thing lots of inspiration for when I’m ready to renovate.
I would love to see a kitchen with wooden countertops and a green cabinet color. People are really digging the modern cabin whimsical aesthetic these days. Lots of raw materials and textures! Cottage core vibes!
I would have preferred losing one of eating areas to have a bigger kitchen. The mirror in the master is a little narrow in width. I also agree that I would have preferred opening the stairs to the front door would have been nice. I guess it was more about the flip than fixing the design of the house.
Maybe I am crazy but I sort of loved that old oven 😆 I hope they sold it off to somebody who can tweak it and fix it up because sometimes people like having that in their house for a bit of character... like me 😂
I'm amazed by the results! The attention to detail in the renovation was impressive, and I loved how they maintained the home's original charm while giving it a modern touch.
20:22 I know they probably couldn't move the toilet but it still pains me to see it taking up that great walking space, blocking drawers, etc. ugh. and it looks so uncomfortable there... other than that unfortunate fault the bathroom looks gorgeous.
Such an inspiring story of teamwork and creativity in real estate flipping! Seeing the challenges they faced and how they overcame them was both educational and entertaining.
Yikes, so many negative comments. I like it and think it looks great! Its all about how a family lives in a space and their vision to decorate it! Once you've updated it and made it almost new then let the home owners use their imagination! I could decorate the heck out of that place!! Great job guys!!!!!
yikes that primary bathroom is not good. Also, cheap white cabinets in the kitchen…no lower drawers which is what people are looking for. So much wasted space in this house that you could have made into an office or laundry.
Yeah, this house does not feel high end at all. Everything feels like it's apartment grade. BUT.....this IS a flip house....so.....they needed to save money to make a profit. Also, I would have pushed the kitchen into the formal dining area and added a walk-in pantry. The master bathroom is a big NO. Also I wish they would have used more high end furniture to stage it, because it gives the illusion of a more expensive home. If I bought this house after THIS makeover, I would immediately move in and remodel it. 😂. But it's a decent starter home for someone. I'm just not at the starter home phase of life right now, so maybe I'm being too critical.
@@chellejack3480Is a 1M+ house is a starter home in Austin? I like your idea of expanding the kitchen to the dinner area and have a big pantry. Maybe they could have a laundry there as well. I don’t think the house has one.
Although the house overall looks nice I totally agree with your kitchen base cabinet observation. This is too high of a price home to have 'crawl in' base cabinets. And being stuck with that primary bath layout the toilet could have at least been skirted instead of the cheapest old style bulgy one. This might be ok with 500k buyers but the bar needs to raise on this one.
I would put wood flooring the in the large room on the left and make the entire room the living room, use the old kitchen and dining room space as a laundry and kitchen, then making the old living room into the new dining room and open the end wall of the stairs with railing to open up the sight lines and improve flow.
Everything looks great , Nice job good ideas except the wall paper in powder room.. Would change that asap if I bought it. Would add more plants out back with strong root systems to help stabilize the bank.
This one came out great. I think it’s my favorite of the most recent makeovers. The house has a great flow and the finishes are beautiful. And I personally kinda dig the rocky mountain backyard.
When are renovators and flippers going to instal multiple dish washers? My next house I want at least 2 dishwasher and if room permits three. That will save emptying the dishwasher which is so time consuming. Have one for breakfast and lunch and the second one for the dinner dishes. One dishwasher is just not sufficience.
Seems like a surprisingly half hearted rehab from them - I guess they know their market and figured they didn't have to do more to reach their list price, but over $1M for that mostly unimpressive looking house with a bad layout is crazy to me.
This is my first video from them and I was thinking this is a flip level for a much lower end market. Small details can make a huge difference. Drawers instead of crawl in base cabinets, skirted toilets, and that back yard needs a retaining wall.
What rendering software do you use? I would love to have it for my design business. I'm surprised you didn't take down the entryway wall & open up the stairway.
It’s very pretty and clean but predictable. I understand that it has to appeal to a lot of different people, but I wish there could be some personality or character. It is beautifully done, just not too original. Also, there is NO shade in that backyard! I thought you would would replace that cover with something less bulky but you just took away all of it! As an Austinite and knowing how hot it is there most of the time, that backyard will get almost no usage now. I agree with other comments that the front entry was a missed opportunity to open up that staircase and entry. Disappointing to say the least.
Painted white bricks is a pain in the a**.. and yeah, that Primary Bath is a little tight.. But I understand the need to work around with the existing plumbing situation.. Overall, great transformation.
The way you worked that wall by the front door is just too nice, I would have added a 6ft tall frame on it, or painted two indentical black stripes about 1.5 ft wide going across the whole height
The "dinning room" should have been part of the kitchen and then you could have out an island in that opening and made the room in front of it the new dinning room
Everything inside is great!! I was hoping to see those skinny posts on the porch replaced with something more substantial and I think the front door would have been great with a pop of color.
I have a question for you…why would you use fake shutters, that don’t match the size of the window? As an architect I find this one of the worst choices that can be made for home renovations. Very much an American subdivision look. Not good.
The interest would have been elevated if they had done more trim work in the house. Around the window trim would have added a lot and making the columns on the front porch bigger would have looked better.
I also don’t understand why you always remove patio awnings, is this just an American thing or? Cause the first thing id do if I were the buyer is to build one out the back
It’s one of the worst things they do, the canopy’s are great for lounging and hosting outside without getting blazed by the sun it’s something I’d want when buying a house
I was blown away! The attention to detail in every room was incredible, and the final result was stunning. I felt like I was watching an episode of my favorite home improvement show-I can't wait to see more transformations like this!

That entry wall is horrible and I don’t care for the master bath layout; because the Master is so large it seems that both the bathroom and closet could have been side by side instead of walking through the bath in order to enter the closet. Aside from that the house is really pretty. Forgot to add, wallpaper is such a personal choice it may have been a waste of time and money…
