"UA-cam doesn't want you to watch this video" -Video gets recommended to me several times even though I've never heard of the channel before, and don't watch all that much content similiar to theirs
The explanation I read in the comments for that was because the shadowban had been removed but honestly don't believe a word of that anymore. The fact he's put his entire channel on hold for 2 years to do this is wild too.
I would also like to point out that I've NEVER heard of the channel until the video started showing up in my recommendations constantly over the past week or so.
@@CaspianNomad it's likely that people buying the shadowban narrative are simply doing so because they were primed to believe that YT is screwing BC over. Especially since it's far more likely that a dead channel suddenly uploading a video, long after the big online video boom due to a certain virus, is going to have a hard time being picked up by an algorithm that promotes regular uploads and consistent viewer watchtime. And the sudden increase in visibility is more likely because of a recommendation from a bigger yter (mutahar) and a snowball effect from the algorithm. No need for a shadowy conspiracy to explain it but their video sets you up to believe it.
What you experience is a form of survivorship bias. I was subscribed to the Business Casual channel. I got the video in recomended, and as I usually do, I was thinking "ok next time i open youtube ill chose this video" because usually top recomended yt videos show up for like 3 days in a row for me. But guess what, it was nowhere to be found. Now that I watched it, like 3 weeks after, I see that indeed, it has a lot more views / likes, etc, so it was clearly unshadowbanned. The other guys in this comment section who weren't subscribed were part of the set of people that the algorithm thought would be a good match. I always get yt video recomendation from channels I don't watch. It is normal.
I remember back when you first mentioned you were going to make a little bit of a content change and go harder into consumer advocacy stuff. I was a little bit sceptical but you’ve been killing it ever since and the work you’re doing is Impressive bro! I will admit I miss the game mechanic breakdowns and stuff but there’s a million guys doing that,, I legit think what you’re doing now is important congratulations and good luck💪🏼 🇨🇦🖤🇺🇸
This stuff is more important. Censorship is unacceptable and had reached a point where a lot of gate keepers have crossed over into legit evil. We all have to help stop this because it's quickly ruining the world.
i saw business casual's video and it gave me an uneasy feeling like there was some bias behind it other then like "woo people against the system". and as much as i wanted to be all for that. because of that feeling im so glad people are talking about it.
Do whatever you wish with political tribalism and group identity, deserves to be shat upon. I just do not wish to see suicide and depression to become a mockery of their severity. That you promote individualism and autonomy, I fully support, but your first example seems to do the exact opposite.
@@sinsiliuxs120 I know, but that is more effectively done at demonstrably arguable affects, and not ones mental state. That is an immediate logical fallacy and a detriment to therapy as a whole.
@@sinsiliuxs120 "I'm suicidal" is always a clear indication for self destructive tendencies; instability by default. No proper argument can be based from that. That much is clear to anyone. When used in a discussion or argument, its an automatic call for sympathy points, as any and all attempts to gain insight have been disregarded. Seeing how severely depression is left untreated, statistically, it is never correct or just to ridicule someone for being admittedly unstable, and mentally unwell. If anything, evident by some replies here, it opens up another flood-gate towards criticism, usually rightly so. But let it come from a place of compassion, instead of hatred for ones very clear signs of personal vulnerability. (Edit: "I'm suicidal" is for that reason, also a terrible opening statement for any or whatever court-case)

-.- I’m so tired of people hiding behind the “I might Kms argument”. It’s such a cheap attempt to get people to back off. There’s a world of difference between actually being suicidal and having the occasional passing thought, much less what this guy is doing in using that comment to state that he’s preparing to die on that hill.. it really detracts from people who are actually suicidal, it makes their attempts to ask for help seem like nothing more than whining or excuse making.
THIS, when I was suicidal I refused to talk about it and it hurt a lot. Seeing people use it as an excuse made me feel like if I talked about it I was a problem and that I can't bother people with it. ANYBODY who uses it as an excuse hurts people that deal with the baggage of long term suicidal thoughts.
@@nihilriv3r Exactly, when your serious about it you dont talk about it, you can even appear happy on the surface. Even if you talk to someone before its in private, not trying to use it as an excuse to act out. Only people trying to use it as a weapon do that. Its honestly pretty scummy to try and do what BC did.
I hate UA-cam as much as the next person, but this thing of trying to force them to delete some network that is managed by different people, it's like, imagine if I was part of a network, along with Business Casual. If he makes a mistake, does my channel have to be deleted?? That's insane man.
