Love the simplicity of the explanation. First time film camera owner here, and I was definitely overwhelmed after receiving this as a gift. However, you made it easy for me to be comfortable starting to shoot by focusing on the essentials of getting started. Thank you for the video!

I purchased four of these bodies. Back 15 years ago people were disposing to these bodies and you could pick one up cheap. One is mint perfect and the other three are in very good to excellent condition. Back in 1983 they sold for $470 USD. It’s was always on of my favorite bodies and the addition of multi pattern metering makes it an unsung classic.

I just purchased a Nikon FA and find this video very helpful. It has been a long time since I've shot film and this should help protect me from screwing up too many rolls! Thanks for doing it!

I always was a Canon man, before going to digital I had a A1. I bought a for sheer curiosity one cheap FA and a 28-85 zoom. I am amazed with it.
What a beauty of a camera.

Thanks for showing the features of this camera. This video is very helpful for me, especially for the demo on how to insert film on this camera.

Hi, thanks for sharing, very desirable and quite rightly so, do you shoot much film through it?
I did not know it was camera of the year but not surprising especially with the matrix metering....

How do I see if the film roll is already used?

Hi, if you think the camera has a film in it DO NOT open the back, check the frame counter, a little window above the advance lever top right hand side, this indicates the number of pictured taken, if it reads 20 or 36 chances are that there is a film in it, try using the film advance lever(gently), if there is resistance then the film has been completed. Try turning the rewind knob on the top left clockwise, again, if you feel resistance then there is a film in the camera,,,any problems please feel free to come back to me 😊
