Peptic Ulcer Disease (PUD) is a disease involving ulceration of the gastrointestinal mucosa, often involving the stomach (gastric ulcers) and the first part of the small intestine - duodenum (duodenal ulcers). PUD can be caused by a variety of causes, of which infection with helicobacter pylori and chronic use of NSAIDs are the most common causes. The ulceration can cause a variety of signs and symptoms, which slightly differ between gastric and duodenal ulcers. In this lesson, we discuss these signs and symptoms, including why they occur, when they occur, and what makes them better and worse. We also discuss some complications of peptic ulcer disease, including warning/alarm symptoms.

I had an ulcer for 7 years before a doctor took me seriously. In that time I had a full hysterectomy in my 30’s and was also accused of being addicted to opiates because they didn’t think anything was wrong with me. After my GP retired and I had a new doc he sent me to a surgeon who immediately ordered a scope and then found a duodenal ulcer. I now carry the frequent flyer opiate addict due to doctors not taking me seriously and I am not! In fact I am never in the ER anymore since being properly diagnosed and treated. So doctors, no matter what you think is going on, please take your patients seriously!

I have some of the symptoms contains in your subject about Peptic ulcer. I have heartburn started few years ago & it worsened when I have strained my left upper back last January. I still have a slight back pain but my heartburn really gets severe. I started to take meds. but it didn’t really help but diet does help a little. I’m having a endoscopy soon & I hope it will show whatever is going on in my stomach. My lifestyle was really change now. It impacted my activities, my eating, my sleeping. Still trying to be positive to avoid stress but sometimes I can’t help, I lose hope to get better. I’m so thankful that I’m religious and have a strong faith to God. I believed that everything happens for a reason and hoping to get well soon and still can go back to my old lifestyle. I learned so much from your discussions & I’m so thankful for that. I lose 15 lbs. since January. I ate small amount frequently & following my diet that I have searched online.
Done with my Endoscopy. It was normal including biopsies. I stopped taking meds. regularly but as needed, yes. I started to take herbal tea & it relieved me a lot. I also started to eat more greens. Yeah! It’s helping.
But still experienced bloating . At the same time I also experienced short breath, tightness of chest & throat that made me tired & over fatigue. It was not bad as it was but it’s very uncomfortable. Can’t even go to work anymore. I know that something wrong with me. I just don’t know what it is.

I believe I may have solved my own stomach issues in that case. Yet I'm still going to have my stomach checked out just to be on the safe side. This truly helped.

Christian im here r n you not alone mine now getting better but it either takes 6 weeks to complety go or 3 or 3 months tho if you eat 🍌 its good for you milk say that its good but its kinda. A side thing just eat healthy if you cant get nothing from the doctor

I think I’m going through all this as well, my stomach hurt and having chest pain and discomfort. I feel weak and lost appetite as well. I did a lot of test but only the ulcer test was positive. Have been on medication but it won’t go away

Get some manuka honey. Chamomile tea and drink that to stop the burning. Drink cabbage juice, aloe Vera juice, and bone broth. ❤️mix the honey in the tea.

Appreciate the share! To add to this, Gut health is so important for overall health! A survey from 2018 of 71,000 Americans found that 61% had at least 1 bothersome gut issue! The most common gut symptom was acid reflux or GERD, then abdominal pain, then bloating.
I am going through that right now and have done so in the past and got better. The cure was weight loss and exercise. If i dont run and gym and eat too much a put weight on then its IBS and duodenal ulcur. Pain 4 hours after eating, lots of gas pushing the duodenum forwards, lots of acid reflux, sharp stabbing pains. Cure right now is to reduce callories, food quantities. Eat twice a day only. Exercise that reduces weight to get the duodenum back under the stomach where it reduces in width and does to collect gas like a ballon. I am now on day 2 of my emergency weight loss program. Had an oaty meal prior to sleeping and woke up without gas. The IBS goes with correct body weight too. 2 stones overweight. I the midst of all this pain i was picking up boxes for 11 hours. As of now i am starting to feel a massive possitive difference.