Yep, he's trying to make the reasons we dislike YT far worse. He sounds like a deranged lefty demanding that social media silence anyone he has the tiniest issue with.
When I first saw the BC's video, before all the controversy, it immediately struck me with suspicion by its length, the generously produced quality and the general tone of over-driven emotions... all for a few seconds of copyrighted footage. And yes, it was pushed several times in my feed and I haven't engaged with BC's content before.
I seen the vid get recommended yesterday, and usually I would have just scrolled by without giving it a second thought. But I had watched UEG's other vid on the topic on Sunday...so instead I reported Business Casual's vid.
I believe BC just has mental health issues as nobody in their sane mind would make such outraged claims and go so far in this "fight". The fact that BC has confirmed "fighting with inner demons" in a letter to UEG pretty much confirms this to me.
Funnily enough what actually struck me as suspicious was his voice. I was an early viewer of Business Casual, back when they only had a handful of videos. I had no idea who this Alex Edson guy is, I was not aware of the controversies around PowerTV, all I know is that he didn't actually sound like the guy from the earlier videos when it was still the owner mostly doing the scripts and narrating. Only recently did I find out that the channel was already sold three years ago.
Glad someone's thinking critically and pushing back against this absolute lunacy rather than jumping on the bandwagon just because it sounds nice and because Russia bad, I guess? Too many people only hear the tone of an argument and fail to consider the content.
BC (business casual) sounds a lot like what msm like to spew about muh russia bullshit that they like to talk about too. Not defending russia at all tbh hate their dictator over there just get's so annoying to hear muh russia crap it get's oh so tiresome.
Russia the State, not Russia the people necessarily, is still bad but this Alex clown is wrong and also bad and those things aren't mutually exclusive. I mean you can argue the US government is bad too, and it doesn't mean that the US being in opposition to Russia automatically makes it good. That kind of thinking is so grossly oversimplified that it makes you unable to (content -damn typo) contend with reality properly. Like if you take a picture of a flower and compress it so heavily that it's just one giant pink pixel, how the hell is anyone else supposed to know what that was?
I get so tired of the phrase "bandwagoning". Everyone commenting on this is on a "bandwagon", you know why? Because NONE of us have any information other than what we've been given by media. There may be .000001% of commenters who could have had some peripheral exchange with someone who has something to actually do with the subject. Everything most of you have an opinion about is "bandwagoning". Are you enjoying your "pushing back against this absolute lunacy" bandwagon? This is the internet, grow up.
Welcome to the world of Copyright Maximalists. The sad reality is that stuff like this is not uncommon with even some in powerful positions wanting to make Copyright not only this bad, but worse. The only real difference is that they tend to be more subtle and insidious.
@@cargopilotguy305 certain people want to make copyright far too powerful =/= copyright should be abolished =/= property rights should be abolished. I'm surprised such a tiny brain has room for words like expropriation or apologist when it doesn't have room for critical thinking.

From the tone of the video I instantly knew this was going to become a shitshow. He was way too sensational and overly emotional about a copyright claim for it to end well.

Thinking conspiratorially is the natural state of humanity. It increasing is just what happens when you defund public education and glorify the self-made entrepeneur for generations: _Everyone_ thinks they already know better than everyone else when they actually know nothing. It's the Cult of Ignorance in the US: It's actually the natural inclinations of humanity, but the US _sucks_ at cowing it. In fact, corporations _love_ fostering it.
