The move is called "gapit" or to pinch and is used as a counter to a throw called "angkat" or to lift. Often times when someone under hooks you at the bend of the knee with their hand or better yet, their arm, you can use this technique to pull them down. It requires timing. If you try to do it after your posture is broken, it's too late. You have to gapid right as he is committing to the attack.

When the guy is on the ground using his thigh to pinch the hand。His groin looks kind of exposed. Is there a better position to transit to while maintaing the control of the pinched hand??

    Silat+MMA= The Raid.

Mma is not style, it's a rule set that allows both striking and grappling
      To be style specific,
The raid = iko uwais + joe taslim
= silat + (judo gold medalist + shidokan + silat)

The problem is that Silat is meant to be a fast and brutal maryial arts that is meant to take down and kill your opponent as quickly as possible, but in MMA the rules prohibit the use of Silat because some of the moves in Silat are a little brutal and aren't allowed in MMA.

Not true, there's nothing against silat. Just because a few moves are prohinited and sensitive areas like eyes and groin are not allowed, doesn't mean Silat is prohibited. It's a very broad and versitile art and can work perfectly find in mma.

Mojo? Magic? Looks more like what Bruce Lee called "dissecting the corpse". So you are just, "going to bring my knee back to the origination point"??? Well you would need a "partner" for that one. No way that hold holds anyone with any jujitsu skills because it has zero hip control. Show me any video of this used in an MMA or street fight anywhere! No way possible, but if you do I will quickly retract and apologize. This is the kind of stuff that thrills newbies, BUT instructors/chalatans and snake oil salesmen like this should be avoided at all costs. Work on techniques that have a greater than 80% chance of working and leave others alone. No sense practicing things that require magic to work.Again, to quote Bruce Lee, “I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who had practiced one kick 10,000 times.”

+bae313 btw, I have been a subscriber for a couple years and this is the first technique I have seen that I felt DESERVED a negative comment. Right up there with the silat patty cake techniques that lead up to a wrist lock and knife disarm. Funny how, with so many police and corrections officers who have bought into silat, I have never seen a video of a knife disarm that looks even remotely close to what silat/wing chun/Filipino martial arts teach the practitioners. On the other hand, I have seen lots of videos where a guy is just reflexively grabbing for his life at his attacker's knife wielding wrist. Watch those "master" videos then watch some real knife fight videos. The difference is that in a real fight, the threat isn't following the script that tells him to hold still while the technique is completed.

+bae313 Surely you can say that just about any technique were never used? All techniques were never used at one point, then at some point, it gets used. Everything crosses that threshold, but how would you know if it crosses that threshold if it's not tried?... I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just saying the idea that if someone can't show you a video of a technique in play therefore should immediately be abandoned, seems like a sure way to be stagnant.

+bae313 it's just an option. One of many. No one expects your opponent to let you do a technique, a strike or offbalancing technique along with timing is needed to make something like this work. If one has good timing as soon as the other guy catches the knee you fall back, probably doing a fish hook or neck crank as well with the free hand.

+aaron4820 Everybody's training time is limited. Spend your time working on takedowns practicing the tried and true with high success rates rather than playing movie fantasy. Single and doubles and reaps and hip and thigh throws work because they have their base in gross motor movements, their base is built in to human reflexive movements. Even the greatest fighters in the world lose their titles when they start to chase fantasy moves rather than working bread and butter techniques that took them to the top. On the streets, the costs are much greater. Waste your time arguing the point more all you want, you are still going to be wrong. The whole reason I got started on youtube was to counterbalance the massive amount of b.s. out there.

+bae313 I've used Silat in the street, i've seen a blue belt get a broken rib instantly when he tried to put my prior Silat instructor in a neck crank, I knowI there's a lot of bs out there but silat came out of indonesia where little tiny indonesian people had to fight against the dutch who were twice their size. In mma most people talk about attributes well Silat doesn't just train techniques, they train attributes and its a very deep art based on body mechanics and leverage, not how cool the technique looks. Even Erik paulson trained in and added silat to his repertoire. If my goal was competitive sport then yeah I would probably train in bjj but more likely catch wrestling and boxing or muy thai
