I made a build like this when arc 3.0 came out, but didn't focus on grenades. the only flaw I could find was, the lightning explosion would kill the enemy on high health targets, or low health targets when starting to get stacks of combination blow. this isn't very good, because if the explosion kills the enemy, it won't proc the health regeneration or give you combination blow. other than that, it's a solid build
With unstoppable shotgun and overload arc grenade also makes the build intrinsically anti-champion and then barriers can just be one shot so don't need to worry about them but could just add a kinetic weapon if needed
I used a version of this build for a solo duality arc hunter run but incorporated assassin’s cowl because of timers which helped quite a bit. When I got to vault and did damage to the mini bosses I didn’t need liars at all the super paired with all the different buffs you’ve explained in the vid let me super punch 8 times and they’d just fall over. It’s also possible to 2 phase gahlran if you keep the combo x3 with tractor debuff.
Great vid as well. Definitely think making an assassin’s cowl build for potential solo gm or fun in endgame (like dungeons) would be a great video for you.
I run a similar build with striking light so I can generate extra orbs for teammates. Also I run a build with star eater scales for raid encounters. Gathering storm with full star eaters buff puts out massive damage
Not sure if it’s always been this way, but I noticed Liar’s handshake doesn’t require a charged melee to get increased damage on the second hit. At least from what I noticed
Man I wish that combination blow made arc melee final blows regenerate your class ability energy, sadly it only triggers on the initial combination blow hit itself, and not the jolt (which counts as an arc melee final blow in the code, as it generates wells with only melee wellmaker) from lethal current

@@enrique9469 Is 80% added on top of liar’s handshake. The combination might still might be better than one-two Punch, it’s not a matter of simply combining the two numbers.
Seems like he didn't lol. I thought it was common knowledge by now that they killed 1-2 punch with Liar's Handshake, I mean he even said it was one of the earliest broken melee builds. They've killed it since reckoning.
I believe liars is bugged pretty bad right now. on top of it not procing on enemies punching you, you can see at 3:15 he punches the boss 3 times and only on the 4th the liars punch procs. isn't it suppose to be right after the 2nd melee?
I recommend using striking light and elemental charge in place of font of might and elemental ordnance. You don’t really need extra weapon damage or ability energy, so getting dr for sprinting and making an orb for your team on every melee kill is a better option imo
When it comes to cross counter: I haven’t made a bug report yet, but recently a friend and I discovered that it’s incredibly inconsistent IF Gathering Storm is equipped. Put on Arc Staff again and it should work properly.
While you're at it, can you remind bungo that Void 3.0 Titan's Offensive Bulwark still stacks with Wormgod but still DOESN'T stack with Synthoceps? There's no reason for it to still not work with Synthoceps.
Been running this build (something very similar outside of mods) since day one this season and it is probably my favorite build. I run Acrius instead of Tractor in most cases to take advantage of Font of Might again and in the instance you don't have Combo x3 up.
Was thinking lf doing a video on this mechanic but good to see you put it out. Other details to note from my testing: The aftershock somewhat counts as a charged melee (it procs assassins cowl, haven't tested if this can generate wells). If your "one-two punch" buff disappears before the aftershock, the aftershock will NOT benefit from the damage boost, i.e. the aftershock technically counts as a separate melee and may not be a "product" of your initial melee. This also means well of ions will NOT increase the aftershock damage, tried and tested (unless you can pick up a well between the time you punch and the aftershock), but well of ions is still a great supplement. (edit 2: just before you hit the boss with feedback you got punched again, reproccing feedback). The aftershock does NOT apply to the uppercut attack, but the uppercut attack DOES benefit from 3x combination blow. Also, uppercut sadly does not benefit from one-two punch. The aftershock still applies to the arcstrider super, but it's still more DPS to dodge light light heavy, than to dodge light dodge light. Other exotics that this pairs really well with: Sixth coyote (tested for back to back aftershocks), and possibly radiant dance machines(I don't have this unfortunately). Edit: Also for reference, a single 3x combination blow one two punch with aftershock (excluding the liar's handshake followup) is roughly the equivalent of firing 3 adaptive frame rockets at a target. Kaboom fists.
