Awesome build. Just wanted to share you inspired me to restore my first bike. An old 1978 Raleigh laser in mint blue. Completely took it down to the frame and rebuilt as a single speed conversion - all new or refurbished second hand. Learnt nearly everything from binging your vids. Cheers from Germany
Love your content, I discoverd you 'cause I am now going through restoring an old bike and your channel is like watching my most favourite tv series right now.
Saw this on Instagram and instantly fell in love! So glad this video got recommended. Mini velo builds make me want to put a long seat post on my bmx just for fun
Really enjoyed this build, great choice for rims have the same on my bmx! But why leave the steerer uncut? Wouldn't it look even BMXier with an actual bmx bar like an 8 or 9 inch? I imagine a frontload stem with a 9 inch bar would look sick!! Now It looks like the headtube is 9 inches especially with all black components. Anyway looking forward to more BMX inspired builds!
Cheers!! Yeah I left the steerer uncut as I wasn’t sure if I’d want to change the bars in the future to some risers or something else. I’ve cut steerers short before and have regretted it later on so wanted to avoid that haha, especially given that I don’t have any spare 20” mini Velo forks lying around haha. But yeah I totally agree some bmx bars with a cut steerer on this would look so rad, maybe in the future?🤔
Dude has a Cinelly Mash Parallax at the back! I used to have one in the same color! Now I am dreaming of a Velo-orange neutrino! Or I have for years now..
I love it! Paul Components does have a solution for most unusual fixed/singlespeed bike builds. You could have used their hub "fixed word". Most of theis hubs can be configured to the required spec. In this case: 135mm, 36 hole, silver or polished. I ordered a "fixed disc word" myself as I had the same "135mm problem" two years ago on my built. :) Check them out!
Thanks for the info! I did in fact check out Paul as an option, unfortunately the shipping to NZ pushed the price a bit out of budget unfortunately. I do actually have a Paul word single speed hub but it’s not fixed🥲
thats gotta be one of the coolest shit ive ever seen. sorry im a bit new to the fixie scene but isnt the chain tension a bit too tight? great video, i got so much inspiration!!!!!!!!!!!
thank you! very kind words! I usually run a slightly tighter chain for doing tricks, as it feels a lot nicer and is more responsive. you don’t really want much slack. but for normal street riding or velodrome racing a bit of slack reduces the friction and resistance
Didn’t know abt this Brand - Kyoot. I would prefer the steer tube to be cut if it is going to be fitted with a BMX Stem. Just a personal preference. May look better with a BMX bar and chainwheel + Profiles for the BMX Look !
Hey, I'm currently building my first 20" wheels, concerning spokes tension, I'm curious how you settle on the right tension. That's my very first wheels and I suppose I can't get a reference from my 28" bikes. I don't have a tension meter, but those does not seem to work on 20" wheels anyway. I'm also on a 36H 3 cross. Thanks!
Yowsu! Nice build as always, I have a question tho. My friend just stripped his frame's bottom bracket threads, he really loves his frame and badly wants to fix it up. Is there any way to fix up a frame's bb threads?
Thanks! Good question, there’s a few bottom brackets out there, mainly square taper. If you search up sunlite or yst stripped bottom bracket it should come up with a few options
Find a cat that has secret wheel building ability’s and leave the parts laying out, go make a cuppa tea or hot beverage of choice and by the time you get back there’s usually a fully built wheel, trued and tensioned 👌🫣 for finger snapping speed you may need to add some catnip to the equation
Yeah it is quite spinny, great for tricks. I run a similar gear on a 700c but didn’t realise 20” would make such a difference, might chuck a 16 or 15t on and test it out
Hey, I do have a store www.waveywheelies.com mainly for merch and stickers. Will hopefully have some parts soon. (My store shows in $usd but is based in NZ) What are you after?
You got those wheels disgustingly true
😂
Bro fr🤣
Timing on my lunch break 🔥🔥🔥

Wavey Wheelies has the vision! Always speccing super sick builds
Always great to see you shred that thing at the end
Stoked to see this show up in my feed. I lover my kyoot. These are so fun and easy to roll on.

out of all your builds, this one is the sickest i dunno why 😂 its so beautiful 😍
haha thank you❤️
Absolutely beautiful 😍 i would love to see one build up as a commuter with gears, excellent video keep it up👍
Thank you! Yeah a commuter build on one of these would be so fun. PS I love your profile pic🍺🫡
So sick! love the mashup with omniums and bmx kit! Would love to take this for a spin