@@montyalb8788 Massive understatement of the forces at play, if you ask me. It is NOT business as usual. This is an accelerating trajectory. We are in a position in our history as a race where there is no going back, and it's very hard to know what lies ahead. It feels like new elements, good and bad, are being born every week. We are in a nebular stage - it's as though time itself is accelerating. The internet has been, and quite likely will be the most disruptive force in society for the foreseeable future (sans ecologic or economic collapse - both real, tangible existential threats,) and we will likely all have new lessons to learn, others to unlearn, and more still to relearn. We need to be present, process the now as something new, to be examined more closely than something more familiar. It has been said that it took us around a century to recover from the disruption brought about by the printing press. To say "things have always been this way" is to dismiss the ultimately unpredictable outcomes of essentially completely rearranging how we all live and communicate in the span of what... 2 generations? 3, tops? And that's not significant to you at all? You think things are the same now as they were as little as 10 years ago? We've got a generation now growing up in completely new territory. There is this sharp line in experiences between a few generations, marking the schismatic shift in lifestyles and attitudes brought on by unbelievably massive leaps in technology and pendulous global changes. It's like a singularity, either side is basically unimaginable by the other. That's how much the world has changed in such a short period of time. If you really think that the internet hasn't been a pivotal part of that, I think you haven't been paying attention, or are on the latter side of that schism and thus didn't see it happening in front of you. I think a lot of people just don't want to engage with the challenges that all of these changes bring to our lives, and our experiences in the world. It is a lot to process, and it's like there's more every day. It's understandable. People are busy, with needs to tend to, responsibilities to others, etc. But sometimes it's worth it to actively make an effort to step outside of yourself, step into the meta of this whole deal, and start posing some inquiries with a little more depth than "Same as usual, just magnified." The magnification is NOT nothing. It's worth investigating and making more sense of than that. Maybe even necessary, to navigate the societal-level changes always coming at us. Losing your step now seems like a bad proposition. Now is a great time to fall through the cracks, from lacking understanding, or a willingness to observe things more carefully and stay on top of the moment. It's so easy to lose sight of the moment... even dismiss it entirely. I'm sorry, no ill intent here... it's just, I have a hard time grasping how anyone can look around at all of the things happening over just the past ten years and not see a world sublimating into a liquid phase. These seas are getting wavier, horizons grow vaguer. Increasingly more, people are coming up short on answers for the state of our times. And still, for some, it's like there aren't questions worth asking. People are losing their curiosity at perhaps one of the most important times to hold fast to it. Make no mistakes, there is NO precedent for the present day. There never has been - that perception is a trick of the mind. Humans cannot process events without narrative, without this construct we call time. From that we derive a sense of patterning in events. But the pattern isn't actually there without you, the observer. This does not in fact make you clairvoyant, able to know the future by looking to the past. It just allows you to make practical sense of the moment. It is not the full truth. Keep your eyes open wide, keep your heart beating in your chest. Don't let the stuff out there make you so cynical that you start glazing over things and missing the nuance that exists in all matters pertaining to people - to you, me, everyone. Nihilism is abound in a big way these days. The road to it is never obvious at first, but there's one at every intersection in life, and your observations of it. It's easy to fall into the path of removing meaning from things, and I can't say I've ever seen that trajectory serve anyone all that well - it's isolating. Ego, that thing that tells you that you already understand what is going on, will bind you pretty aggressively these days. All of those people who have been radicalized, the ones who lost their oft-cited 'critical thinking' (not sure what that actually is at this point, nobody ever gives me a clear, tangibly relevant definition...) they, like you, think they understand what makes other people tick these days, with nothing but second-hand sources and superficial interactions to go on. I conceptualize it as 'ideological top-loading.' And the truth is, almost everyone is doing it right now, and often going on to ignore the implications of such dismissive and presumptuous observations. You're not as different as you like to think, looking over at your 'others' - none of us are. That's why we all must look upon the world with the eyes of a child now, to learn and grow with the changes, and not be born simply OF the changes. Humility in your perception of things is vital to that. To blame people en masse for anything does not serve a humbler mind well. Pride is the end of growth. The end of growth is the loss of self. You yourself may be sublimated into the misery and become just like those you judge to be the problem. TL;DR: You've got to come up with something better than that if you actually want to keep your finger on the pulse. The simple rationalizations, this generalizing of human behavior, it is a slippery slope to darker places. It's not productive to write people off in that way.
Another problem with your argument is that RT basically admitted that they're challenging the copyright claims because they would be terminated if they don't. They didn't say anything about challenging them on the basis that they're false claims or that they actually believe they haven't violated copyright. In fact, their own email to BC admits that they did violate the copyright when referring to the first strike. It's only on the subsequent strikes that they decided to challenge the claims because they're worried about their channels being terminated. Again, this isn't on BC but on UA-cam because they created a system then decided they weren't going to follow it when Russia threatened to cancel their business there. The problem is that UA-cam is playing favorites to suit their business and to hell with the content creators who may have spent hours on meticulously crafted unique content, and this isn't okay.
I watched the business casual video fully and i watched your video criticising them and you managed to win me over in 15 minutes over a guy with a one hour video.....lmao
Same thought. During the video, I've noticed a can of worms regarding on the fact that RT(Arabic or otherwise) has A LOT of videos than just three, multiplied by other 38 channels they have in possession. Because BC had gone ham on those 3 videos who presumably plagiarized a little bit of their footage, this didn't mean that a dozen of those videos featured footage that was ripped.
