  • This is a great baitfish / minnow pattern for steelhead. Tied on a Partridge Waddington Shank this intruder and scandi inspired pattern can be tied in a few variations, but I prefer the unweighted and fished on a sink tip. A great Steelhead or smallmouth bass fly.

    Is there a reason you went with the 14lb Fireline over 30lb Fireline? 30lb seems to be the norm I always see.

      The 14lb is doubled over (so there are 2 loops). I've found it holds the hook in place (straight with the profile of the fly) better than a single loop of 30lb. But its all personal opinion

      Most guides tie with 60-80# spider or fireline.