if you want that anthem interceptor type of playstyle/movment just simply use blink with an eager edge sword and have flow state with tempest strike, its bloody amazing
I’ve basically been using this build with a substitution of protective light and elemental charge to help with survivability in endgame solo content like dungeons. I hadn’t considered going the combination grenade route, definitely something I’m thinking about now. Also haven’t been using tractor cannon because wish-ender is actually a viable option for content imo, anti-barrier is great and the damage buff is noticeable. By running a LMG it’s another way to get all of the champion mods covered in a single loadout. Worth noting also was in Aztecross’s latest hunter build video, the arc aftershock caused by lethal current on your melee seems to count as an explosion, so you can run explosive wellmaker and well of life to throw in some extra health regen when you pick up solar wells. Edit: after doing some play testing of my own I couldn’t get solar wells to appear with explosive wellmaker, so I can’t speak to the accuracy of the claim
The really crazy thing is Liars is great for high end where you need the health, but on most stuff SES for the super damage is a great pairing, the amount of damage you get with 1-2 and combo 3 plus the jolt will kill most things and than you have the extra super regain and damage
I have been rocking almost this exact build but I am using dragons shadow. While I do lose melee damage, I can always stay engaged as my one-two punch shotgun will always be reloaded. Ive been using melee wellmaker, one elemental time dilation, and three font of might so that in endgame content I have the damage buff for ~21 seconds which I can fully refresh within that time by getting a charged melee kill. Ive been loving arc hunter.
Maybe substitute tractor cannon for heartshadow since you can also apply a debuff with the heavy attack, but if you want to go invis in harder content to get to your target and hit them with the one two punch combo without taking much damage that might be nice also!
Thank you for this - I’ve been experimenting with this same build but couldn’t get past the incoming boss melee damage not procing. Also bountiful and multi melee wellmakers don’t seem to stack properly with liars handshake either. You hit a few good points I hadn’t considered in the build. Very nicely put together 👍🏻
For endgame stuff I would probably swap out liars handshake for assassins cowl and keep the rest the same. The assassins cowl really helps with survival and it also lets you reposition really well to get close to the champ/boss with ease. Yes you lose some damage but realistically not dying is more important than pure DPS
Losing Liars only affects the 2nd 'follow-up' punch, making you do less damage overall but that first hit is still that massive half a million instant damage which is honestly overkill for nearly everything in the game. Im pretty sure that consistent combo WITHOUT Liars does literally more damage than a Parasite shot at x20 stacks, so I would definitely go Assassins Cowl for the invisibility and extra healing. Can even drop tractor for a linear or something else to handle far away targets for boss DPS and still be able to ad clear even minibosses with ease
Maybe for top end difficulty stuff. But don’t forget Liars Handshake heals on the cross counter hit too. With spark of res and high res with this heal you still have pretty decent survivability, making the invis just overkill. I’ll take the damage of liars in *most* content.
@@Gwynbleidd_117 I would honestly say that in lower level content it’s really a toss up. The damage on both is overkill in a legend lost sector for example, but assassin’s cowl is far better in master content. I did solo flawless on the one yesterday at 1577 light and was able to simply clear all the ads while invisible then easily focus down the two overload champions with my bow. At my light level, the one two punch shotgun wasn’t useful since I couldn’t do enough damage to fully kill both overload champions before they would regen and I would lose my buff, although if I was at 1580 or higher it would probably be able to get the job done.
@@Gwynbleidd_117 it does heal a good bit but for top end, if you get bombarded in the few seconds you run, you are absolutely done for. The Cowl's REAL potency comes from Finishers and pairing it with Special Finisher. With the build above, you're gaining so many orbs and doing so much damage it's very easy to not only use your super, but turn this Exotic into a Special Aeon Invis helmet
I say try going with warmind build along side the arc 3.0, the ikelos smg and machine gun are both arc weapons, or you could go with an incandescent primary or use the lightweight arc shotty world drop with one two punch and something like tractor in heavy (all with the liars handshake)
Even before I saw this build; with liar's handshake alone, I've been stun locking bosses while my five other teammates lay into them just to put it out of its misery not even because I need help killing it. And now you tell me I could unleash an entirely new kind of hell on to the darkness. Amazing
What I find amazing with Arc 3.0 so far is that it performs great by itself without being tied to the seasonal mods, unlike Void and Solar. The only thing that completes the kit is the Arc Super boost on wounded/Amplified.