@@MarshalerOfficial The reason the whole lawsuit on UA-cam is happening though is because UA-cam has a policy of terminating all the channels of people who copyright infringe 3 times in a 90 day timespan, it's in their terms of service meaning what BC is arguing here that UA-cam violated the Tos which by law they are required to do
i hate people that think censorship of the other side is the way to go, I support chinese and russian media in western spaces. How can you react to the other side without knowing it, I just wish we had access to what they really propagate inside their borders since it would dispel the illusions so many tankies have and spread about russia and china being peaceful countries pressured by america. What they say about taiwanese and ukrainian people is anything short of dehumanization to justify any atrocity that might occur, all while blaming america for it.
What their people and media say inland helps explain why there's so much heat against Russian and Chinese governments. China is particularly messed up since they got exposed arresting the parents of overseas Chinese for using non-state approved software.
Ukraine got attacked because of Ukraine, though. They've been killing Russians in eastern Ukraine for a decade and they have a huge nahtsee problem that's been around in power and in the open since the Maidan coup in 2014. And it's directly supported and funded by the United States and the United Kingdom. I'm no Russian apologist, but Russia has more reason to be in Ukraine right now than any country in the west has had reason to invade anyone else in the last 80 years. It is far from unprovoked or completely unwarranted, especially when you consider what NATO has been doing there trying to encroach on Russia. We damn near started a nuclear war because the Soviet Union put missiles in Cuba. There is no "if" there, they do. However they don't comb through every video manually to see what should and should not be recommended. And given youtube itself has probably forgotten about the business casual channel. This was probably pushed because it got a lot of engagement.

It doesn't matter how you cut them for your scrap book, it's still a public domain image. Those pixels, no matter how you rearrange them, are still public domain.
I was wondering why youtube was randomly recommending and pushing to me a video, in which someone explains why UA-cam is getting sued. YT must be pretty confident if they are promoting that video.

"You say at the end I will not allow you to post lies about me on your channel, and that's cool because I post the truth and you get no fucking say about it, whatsoever" Well put, especially since the main issue with Business Casual seems to be his need to control others in ways he's not entitled to. Cuts right to the heart of the issue and lets him know he has no authority to silence your truthful criticism.
Well yes, they are slightly unhinged. What I suspected started with been angry that YT was not applying their own rules/regulation has mutated into this. The real issue with YT is not what Business Casual is going on about, but how the strike system works (along with the whole copyright issue not really working properly on YT). 3 strikes and you ban all channels is a bit extreme for someone with +30 channels under their name, while 3 strikes for the one or two channel might make sense (??? might still be debatable since they could be false strikes sent at the same time). The thing to consider is how many videos are posted per day from one channel vs +30 channels. Then there is the issue: what do you do to stop people from making another channel from scratch IF they where banned. Overall, I think Business Casual has an axe to grind with Russia and is angry that YT was not in their corner. The irony, is that YT decisions are all based on business decisions which I find funny having "Business Casual" complain about it.
Nah, he's got no axe to grind with Russia, it's all far simpler than that. Alex Edson (the guy behind Business Casual) was formerly Jake Paul's manager, and is therefore most likely completely disconnected from any reasonable notions of how the real world functions. Crazy guy does crazy, that's all.
I wanna point something out about the strike system even thought it's not entirely related to this. the strike system would work a lot better if it weren't for the fact that a lot of times, youtube has applied all three strikes to someone's channel at once and gotten them instantly terminated. it's basically just 1 strike at that point.
Guys, Business Casual only request UA-cam to follow its own rules. It's UA-cam's idea to remove all channels and all videos of RT, it's what they rules says. Until they changed them for RT that is.
I appreciate this video because it adds context and dates to some of the points I was more curious about that I thought was relevant, specifically the difference policies that apply based on how channels are partnered with UA-cam and when those policies were first adopted. These facts swayed my opinion regarding this issue much more in favor with the arguments you have previously brought up. The first of two issues I have with this video is the discussion starting around 8:20 on the advocacy of new laws, whether in the original BC video or the lawsuit. From how I understand it and contrary to what you said, BC isn't advocating for any new law to be adopted in their lawsuit either. They just have a different interpretation of the current laws and wish for them to be enforced through their interpretation. However, I do agree with you that, while although this difference would be beneficial to BC and their lawsuit, it would be far more detrimental across the platform and especially for smaller creators. I also agree that a deeper dive into this topic through the lens of someone with legal knowledge and experience would be enlightening. The second issue and only real topic in this video that I disagree with you on is at 16:00 about how BC would be the responsible party if Russian citizens lose access to UA-cam. You acknowledge that this result is unethical and amoral, which I agree with, but you frame it as if Russia would have no choice to but punish UA-cam and their citizens because their channels got terminated. The fact is that Russia is choosing to effectively hold their citizens (i.e. market share) hostage to continue to propagate their own state funded channels and the messaging on them. I vehemently disagree with your assertion that BC would be the responsible party if such an event happens. It is clear that BC is standing up for the rights they believe to have, and that they aren't allowing a separate entity to infringe on those rights even under threat of negative ramifications, especially entirely retaliatory threats.
