That’s only when they’re brought up from great depth and suffer barometric trauma. They pretty much turn to jelly. Unfortunately, they’re doomed by the fact that people are fond of eating their roe, ‘lumpfish caviar’.
@@_just_looking_thank_you lumpfish do not live that deep to suffer from barotrauma too much, and look same both in water and after surfacing. You probably mistaken them with blobfish.