@@waveywheelies Awesome can't wait for more videos!
The bike looks so good and so much fun!
CLEAN !
I have the same Thomson Brooks combo on my single speeder. Used to ride with a zen chainring too. Your build is righteous.
the dreamiest of the dream builds this channel has seen so far. it has the cat and everything. would love to rip around my town on one of these…
thankyou! you should, I’ve had so much fun on this thing already, definitely recommend building one🫡
The cat inspection was cute
Love your videos, man! Great quality. Always inspiring to see you build different bikes. Broadens my horizon on what kind of bikes are out there
Old school Brompton 🔥
Hell yeah I want a mini fixie now
Heck yeah🫡
That is a super sweet build!!!
Kyoot bikes are so fun.
I want this bike! Nice job. Nice parts.
Cheers!
thats so sick! love the Build! Cheers from Berlin germany :)
that bike looks great fun😀👍🏻
only if you like swinging your leg over the top tube/seat every time you want to mount/dismount.
A bike with proportions like this might work well for winter commuting in the snow.
So friggen dope
Love the Color and surface choices. 98 % perfect :-) I would make it even more pure. Complete silver chain. A black Stem.
badass mini velo
Awesome bike! Now I really want one of these 😍
Do it 🥹
Dude has a Cinelly Mash Parallax at the back! I used to have one in the same color! Now I am dreaming of a Velo-orange neutrino! Or I have for years now..
El gallito😅
Buen proyecto! Gran video!
Haha I had to put it in😂
and thank you!
Looking for a mini velo frame a long time ago. Nice build i love it
Cheers! They are super fun
I love it!

Yeah I did think about using some profile cranks. Would definitely look rad with them
I have thise grips on a couple of my bikes, but I run them the other way with the fat part on the inside
I'm already dreaming of a that bike, set up with dynamo hub, front rack & Animal x T1 Tires somehow.
Dang…now I want one of these…
Sick build!!! Can you do a folding fixie next time?
love it!
cheers!
Video is as good as the build!
Cheers❤️

cool! Build, tricks
Cheers!
I can finally breathe 😤
Miss the days of being able to ride a wheelie on a 20 inch bike and not just manual
It would be sick if you could buy a 14mm rear droupout attachment so you could run bmx wheels with some spacers

I gotta learn that trick where you snap your fingers and the wheel builds itself instantly. Any tips?

nice build man, fixedgear mini velos are also common here haha
thanks man! that’s awesome, I don’t really see them out in the wild over here, I wish I did though
@@waveywheeliesi see them mostly used for commuting though 😅
What are the chances I just had the mini velo I had ordered arrive on Thursday ha!. Nice build though!.
Haha awesome, you building it up fixed?
Should put some Skyways on it
How about alternating silver and black stem spacers?
I did think about it, might give it a play with and see how it looks
Gangster bicycle
very original build man. What's the name of the kitty?
cheers man! Its bubbles :)
How much does it weight?
44:17 on a mini velo is wild, 20ish mph max?
Okay, it's sick. Would love something like this for bike polo.

nice one ;-)

Im also In New Zealand (SI) Do you run an online store.... or who do you recommend?
Hey, I do have a store www.waveywheelies.com mainly for merch and stickers. Will hopefully have some parts soon. (My store shows in $usd but is based in NZ)
What are you after?
Man that bike is 🐀🐀🐀🐀🐀
level components makes a fixed hub in black or silver in 36h
Cannondale made a city bike like that awhile ago
If that frame is aluminum I'd say it is the same factory that made it.
The cannondale hooligan? This frame is chromoly steel and is quite a lot different than that
No disrespect, I was just wondering.
Can we have this bike in europe ?
❤😮❤
New mic? I swear the quality sounds better, but maybe I'm just bugging haha.
Haha, not new but some of my older videos I did use my iPhone mic. Have been using a Rode one for at least a year or two now
i want one too
Highly highly recommend🥹
Better to Crack on than to be on crack!
True that!
so tall boy bmx
Bro the dropouts slide horizontally not vertically 😁 JS.
cat and chain are the same color
🥹 that’s why she must have jumped up to check it out
you put the grips backwards, its killing me
This is actually the correct way. The flanged version of the ODI still has the flared end for the bar end to nest into

that chain looks so bad compared to the rest of the bike. just throw gold half links on it so its atleast appealing
Нафига фикс для трюков собирать на, длинном как лимузин, мультиспид фреймсете непонятно
Just missing some fenders, a bell and a lamp
Looks like a grown man riding a child’s bike get some normal sized tires