Thank you for making this video. The truth can be twisted in a way to appeal to one’s morals and doing research like this can be time consuming and confusing. I watched BC’s video in full but I’m glad there are more videos on this situation like yours that aren’t just on their side. This is an incredibly complex issue and I’m glad you brought up these inconsistencies. The world is not black and white; After watching your video I can tell that BC’s video was very much trying to play it like there’s only a right side and a wrong side to be on, framing it in a way that makes it seem like they’re on a holy crusade to save american values on the platform and to fight against the russian government and its propaganda. The issue is that he’s making a call to action by his viewers when this lawsuit is their fight and no one else’s. Again, thanks for going through the lawsuits and having a level head about the sitch. Your view point on this topic brought up some very real issues with the video and youtube v. business casual as a whole.
Theory: BC from how this has all played out, is a plaint. He is working for or connected to a organization or business trying to create a system based on what he is talking on. A system where big companies or individuals can purge any and all content from a creator and completely remove them with no hope of recovery or backdoor. I have seen big groups try this on other creators, and this feels fishy comming from a dude that just had a few seconds of content used by someone else.
It looks more like garden-variety unhinged lunatic to me. There are so many problems with this as an operational concept to falsify a pretext for Russia to give Google the boot that it becomes unbelievable. Don't forget, we're talking about a country run by ex-KGB from way back when they were the world's finest espionage outfit, who wouldn't have any trouble getting complete cooperation from RT - they'd go to quite considerable lengths to fabricate a case for getting RT's UA-cam network shut down, and they wouldn't rely on the US end being handled by someone as flaky as Jake Paul's former manager.
I had the BC vid recommended to me from the discovery page and I have never seen his channel before. It was a trip.. I was unsure why it was recommended but I think maybe the title was why? Ironically that was yesterday after I saw the UEG 1st vid about this in the recommendations column on the side of that mental 2hr rant and is the reason I subbed to UEG, lol. That is irony if I ever saw it. Great work too UEG, this is solid work and I appreciate the work that went into it!
Bullet points of thoughts. (List could probably grow) -The US Flag in Business Casuals Video seemed off and like a passive message. -Wasn't the 2019 thing exactly when Business Casual stopped making videos to make this lawsuit? -The "funnyness" they try to do with the Putin thing is weird and also off putting and feels unprofessional. -The way in which the quotes of this video are read give a straight direction to how to think about "BC". -When I watched RT some time back, they used a lot of footage that I don't think they had/have rights for. -Why the heck is "The Kreml" connected in everything? -I think Business Casual doesn't want to make money out of thin air or anything like that. I think they genuinely believe that what they are doing is right. -The E-Mail could have been fake (no bias, just no way in proofing that) -In "BC" Video there are a lot of "praise the good USA" lines -"BC" repeats himself a bit often -There is a lot of propaganda in russian television (obviously against ukraine and not even well hidden) [not only channels *completely* owned by the government] -The way how the camera was facing Alex and how it changed perspective was familiar (slight tilt from up to down, perspective change at "special" moments) As I was watching "BC's" video the mentioned things felt all off putting, but they got me in their opinion. Now I watched this video and I don't really want to know who to trust so I don't care enough anymore. If Alex thinks he is in the right and for good cause, then it wouldn't be surprising for me that he is sceptic of every single comment that isn't in his favor.(Im from germany with access to russian television by the way, in case of someone wondering) good night :D
Thanks for these two videos on the topic, I saw the video and thought it was odd, brought up some I suppose 'reasonable' points at the time, or at least reasonable in my mind. I just couldn't put my finger on exactly what was so fishy about it, anyway just a general thanks for helping clear this up. 👍
The problem isn’t that RT used the 20 3 second clips, it’s that UA-cam doesn’t want to follow their own copyright policy for deleting all channels of someone with 3 strikes.
