I guess what (possibly) benefits this remix is that, apart from being an artist in his own right, Askjell Solstrand is co-writer/co-producer on both Step I and II, so he would have probably had ideas on several different ways he could mix it during the initial recording and post-recording.
It does work very well indeed.

Im actually watching this after seeing so much of what Australia's going through. I live in Puerto Rico, a small island in the Equator, and two Earthquakes hit us, 5.8, and two days ago a 6.6 hit us severely and left so much damage and one death, there is just so much going on right now, so much damage, and death that all I can do is cry a river and yet it doesn't make me feel better because I can help make this world a better home for all but not alone...
I definitely thought some parts of the song were pretty cool. I especially love the focus on her vocals at the beginning and the way the original video was edited to fit the remix. Though I have to say that I prefer the original a little better, not because I don’t enjoy the remix, but for some reason the song just didn’t resonate like the original. Still enjoyed the remix though! Can’t wait for IOADK P2!

this is my fav Aroura song.
The lead vocal is the same as the original, and being such a powerful song, the original plays in your head against the new arrangement, which is much more ethereal and relaxed in structure.
Aurora’s vocals are so powerful, simple and yet nuanced, they are saturated with the essence of the original arrangement. They stand out against the new arrangement a bit like a stone above the waterline of a river: an essential part of any river, yet defiant and unique.
I find this quite a buzz... almost shocking... like the feel of cold water on your face.
Not a bad way to reenforce a message.
The album is well named.
You do get the feeling that there is a better way to live... and it’s inspiring ❤️
