I used to live on Mayport Road when I was stationed back in Jacksonville in 2002. Former Navy. I loved it there. I visited St. Augustine a lot and I remember how floored I was because it was so beautiful. We stood at a bed and breakfast there I believe it was in Ghost town. I remember there was a some kind of Fort there. It was breathe taking. I am recently thinking about moving back down there from NYC maybe even purchasing or constructing a home as I am waiting for a transfer for my job USPS. Once that goes through I could go back to Jax. Thanks for this video. I subscribed and I’ll be checking out your channel. Thanks so much.!
I drove by it while on the way to Daytona Beach and it looked nice. I still have that curiosity and I'm trying to decide where I'll live later. I'm from SC
I have been working for the airport doing customer service operations and ground operations. I only have 5000$ right now thinking about making my move. I have been looking for airport jobs in Jacksonville and apartments there. What do you think, is possible with amount of money. Any suggestions, I would like to hear it.
I noticed you said Jacksonville is welcoming to veterans with job opportunities. Why is that and can you help direct me towards those career paths. Wife and I are planning on moving their next year and definitely want to have my foot in the door with as many opportunities as possible.
i've been planning on moving to Jacksonville since I began high school, and now i'm one year away from graduating college, planning on moving as soon as i'm done!
I see manufactured home around Florida and Jacksonville but are Pole Barns acceptable within zoning regulations? The Barndominium build is appealing in Texas but the climate in Florida is better. Is that build or what type of modular home options are available for VA funded buyers?
Hoping to make Jacksonville home by the end of 2021. Can anyone tell me what the job market is like. What are some good communities to live. I am a veteran and work in managed care for Medicaid services. Any help would be appreciated. I am looking to rent not buy
I'm thinking of moving to Jacksonville sometime next year. I am a paramedic with a wife and a daughter and I just don't know why I will be a good area to look at. I know there's always good and bad areas do you recommend any?
My fiance and I are planning on moving there about this time next year fall 2021. I've lived my entire life in a small farming community in Utah. Moving clear across the country is exciting yet scary as hell for me. Not sure what to expect I just hope it's a good experience
We will be glad to have you! Huguenot Park Beach is a city park that you can drive on which is really nice and unspoiled. No lugging chairs and coolers!
been doing alot of research in living in Fl and our recent trip last Oct to Clearwater, Tampa, Orlando and Key West I love Tampa the best but not the hot weather. Upon further research it seems Jacksonville is more suited for my weather taste considering we are now living on the PNW. I could get a job transfer there (providing if they let me relocate) and being older I am set in buying a home that is on one level, not in a HOA zone and would love to have a pool. Surprisingly my home here in Oregon is far more than FL so it's a win/win for me and in some places my property tax is cut in half. I have family and classmate in FL so it's nice to know familiar faces in the area. What I like to know is how best to start the ball rolling in finding a home because even though the home is very appealing I don't know the neighborhood status. Looking to be moved to FL by summer 2021.
Well I'm not a veteran, but I'm sick of the West Coast and I absolutely have to get out of Oregon, Portland in particular, I have to do this for my sanity! Jacksonville Florida is from what I've read on the internet my target to move to first.
i've lived in Jacksonville for 30 years before moving.. Snowbirds and a lot of military (2 bases) is what is ruining jax. Crime too.... the ole saying 'stay strapped or get clapped' Only thing I miss about jax is surfing Hugenot Park
Thanks for the video. I have a question. An in retired US Maine and my wife is Taiwanese and we live in Taiwan. We thinking about moving there but not sure what area will be save for here and our 3 year daughter. My daughter knows about alligators and the pythons there in Florida. She is scared about this. Also she is From Taiwan and not China so she is not so found of mainland Chinese. So not sure what area she will be happy. Any ideas
So as someone who has been TO Taiwan (briefly) and and I'd from FL, climate wise Their pretty close. If your looking for a good place for kids that's accessible and convinient as well as affordable, I personally recommend Tampa, specifically the western side of the metro area. Lots of good schools and the crime on this side is extremely minimal, almost non existent.
You usually won’t see gators very often, but they are around. I highly suggest avoiding any freshwater ponds, streams, rivers, or lakes for swimming as they are likely to contain a gator or water moccasin. In N FL, we don’t have pythons, but you may run into an occasional snake. I’d say I see maybe one or two a year and go on frequent walks in nature trails. The important thing is to be aware and watch your step. Make sure you have good shoes and walk on a good path or area without tall grass. But don’t be afraid or let that keep you from living here.
Would u be able to help me make the transition to Jacksonville? I currently live in a small town outside of Baton Rouge La. Please help I really want to move there.
Theonlyonestanding they are more common in central and south Florida but I have heard of one forming in the city. However, we have no earthquakes, volcanoes, or major tornadoes.

It has its good areas and bad areas. Yes. It is quite dangerous in areas. But, a lot of the city is really nice and safe too.