I watched it, then he mentioned RT getting unbanned. I got confused and looked up RT on UA-cam, as I thought it got banned. It was nowhere to be found, surprise surprise! I clicked off the video after the confusion subsided.
I'm pretty sure that I wrote a comment there a week ago suggesting it was going a bit too far. I don't see my comment there anymore... What an absolutely horrible thing to do. I see ZERO questioning of him so it's pretty clear all negative comments were removed. First time in a while I broke out a cipher and some writing skill to speak my mind...
Business Casual's video immediately struck me with suspicion because it started with the "this is the video youtube doesn't want you to see" bit, but it was the first video on my home page recommended feed, I had never watched any of their videos, and when I went into the comments, there were a number of others stating that they had been recommended the video as well.
Going to [Legal Eagle] for legal advice is like asking Reddit. If you want a lawyer to cover this crap, you need someone who specializes in Copyright law.
@@alix6xgorg839 what if I told you that legal eagle isn't even in the top 1,000,000 lawyers? Does that also kick you right in the fanboy spleen? It's nice to see both sides of the story. I had forgotten to look at both sides of the situation before coming to a conclusion, and now I can properly decide how I feel about it. Thanks for the informative video.
This will be kind of odd maybe, but BC sound a little bit like, um..., someone who is paid by Russian Intelligence itself to be honest, to create that kind of buzz and shenanigans. It is very Soviet Union style...
I stumbled across this guy's video in my recommended feed a few days ago and just found this video the same way. I didn't finish their video, admittedly, but I got through the first 10 - 15 minutes where they say UA-cam loves and runs off of piracy...? Like... what universe do you live in where that exists? Companies abuse the copyright system to remove or claim videos that are fair use all the time. And if you post a full movie or full TV episodes, that stuff gets nuked almost immediately. I was not aware how batshit their claims got as the video processed, good lord.
also once again corporate channels failing to grasp basic fair use what part of "for the purposes of criticism or commentary" does this guy not get they broke absolutely no copyright laws what so ever
I've been watching you for a while but this video finally convinced me to subscribe. Keep up the good work, we need more people shining lights on things that may not be popular at first mention until further explained and put into context. You've done that brilliantly here.
Business Casual rightfully issued copyright strikes against RT, and UA-cam initially acted according to their regular guidelines and took action against RT, but then went back on their actions on account of their "managed CMS" system. Why is that? As for bad faith actors trying to take down UA-cam channels by issuing false DMCA claims, this has already happened in the past. There have been several UA-camrs that have had their channel terminated after receiving 3 strikes within a matter of hours. UA-cam can't argue that this would happen if BC gets their way, because it already does happen!
> UA-cam initially acted according to their regular guidelines and took action against RT, but then went back on their actions on account of their "managed CMS" system. Why is that? Its just how DMCA works. An alleged infringement along with takedown notice should always be honored as long as the content is hosted in the US. Since the hoster (UA-cam) is legally liable unless they comply. Only when a counter notice is filed that the hoster is exempted and the liability shifted toward the defender (RT). The difference between your run of the mill youtuber and RT is that the former rarely can afford a lawyer, while the latter have a department filled with one. They can shoulder the cost of submiting counter notice (which they did) and goes through lawsuit (which they currently are).
Ooof I needed this video. Fell for BC's pitch hard. What's funny is even if you can't know the specifications of the issue at hand, you can tell who has the truth based on their attitude. People who are usually concerned with controlling what people believe about their narrative are concerned because they don't have the truth in them. Deception is the only weapon they have, and it breaks down as soon as a little truth starts shining through. I thought his reaction from the email was the most telling thing of all of this as someone who doesn't really _know_ what's going on
I think you are assuming alot. This doesn't change the fact that UA-cam worked so hard for a foreign government against a creator. This can happen to ANY CREATOR at this point including UEG
@@EventHoriXZ0n but there are SOME facts both sides have that are pretty iron tight. This is still a case of blatant favoritism on UA-cam's part and I think we'd all be better for it to not ignore this momentum
the number of times people act like they are fighting against oppression and censorship, only for they themselves to do the very thing they say they are claiming to fight against. if i had a dollar for every time i seen this; i'd be rich.