Did something similar but instead i threw in charged with light setup where well charge you, and i also put on the mod that spawns an orb on melee kills consuming a charge of light to do so, its crazy ad clear and with my setup i can generate a ton of orbs for the rest of the team, you can take this even further by using the fragment that spawns orbs on rapids kills while amplified, with that you can make up to two orbs on one melee
Someone posted on Reddit that all three Hunter subclasses have the highest dps supers in the game with Star-Eaters. Best in PvP and best in PvE damage now.
In place of font of might and ordinance I run high energy fire and the one that makes wells give you charge with light. Not sure if it stacks with melee damage tho
I've tried a couple Hunter Builds, Shinobus Vow with Skips jolts everything! However it lacks a bit of versatility that this build has, whilst you are focusing a bit on your melee, you can use your whole kit to amp that up (Pardon the pun!) With the Resilience changes & the Healing from Cross Counter you don't need to worry about Recovery as much, it's still important to keep it fairly high but it's not awful if you're at 60-70 at all! I'd still say having 100 Mobility is important, its something I can't give up as a Hunter haha! As for weapons, I'm leveling up a Ragnhild currently to pair with the Plunder Scout with a Rapid Hit x Voltshot Roll, anything with Voltshot pairs SUPER well with Arcstrider!
SO. I have had a weird ass bug since the season launched, I've been using nothing but arcstrider with liars handshake, BUT... for whatever reason, no matter what my melee WILL NOT consume on kill, and it never gives me combination blow as a result, so I never get max damage, does anyone know about this bug? or even possibly how to fix it?
I noticed the same thing, until I found out that somehow I was just throwing a regular punch and not the actual ability. Combination Blows gets used on kill and triggers the stack since I found out that it was bound to another button.
It sounds like you might be using an uncharged melee bind. For combination blow I would suggest the normal melee bind so you use combo when it is available, but will also use the uncharged version on the same key when it is on cooldown. If you are using the charged melee key idk what is wrong. Hope this helped
@@wilbow8676 @Tobi-Navu thank you guys! I feel so dumb LOL I had been using the solar titan synthoceps build all season of the haunted, so this is definitely what my problem was, thanks again for the help guys!
I’ve been doing a similar set up but with wormhusk but I’m trying to look into this exotic too. Thinking that legend of acrius would be an idea as well since it’s a heavy shotty + arc. Could give u a lot more freedom to not have 2 shotguns but hey that’s just me.
Personally for the mods I suggest using one melee wellmaker, one mod of elemental time dialation (stasis, combat style mod) and 3 well of ions, that lets you continue outputting a ton of melee damage for longer damage phases
I made a similar hunter build but based all on orbs and super regen, with star eater scales i can spam nuke supers back to back. Btw thanks for the information, great content
You should try out Shinobus bow now. It’s insane for PVE. You can use the arc grenade jolt fragment and the one to get ionic traces from jolted combatants, and a bunch of firepower mods and you are basically spamming grenades that work like Trinity ghoul
Been running this all season. The ideal mod for me is ion, font of might bountiful wells, and two melee wellmakers. 3 wells drop per charged melee so all ur ability’s come back asap. It’s a blast
I found this out when carl lost sector was the exotic one, I was instantly killing champions at full health at 1570 with the combination blow without 1-2 punch.
Assassins cowl feels more useful to me. Liars handshake been kinda inconsistent and it’s not what it used to be as you said. Not to mention cowl got a new ornament and it’s bussin. I just think that the different times that invis has saved my life running around meleeing everything, also making it easier to get up close to a champion or boss free of agro is very valuable.
Only issue with this build is that liars handshake procs like, 20% of the time. You can sit there and punch an enemy over and over five or six times and still not activate cross counter. Not to mention it randomly does like no damage.
@@JohnPaul-nb5iu Been using it since it was first available, it works 20% of the time. Actually using it against an enemy once a strike isn’t using it.
This is just a more optimal version of what ive already been doing since i dont have a one-two shotty, lethal current liars handshake combo is so damn fun
Is it just me or when cross-counter is active I just cannot for the life of me get Swashbuckler to proc. When I kill things as solar or void with melee attacks it gets the x5 just fine, but Arc it only procs on actual gun kills.

Exactly what I've been running and Assassins Cowl made survivability soon much better. Loving it and it still does good enough damage in most content.
