This was an awesome guide and I'm definitely going to learn how to play this build. Might hit you up with some questions about it if you don't mind Aizza
I found this to be one of the best explanations of the Herald role and how it serves your role in groups. You have a way of explaining the uses of utilities and skills in a way that gives a better sense of role than most guides and videos. I hope you did more of these and update some of the videos that have been overtaken by game changes in balance patches. Thanks.
Just levelled a Herald on a second Rev mostly for flavour and there is a relatively small amount of PVE info on Herald, this makes me happy thanks Teapot!
This is my main build, I play all the time I find it more survivable in almost all situations you find yourself in, I can fight my way out. Thank you for shedding a light on this awesome build
This is what I needed, I felt like herald was not worth my time but I think that I was wrong and I want to give it a try to this build. Thanks You very much
I was playing this on Samarog for a while and it was really good. The main problem for me is all the Herald boons are usually covered already and the Prot isn't very useful in many fights if people know the fight. It really should just make 25 might and have a concrete role in a squad. It's so hard to fit optimally, and now I can just swap to Renegade (unless we need a push) and do even more damage. For starter raids it's great, but the better people get, the more redundant Herald is imo
I have a trick for this. I don't actually have renegade spec fully unlocked nor the gear. So either they kick me or they are fine with my herald :) probably the first one :(
Only thing forgoten here is that not only dwarf stability , but also Centaur find its uses for high upkeep proejctile block , that trivializes some fights , like a certain strike mission :D Otherwis good job :D
@MightyTeapot, this video is damn awesome!!! I haven't seen such good breakdowns of builds/elites very often. As somebody trying to pick up Herald (150h of mainly renegade and vindicator vs 1400h on my Guard) this video is super inspirational, expecially digested alongside Muk's "LI quickHerald", Hizen's "Stomp PvE" meme builds and MrMystics "faceroll to DPS boonspam" build. Those vids are all great builds - but lack the detail and depth of this. This was just really great; thanks :)
renegade can also maintain 100% protection uptime with kalla. this build is mostly taken in pugs where boon uptimes are patchy. in statics. you pretty much maintain 100% fury and 25 might for most of encounter, while protection uptimes are generally high. with druid, hb and ren
I've basically been running this build for the past year or so without really realizing it! It started as power Rev and I tweaked the traits to make it a bit more comfortable for group content
Fun Fact: Dance of death is even MORE broken underwater because the underwater skills are loaded with vuln, much more than the land weapons. And I really mean a lot of vuln. Trident 5 is up to 22 vuln stacks, 50% chance per hit. Trident 2 is 8 on a 6 sec cd, the autos apply vuln. Spear 2 is 8 vuln on a 5 sec cd.
1 thing: herald(and probably revenant overall) require time to learn how to manage your energy because if you don't - your own class punish you more than boss mechanics or mobs
Rev has such cool aspects, but it’s stuck on the lamest build imaginable with alacregade. Alacrity share on Kalla is such a jank shoehorn design. And the legend is otherwise so boring... On top there’s ONE cool skill on your weaponset and you don’t use it because it’s a dps loss, awesome. Even Glint/Jalis boonsupport back in the day felt less jank.
His heal version is probably the best healer/boon right now. You can provide 900/s perma regen + perma prot, speed, fury + some might for 10, huge cc available, 20% more boon in herald. In ventari, you have an 2k regen when you add regen+F2+tablet passiv without using any skill. If you want to be the only healer/boon, you probably need a miralac to provide might. On low pressure boss, you can swich ventari to Shiro, to provide +2k dps group with F2 life steal. Regen is the first healing output on all healer class. With a such high regen, you praticly don't need any heal. Boss in raid don't attack really often so regen will proc mutiple time between 2 stricks. In term of heal, HScg is best because it's best to prevent damage. But if you have both (Herald heal/boon + HScg), you're squad is just invincible. Regen proc under you barrier.
This is very close to my own build, except I play with Sentinel Gear as a tanky boy, Glint + Jalis. The spinning hammers also triggers Shiro's vamp stacks. 33% damage reduction + 20% damage reduction + Perma quickness upkeep, life is good.
Use sword and staff whirl finishers in lighting fields while standing inside enemy hitboxes for more Battle Scar damage. Now for the impractical Lifesteal Rev advice; For even more battle scars, you can run sigil of frailty. If you want to go nuts on lifesteal as a rev, also take a sigil of leaching (weapon swap runes also proc on legend swap), take Grieving stats and torment runes, with Shiro/malyx. Battle scars cannot crit, so they only need power. Now go underwater with a trident, and put out as much vuln and torment as you can. Use mallyx elite and trident 3 for dark fields so your projectiles gain extra lifesteal with your multihit projectiles. If your luck is perfect, you could use trident 5 and put out 24 stacks of battle scars, and 24 lifesteal procs, or 24 more vuln with a lightning field instead.
The funny part is that when 10 target boon application got nerfed and everyone lost their 10 target unique stuff Herald 20% Boon Duration is still 10 target. Raid Wing 7 was interesting to run Heal Quick Herald in full Celestial which some how was more than enough healing. You take Centaur on the first two bosses and Dwarf for the last one. I think full minstrel would be better for Tanking but hey, that is the old 10 target ala condi renegade stats :D I got to use my old gear without stat swapping yay.
I mainly play condi Rev, but I had an old Power Herald build lying around that I modified to this boon build. So far it is fun, but I'm having serious issues with surviving, battle scars don't heal as much as I need. Did you try to play this build with celestial gear? I could imagine that it is quite powerful, even if you trade in damage, but you'd get a lot of concentration, sustain and heal.
@@MightyTeapot Thanks for your answer. I quickly farmed a whole set of Celestial (bladed armor) and I'm really happy with it. The damage in open world is still fine on Shiro and even Glint, and when running Metas, people benefit from better boon uptime :) And sustain is obviously way better. Still running ranged renegade with torment runes for tough situations tho until I can handle the herald better
I'll just stick to my Celestial/Viper Renegade which is a very strong solo build for just about everything in the Open World. Massive DPS, super high self-sustain, fun skill floor to learn and play, and just very overpowered in general when used properly. Herald is subpar in comparison.
@@Moo.1336 invocation 222, devastation 333, renegade 223, celestial everything, mix and match viper pieces as needed for extra DPS, and superior runes of tormenting for mad sustain. Pretty flexible with legend choices as well.

10/10 for open world events. -10/10 if seen in any other content thanks to people not actually beeing that terrible to have decent boon uptime. One question. True Nature has description that says increases applied boons for 2 seconds but in video it's said to increase by %20. I already checked wiki and no changes to ability since video is posted. Can someone explain to me why 2 seconds regarded as 20% boon uptime in the video? Ty.
Ive been running with sword/ axe and demon instead of assassin. Feels good, but thats just in open-world pve. Im returning from since vanilla so Im experiencing the game.
In theory with good players, yes. In practice, with a ten-player group, this build does a pretty good job of covering any gaps in boon coverage, still does decent DPS if you run Shiro (because of Facet of Nature: Shiro spread across ten players on top of your personal DPS), does not rely on a strict rotation and thus is less impacted by things that can disrupt a rotation, can facetank some things that will down more specialised builds, and is probably one of the best builds for continuing to contribute while dealing with a mechanic. Like alacrigade, too, it has flexibility to switch to another core legend if that will help with a specific issue presented by an encounter. Which is not to say that it's a must-include, but sometimes having a bit of redundancy at a small DPS lost is a good trade.
@@aviatejazii1738 Less useful because the ten-player part is irrelevant, and you probably wouldn't bring it if you were looking to set records, but it's still a decent DPS with a bit of utility.