I'll be perfectly honest. When i first saw the BC's video, i was with them for a few point presented. There has been a few complains and controversy about UA-cam's restrictions and having watched them prior to this, i had in my mid it was another UA-cam's bullshit. Because the platform is far from perfect, that's for sure. The content did seemed over-the-top, but in the big lines, what was said made sense to me. I'm just so fucking glad i was able to find your video when i was searching for hearing the "opposition's" argument and PoV. As much as you are not siding directly toward RT and its group, you are calling out the flaws in BC's arguments and i'm thankful for your video. I didn't fully suspected if something was fishy in that 2 hours long, but it's always better to search for both claims and their counter-analysis.
UA-cam recommended his video while I was sleeping, and in my fog I heard the phrase "UA-cam is not respecting its own copyright strike system," at which point my BS detector went into DEFCON 1: no self respecting UA-camr would demand UA-cam unilaterally enforce copyright. If you have a claim, take it to court. Keeping in mind I wasn't watching; just listening, a little while later, I heard him mention his own name -- Business Casual -- and remember seeing your video pop up in my feed, though I didn't watch it because I've never heard of Business Casual. I immediately pulled myself out of bed and flipped over to your video to get a few lolz, and was not disappointed.
I live your work and fundamentally agree with not only your conclusions, but the method by which you reach them.. But I disagree wholeheartedly that UA-cam is or has ever been good for small channels. They literally removed the dislike button to allow huge media companies to push their propaganda and not get disliked into oblivion. Alot of what this guy says is true. YT does hide comments based on trigger words and all sorts of stuff. Whether or not that applies to this guy idk. But I really get tired of watching/hearing huge channels say "we're still shadow banned by the algorithm". (Liberal hivemind with 1 million+ subs).
I still think the video and lawsuits are important. It sets precedence that UA-cam is even more willing to attack creators, but I hate the misinformation on both sides going around. I JUST WANT US TO PROTECT CREATIVES NOT THESE MASSIVE CORPORATIONS UGHHHHH
“I post the truth and you get no fucking say about it whatsoever.” This is the best fucking quote of 2022 hands down. I love when UEG comes back at people. 😎
Not to be rude or anything, but if a company steals my content, and I ask them to remove it and they don't do anything after which I'll ask youtube to do so and they won't do shit, you can expect I'm gonna sue UA-cam full force to enforce Copyright laws.
@@John-lf2hg not sure where your comment is, but I could find it from my notifications at least lol I dont know, and dont care what RT uploads, but lying and misinformation is sadly not part of discord TOS (because discord isnt a news organization) At most, they put a label on vaccine videos to prevent misinformation. I used to watch RT regularly just out of curiosity. It's interesting comparing and contrasting Western and Eastern propaganda outlets. Clearly this guy has his own interests in mind.
If I were the one who edited together and parallax-animated a bunch of photos (a process that I’ve tried before and takes HOURS if not DAYS, btw) I’d be fucking mad if they didn’t even credit me. I say that copyright and censorship rules should ideally apply to everyone on the platform, regardless of wealth. 10 strikes per network that expire in 90 days is just ridiculous IMO, especially because I think strikes on independent channels last a year or so. The fact he's put his entire channel on hold for 2 years to do this is wild too.
I would also like to point out that I've NEVER heard of the channel until the video started showing up in my recommendations constantly over the past week or so.
All sense of rebellion is manufactured. They can crush all of our petty "lawsuits" anytime they want and get away with it too.

Promoting state media is a terrible idea. Independent media sure but China Morningpost is not a reliable source of information.
Ukraine got attacked because of Ukraine, though. They've been killing Russians in eastern Ukraine for a decade and they have a huge nahtsee problem that's been around in power and in the open since the Maidan coup in 2014. And it's directly supported and funded by the United States and the United Kingdom.
The stuff you hear about Ukraine in the west is just as, if not more, propagandistic than what you hear about it in the east.
I'm not as familiar with China and Taiwan, but I doubt it's hugely dissimilar.
@@SirPunch2Face yes and no, ukraine got invaded because of russia plain and simple, russians invaded crimea and forced a referendum, starting a sort of civil war. @@porcus123 Crimea is overwhelmingly Russians, like supermajority levels of the population. Russia didn't have to force them to do anything. It's like if Mexico just declared that Texas was theres, and the US government went in and "forced a referendum" for them to come back to the US. They voted to leave Ukraine because they didn't want to be part of Ukraine, just like the ethnic Russians in eastern Ukraine who have been getting massacred and dehumanized (banning their language, banning teaching about it in schools, banning political parties friendly with Russia, etc) by the Ukrainians for the last near decade.
We're trying to do the exact same thing with Ukraine, except the Soviet Union hasn't existed in 30 years, we aren't enemies with Russia and we're trying to put stuff a whole lot closer to their capitol than the Soviets did to us.