I use Assassin's Cowl for ad clear, then swap to Liar's for punching the bosses, since AC doesn't help with boss dps
@@oryxthetakenking8275 The melee boost on bosses is only 80% from Liar's Handshake now btw. No longer does 300% or whatever it uses to be.
@@BatDad-qu4fo it's still 80% more on top of all the dmg you can get anyways. Not as powerful as before but still, it is a bonus
@@562SammyJames Yeah it's still a nice bonus, no doubt.
I recommend using striking light and elemental charge in place of font of might and elemental ordnance. You don’t really need extra weapon damage or ability energy, so getting dr for sprinting and making an orb for your team on every melee kill is a better option imo
This is what I've been using all season so far, feels fantastic
When it comes to cross counter: I haven’t made a bug report yet, but recently a friend and I discovered that it’s incredibly inconsistent IF Gathering Storm is equipped. Put on Arc Staff again and it should work properly.
While you're at it, can you remind bungo that Void 3.0 Titan's Offensive Bulwark still stacks with Wormgod but still DOESN'T stack with Synthoceps? There's no reason for it to still not work with Synthoceps.
Ive been using melee builds in arc 3.0 hunter , but ive never understood arc 3.0 thanks for clearing that up and I completely forgot one two punch
i might replace liar's handshake with assassin's cowl. might not get that extra little bit of damage, but that invis could help in soloing stuff
I've been preaching this build for like a week or two now, thank God someone finally made a video on it, I can finally rest
something to note, this can someway bug your third person camera, i was trying to do a flawless prophecy and it bugged
Kaboom fists.
if you want that anthem interceptor type of playstyle/movment
just simply use blink with an eager edge sword and have flow state with tempest strike, its bloody amazing
Melee Wellmaker is available right now at ADA 1st of September
You can use the liars handshake melee to proc trench barrel on acrius
I have been rocking almost this exact build but I am using dragons shadow. While I do lose melee damage, I can always stay engaged as my one-two punch shotgun will always be reloaded. Ive been using melee wellmaker, one elemental time dilation, and three font of might so that in endgame content I have the damage buff for ~21 seconds which I can fully refresh within that time by getting a charged melee kill. Ive been loving arc hunter.
Could also run grave robber with one two punch on your shotgun so every melee kill reloads 😅
The Cross Counter not proccing thing is apparently a bug tied to Gathering Storm, hopefully it gets fixed.
The explosion from lethal current also eats your cross counter which means you only get it every 3rd punch.
thank god, the amount of times I’ve been hoed in pvp and hell even in pve has been too high lmao
@@Iliketacos091 I also hate how the explosion won’t give you another combination blow stack which forces you have to go for another kill
Maybe substitute tractor cannon for heartshadow since you can also apply a debuff with the heavy attack, but if you want to go invis in harder content to get to your target and hit them with the one two punch combo without taking much damage that might be nice also!
Cross counter is currently bugged with the new super, if you use it with the old arc strider it procs on enemy melee hits.
Thank you for this - I’ve been experimenting with this same build but couldn’t get past the incoming boss melee damage not procing. Also bountiful and multi melee wellmakers don’t seem to stack properly with liars handshake either. You hit a few good points I hadn’t considered in the build. Very nicely put together 👍🏻
explosive well maker proc with the arc explosions, combine that with well of life, 100 res, spark of resistance and healing you get, you'll never die
wastelander with one two punch and the new sidearm and or scout rifle w/ volt shot for long ranges, feels sooooo good and smooth.
Just realized that the arc abilities screen has the hunter holding an arc knife that we can't use lmao
I went with acrius instead of tractor for trench barrel at the end of the 2nd punch.
theres a bug rn where after dodging and trying to proc liars handshake, you melee 3 times normally before the perk is activated
Even before I saw this build; with liar's handshake alone, I've been stun locking bosses while my five other teammates lay into them just to put it out of its misery not even because I need help killing it. And now you tell me I could unleash an entirely new kind of hell on to the darkness. Amazing
re do the melee time for dps, whiffing a melee has to be different timed that hitting an enemy
So for the one two punch hunter would you suggest acrius or tractor cannon?
What I find amazing with Arc 3.0 so far is that it performs great by itself without being tied to the seasonal mods, unlike Void and Solar. The only thing that completes the kit is the Arc Super boost on wounded/Amplified.