I highly recommend if you feel something wrong get it checked. I had a bleeding ulcer and didn't know because I had no symptoms. So basically everything happened at once or THE SAME TIME. I'm well now but get it checked
Ibuprofen is the worst thing ever! I literally had no idea when during my painful period, a few days ago, on days 1 and 2, I took ibuprofen… the ibuprofen caused me so much stomach pain: the middle and lower abdominal… Burning pain and some digested blood in my stool… This is ongoing for a few days now. Never ever will I take I ibuprofen again

what about the shortness of breath brought on by these?
I’ve had the very same problem… the shortness of breath stayed for weeks to months until I limited certain foods and meats. Constipation may also trigger bloating leading to shortness of breath. I would advise you and everyone else suffering from SOB to get a finger pulse Oximeter just on the safe side to monitor your oxygen level :) currently positive for a stomach infection and on treatment - Helicobacter eradication therapy. But my SOB and bloating has stopped due to limiting meat intake, not drinking full fat milk and stopping painkillers. If you struggle with constipation try to take something called ‘ajwain seeds’ and chew them (they will be hot 🌶 so chew and then swallow with water) but it should make you go the next morning if you eat it at night.
It's so true I am having a hard time . When I eat food I blow and feel full quickly , right now I am having that I had a terrible time , pain at chest , burning at heart , farting , belching one steady non stop, pain at my stomach area , short of breath , headache , dizziness, weakness , yellow colour eyes , pain at my two foot , cramp at my hands n feet , sinuses infection which giving me a hard time to breath and ear pain, high heart rate . I went to my first doctor and he give me medication for lungs I didn't get to explain full about my symptoms that's last year may it happen went to doctor September 2021, I visit another doctor January and February I did pressure test , cholestrol normal, heart test normal , h.pylori negative , lungs test the doctor found that I had cold since last year asking if covid but the lungs is healthy also an ultrasound which show kidney, spleen , liver , pancreas, duodenum, appendix all is good except for my stomach which noted excessive bowel gas , the specialist told me to do an endoscopy to rule for ulcers n cancer . My only 2 option left is to do an endoscopy and h.pylori breath test . I had more symptoms acid comes up back at my throat causing me the cold , cough , backpain and neck , jaw and arm not for get dirrehea with things cloudy it's hard . I really need a solid cure .

I have sharp pain, swelling when I eat, then days later burning in the entire tract and then it goes. I feel so tired and I have terrible belching and bloating even after a bland meal. I am also losing weight too.

@@shoppingstorebynikita3823 I'd still go see a doctor. I have this, and was in the ER with a blood count of 6.2. I was in no way able to fix this on my own, just by eating healthy. I was unable to keep any food down, and what I did keep down, I was bleeding out.
I had to have a blood transfusion as well as take medications to stop the bleeding.

Is it possible to have both at the same time? I never had stomach issues in my life, then suddenly it started and hasn't gone away. I'm not used to this and not sure what to do about it, without having to go to the doctor. I currently don't have one. The one I'd been seeing is a dictatorial, cold clinical person and I dumped him. I don't much care for doctors and prefer to avoid them as much as possible.

If anyone has these ulcers please keep a close eye on them, I left them and ended up with a stomach perforation at 29 years old, was lucky I got rushed to theatre and had an amazing doctor

@@ananhardeo904 hiya when I just had the ulcers my symptoms were feeling full really quickly, nausea and vomiting, some stomach discomfort but nothing too major as they would come and go, however when my stomach ruptured I knew immediately, I just lent over to laugh and I suddenly felt like I couldn’t catch my breath, I had chest pain that then went down to my stomach after about 15 mins and weirdly I had immense pressure on my shoulders like carrying a really heavy backpack, by the time the ambulance came my blood pressure was incredibly low and when my bloods came back I had ridiculously high infection markers, I had to go for an X-ray and USS but neither picked up the hole until I went for CT, but the ultrasound did show the fluid around my organs where my stomach was then leaking. The pain is indescribable - hope this helps you and I would 100% recommend googling symptoms of stomach ulcers as some people can vary and getting your dr to book you for a CT scan as soon as possible if suspected. If I hadn’t put mine off for so long and ignored it I wouldn’t have spent 2 weeks in the ICU with a 30cm scar now down my stomach - really hope this helps :)

hi, better late than never, but essentially gastritis is inflammation of your stomach, and ulcers are a sore (or a hole) in your stomach, duodenum or esophagus.. in some cases (mine specifically) the gastritis can be so bad it creates ulcers.
I went to base they sent me to urgent care then they sent me to the ER. I was at the ER all day and they finally called me back just to have time drink this numbing crap and then wouldn’t do a CT scan, or anything. Waste of my time. And I believe I have an ulcer. It’s so beyond uncomfortable