Well put, especially since the main issue with Business Casual seems to be his need to control others in ways he's not entitled to.
Crazy guy does crazy, that's all.

the strike system would work a lot better if it weren't for the fact that a lot of times, youtube has applied all three strikes to someone's channel at once and gotten them instantly terminated. it's basically just 1 strike at that point.

welp UE is the Hero Hei of more serious issue content
More like the Rev Does Desu of current events and Bible prophecy editorials.
Business Casual wants the rules of UA-cam to be applied as they are stated.
They wouldnt get behind such a bad case or so I would think.
Whenever someone comes out of nowhere and is recommended all over you need to question the motives behind it. I think you nailed it.
I wanna say that this is some tinfoil hat conspiracy, but honestly this may very well be true if BC actually win this case lol
LOL You're talking absolute crap.
I had the BC vid recommended to me from the discovery page and I have never seen his channel before. It was a trip.. I was unsure why it was recommended but I think maybe the title was why?
-The E-Mail could have been fake (no bias, just no way in proofing that)
-In "BC" Video there are a lot of "praise the good USA" lines
-"BC" repeats himself a bit often
-There is a lot of propaganda in russian television (obviously against ukraine and not even well hidden) [not only channels *completely* owned by the government]
-The way how the camera was facing Alex and how it changed perspective was familiar (slight tilt from up to down, perspective change at "special" moments)

@@mikafizz1022 all this requires assumptions to form opinions. I’m not a part of the controversy
@@EventHoriXZ0n but there are SOME facts both sides have that are pretty iron tight. This is still a case of blatant favoritism on UA-cam's part and I think we'd all be better for it to not ignore this momentum

I wonder if Busness Casual will sue UEG next🤔
if you pay attention, you can hear Business Casual screams of rage in the horisont after he discover this video was made.
Careful UEG this could be Quantum TV 2.0 I don't want you to get demonitized but you already know how butt hurt people get.
He used so much footage from that video tho
@@atrane365 more like Akilah Obviously. It's a clear critique and no court of law would let it go to trial except to punish BC for their shittery.
How is this business casual guy even able to get the money for all these lawsuits….
He earned by selling his MCN 'PowerTV'
Thanks for this one and the whole coverage
It’s like when you won’t let your little brother take his turn on the game and he burns the entire house down
I live your work and fundamentally agree with not only your conclusions, but the method by which you reach them..
“I post the truth and you get no fucking say about it whatsoever.”
This is the best fucking quote of 2022 hands down.
I agree
Yeah but.. youtube did take it down, hes angry that youtube didnt take diwn every single russian today UA-cam channel for a minor infraction lol
@@thebreadster1500 Yeah but RT is full of lies which goes against UA-cam's Anti Scam policy
@@John-lf2hg not sure where your comment is, but I could find it from my notifications at least lol
I dont know, and dont care what RT uploads, but lying and misinformation is sadly not part of discord TOS (because discord isnt a news organization)
At most, they put a label on vaccine videos to prevent misinformation. I would agree youtube should update their standards to prevent misinformation, but thats not what the lawsuit is about.
8:56 ahhh i got chills down my spine when you came closer to your microphone, and it didnt even need a facecam.
By his logic, Steam is not an American company either. I've been perma-banned from numerous hubs for some of the dumbest stuff. Like questioning MTX in a pay to play game, questioning the nerfs that some game patches included, standing up against the taking of EGS bribes, and once for a PM. A PM for Christ's sake!
Yeah, his logic is complete BS.
Wasn't gaben ready to move up whole thing into nz? I am pretty sure I have seen something about that a year or so ago. Might be some conspiracy though.
@@salty3964,
Who ever told you that was speaking out of their rear end.
@@buckrodgers1162 No, Kotaku and the Verge have stuff on it. Gabe Newell even discussed the rumors himself. The rumors appear to have been started because he declared he was in the process of applying for citizenship in New Zealand.
@@xX_Pokeman_Xx,
Again, they where speaking out of their rear ends. Because guess what, applying for citizenship is entirely different, than the entire upheaval and moving of a corporate HQ.
Besides if you trust anything from Kotaku, or The Verge these days, you might as well start believing all the fecal matter coming from the mouth of 'King Pathological Liar' himself, Donald Douche-bag.
And I was expecting a video about office dress codes.
Their attitude on comment moderation is not admirable, however, which I’ll agree with.