Does anyone know if jolt chain lightning procced explosive wellmaker?
YES!! Been waiting for you to give us an arc 3.0 hunter build ❤️
Didn’t have to include that hunter dumpy in the thumbnail 😳😳😳
Someone posted on Reddit that all three Hunter subclasses have the highest dps supers in the game with Star-Eaters.
Best in PvP and best in PvE damage now.
Titan and hunter focusing on dealing more dmg on melee, warlock’s builds im still trying to regen my abilities
In place of font of might and ordinance I run high energy fire and the one that makes wells give you charge with light. Not sure if it stacks with melee damage tho
Gathering storm doesn’t let you get cross counter to proc for some reason, it seems
Just to note - 1-2 punch only scales 80% bonus when paired with liars handshake - it still good tho
Does the power boost from ions stack?
I made a similar hunter build but based all on orbs and super regen, with star eater scales i can spam nuke supers back to back. Btw thanks for the information, great content
You should try out Shinobus bow now. It’s insane for PVE. You can use the arc grenade jolt fragment and the one to get ionic traces from jolted combatants, and a bunch of firepower mods and you are basically spamming grenades that work like Trinity ghoul
remember that one two punch got nerf when paired with lairs hand shake
Does tractor cannon work here? I heard the synergy between OTP and the tractor debuff was removed
What’s the best gameplay loop using tractor cannon with Liars Handshake and one two punch? Or is better not to use liars handshake with one two punch?
Been running this all season. The ideal mod for me is ion, font of might bountiful wells, and two melee wellmakers. 3 wells drop per charged melee so all ur ability’s come back asap. It’s a blast
I found this out when carl lost sector was the exotic one, I was instantly killing champions at full health at 1570 with the combination blow without 1-2 punch.
For cross counter to proc
U have to attack first then get hit by an enemy melee
Your second melee is cross counter
You say its gonna do 800k but whenever i do it i keep hitting 8k its not working on every melee for some reason
I never see the combination blow buff on my screen. Is something bugged for me?
I have the arc prophecy shotgun with one two punch and grave robber. So good for this build.
Liar handshake is inconsistent, if you are using it with gathering storm. If you put on the arcstrider super, cross counter becomes more consistent.
@@John_Smith97 well for all pve purposes, gathering storm isn’t coming off
Only issue with this build is that liars handshake procs like, 20% of the time. You can sit there and punch an enemy over and over five or six times and still not activate cross counter. Not to mention it randomly does like no damage.
Been using it 3 weeks, it works perfectly fine
@@JohnPaul-nb5iu Been using it since it was first available, it works 20% of the time. Actually using it against an enemy once a strike isn’t using it.
Has anyone tried the damaging aftershock with rdm?
Could be wrong but I think I saw somewhere that liar’s not proccing on taking melees was because of gathering storm, and using arc staff should fix it
Haha I love when things are blurred or replaced with a question mark in the thumbnail so people have to click the video. So fun haha
I'm pretty sure the boss "melee" attacks don't count because it's technically an AOE "Explosion" but the normal red bars arnt.
IIRC liars handshake, got de-tuned (can no longer spam/stun lock boss')
Love the video I use liars handshake all the time the way I activated it is Melee One two punch then melee
This is just a more optimal version of what ive already been doing since i dont have a one-two shotty, lethal current liars handshake combo is so damn fun
The thing about Liar's Handshake is the gameplay looping. It's annoying.
What about melee, 12P, X-counter? It would buff the damage on the cross counter, right?
Finally a good melee build video with actual numbers and mathematical optimization.
Is it just me or when cross-counter is active I just cannot for the life of me get Swashbuckler to proc. When I kill things as solar or void with melee attacks it gets the x5 just fine, but Arc it only procs on actual gun kills.
Wait is one two punch fixed because it was bugged for me a few days ago
Never thought I would read that thumbnail again after Liar's Handshake came out
Bro can you make a video on Chaos Reach and Storm-trance being trash compared to other damage supers?
dang i'm a late player and i dont have some of these mods, from what i can tell some are from old artifacts and seasons? damn
Is liars handshake better than hammers?
When you run the throwing arc staff liars for some reason won’t prock, if you run it with the normal arc staff it will prock if u get hit