You need to have an EGD. They put you under, then put a scope down your mouth to look at your esophagus, stomach & duodenum.
I had a perforated stomach ulcer about the size of a nickel. Nearly killed me. The most excruciating pain I have EVER experienced in my life.
Ditto! When it perforated I have never felt pain like it, not only pain in my stomach but felt like someone was sitting on my shoulders, ended up in theatre around 7 hours after the pain started there is nothing like it
Did you also have pain in the upper back area at the same time ? Sorry for asking but this is something I’m dealing with where I get a heavy strong cramp in the abdomen and the back .. the most excruciating pain i can ever be in
@@erzenkajmolli2427 Yes. A lot of pain in my upper back. Made it really hard to breathe. Felt like I'd been kicked in the back by a horse.

@@erzenkajmolli2427 My ulcer ended up perforating the lining of my stomach. I ended up with a hole in my stomach and you can easily die from that. The easiest way for them to check is to have them do an endoscopy. They put a little tube down your throat with a camera. They can see if you have any ulcers or other stomach issues. Other than that, I don't think there's much they can do. Even when my ulcer burst through my stomach, I was taken by ambulance to the hospital and they actually sent me home! The doctors told me it was indigestion! Then I ended up back in the ER less than 2 hours later.
I would be adamant about having them do an upper endoscopy. It's a quick and painless procedure. Do that to be on the safe side.

How about the pain of the stomach it happened daily... May friend confined to the hospital and he had ulcer as the findings of the doctor.
I have burning and pain before I eat then it goase away slowly after but it take time to go away, and I have strong burning sensation in the morning under my rib cage area.
And that's weird.....so all ulcers are ONLY made in the stomach wall and the duodenum wall.....but not anywhere else like all throughout the intestinal tract though?

Here's whats up with me, wake up feeling sick and I can't wake up till about 6 in the evening, maybe that's due to me not eat as much because of feeling sick when I eat it gets a little better but my stomach feels off and makes noises, my poop is fairly soft during the day but soild in the morning time this is going on about 4 days now, at first I thought it was maybe anxiety but this is actually sore now like a pain, I am laying in my back now and it feels better but i start to feel sick when I get up and move around I'll go to the doctors on Monday hopefully I get it sorted

Eat jaulo for 2 months and avoid spicy foods and pain killers like ibuprofen and you will be fine.

Helicobacter pylori infection,non steroidal,related with other disease.
This occurs in stomach and duodenum.
Epigantric pain
Epigastric discomfort,gnawing or burning sensation,this pain increases after eating in stomach ulcer, or may b increases 1 to 3 hours after eating in duodenal ulcer.related to sphincter relaxation and entry of food in duodenum.
Night-time pain and sleep disturbance in common in duodenal ulcer.
If gastric content enters in esophagus there may b heart burn.
If there is bleeding, blood may b digested and black tarry stool can occur.
If rapid bleeding fresh blood may come with stool.
This bleeding may cause iron deficiency anaemia
Stomach ulcer increases after eating so pt may have wt loss.
Duo ulcer pain increases in empty stomach so this pt eats to releive pain. This can cause wt gain.
The pt may complain nausea and vomiting. Due to reaction to ulcer and secondary to pain or discomfort but this is uncommon.

Stop smoking eliminate certain foods that cause heartburn. Go for light walk after eating to help with digestion. These are just some things that helped me.

My medication are flagly 400mg 2 times morning afternoon and night and claritomicyn cap500m 2 times daily , gavisvon syrup 100ml and cap rebrepanol 200mg 1 time daily

when eat processed food ( ex saucisson etc...) I have instant pain on my stomach. Chicken and avocado also cause me pain but only 2h after eating.
