I agree with Lorenzo’s comment below. My son has the Wilson Clash 100L and I tried using it the other day and it felt very maneuverable and easy to use. I think this is a great racket for a beginner, and easy on the arm.
Hi, Tennis Spin! I watch all your videos (just about...); and, enjoy them! But this is the most practical one for me. Picking the racket that will give me the edge: Give me big and light. But, give me your advise always. When it comes to racket names, you seem to know it all; and I am thankful for your insight on these products.

Currently playing and loving the PureStrike Gen3 16x19. I did try out the Clash but personally didn't like the feel of it but I should try it again sometime. I was torn between the Blade and PS during my last demo period. I do have to disagree with the PureAero for beginners as it's pretty stiff, great spin but control is tough (played APD/PA for years).
Would have been nice to consider pricing/investment for beginners. I would not recommend a beginner to buy a $200+ racket, they should work into that price range as their interest and enjoyment of the sport grows. I would say get something decent for around $100-$150 at most and if you really start developing/enjoying the game start to demo rackets since they, hopefully, would have some proper technique and can really test out different frames.

Getting into tennis this winter when the snow hits. Been playing competitive badminton for 8 years and want to pick up tennis loving the videos! I work in a pro shop too so I can demo anything and everything we have. Definitely biased towards Yonex but that Pure Drive looks great.

Excellent selection! Demo Clash 100 (Pro) with others. The 100 head size feels like 110 on other rackets. String it with full bed of poly it will become a spin monster and super comfy. Personally, the grip feels more rectangle than rounded.
Just moved to the Pro from my old worn-out pre-cortex Aeroprodrives. Very different racquet and a pure joy to play with. As soft as the T-2000s I had as a kid.
Would you still recommend the Wilson Blade today to get a better feel and help develop better stroke method? Also, which one: 16x19 or 18x20? Loved the Pure Drive, and I'll definitely check out that Pure Drive you mentioned here to get more feel.

I‘m using the T-fight 300 XTC 16/19. before i used the Radical mp but i think the Tecnifibre is a Radical in better. I like the feeling more. I love them!

I have used pure drive many years. I developed shoulder sore. I believe its stiffness. I star clash 98. Very comfortable. Easy to swing. It make me change to proper swing. Pure drive is little clumsy to swing. I hope I can use blade to develop good swing. That will good for arm

Hello i am using a microgel 98 head size and 295 g. What do you thing about this racquet? What is the pozitive of a 98 head size according to 100. I started with this rocket than a long break, now i am playing with this same racquet again. I have a Ti S6 and he's kinda right I feel like I'm barely touching the ball and it's flying way far it's actually a little annoying having to play so delicately so I'm looking to grab an ezone 100 and also maybe like actually get good at tennis who knows. Cosmetic is the absolute LAST factor for me and same should be for everyone else. I don't care if it's a pink racquet with Unicorn stickers, if it hits great I want it!
About these recommendations, I don't understand how two completely opposite racquets lol the Pure Drive (71 RA?!) and the Clash (55 RA) could even compare at all for the beginner/intermediate players!
These players absolutely first and foremost need FEEL! Pocketing, flex, "connection" with the ball. Then they can understand what's happening intuitively right off the string bed and DEVELOP their game. It's so much more enjoyable and LESS frustrating when you are actually connected with the racquet.
I would absolutely not recommend these to my friends. I would stick with low RA like Head Gravity or Angell K7 Red or even the Wilson Blade v7 16/19 which you gave an honorable mention.
Absolutely NO ONE new to the game or trying to develop their game should go anywhere near Babolat. Hype company, not the right stick for majority of people 3.0-4.0

@@K4R3N The Clash has a unique design its stiffness is low but the racquet's cross section stiffens up when a ball is hit hard.

Yup... Tried the new Pure Drive.. Much better than the old. Very good racquet. I use a 3rd gen Pure Strike. Found that the new Pure drive sits right in the middle between the old Pure Drive and the 3rd Gen Pure Strike. The new Pure Drive has a feel moving towards the 3rd grn Pure Strike but not as muted. Which should suit most people. For me I love the muted feeling of the PS 3rd Gen.
I wish they had the Yonex Ezone in red color, lol. Good point on just based on brand and cosmetics sometimes.

Anyone if they can share experience of using Tecnifibre 300RS ? I am 37, average built, started playing last year, now looking to move from beginner to a bit intermediate level & looking to buy one racquet for the same. After research on my end my other choices/ options are Head Gravity 360+ MP & Yonex Ezone 100. I am liking Ezone a bit more but m worried it's too stiff ? Gravity is good but seems dull with very less power. So Review of Tecnifibre 300rs here opens up another geniune option . Any suggestions would be great help.

I really liked the that new Technifibre T-Fight, but I couldn't get used to the new Yonex. My son loves that blade v7, but is looking for something more balanced. I'm waiting for the new Pure Drive though...
The Yonex Ezone 98 (not the Tour) has similar specs to the Blade but little bit more head light balance might swing faster for your son versus the Blade
How about the asics bz 100, it is pretty good for the price in my opinion
How can I order a racket from your shop?
I used to sell tennis racquets at Paragon Sporting Goods in NYC. I would not recommend most of these frames to a beginner. They are too stiff and unforgiving for beginners who tend to mishit the ball most of the time. For an intermediate, I would recommend most of them . There are lighter and larger head sizes that would be preferable for beginners, e.g., the Wilson Clash oversize (I agree with your recommendation of the Clash Light), the Babolat Pure Drive 107 or 110, the Wilson Blade 104, the Head Graphene 360+ Extreme S or Lite, the Radical S and the Head Graphene 360 Instinct Lite. My top picks for beginners would be the Head Gravity MP and Gravity S or Lite because they are forgiving frames and they can move up to an intermediate level and not have to invest in a new frame. I would never recommend that a beginner string their frame with polyester string. Some beginners will insist on looking at frames for advanced players because they believe that no one will want to play with them if their racquet telegraphs they are a beginner. Do your best to talk them out of that mindset and into a frame that will make the game easier and more fun to play. If you sense the customer is lying about their skill level - insisting they are good players but seem to have no idea what they are talking about - then ask them how they hold the racquet to hit a forehand. If they don't lay the wrist back or hold a backhand grip or if they swing the racquet stiff armed and don't turn their shoulders then they are really total beginners and you have to make the appropriate frame recommendation. When I bought my first racquet, the store recommended too tight a string tension. So, I do agree to go with the mid tension suggested by the manufacturer.
What would you recommend from yonex for “entry level” intermediates? I’ve been looking at the Yonex EZONE 100L and it seems like a good pick although I’m wavering between that and babolat racquets
@@kaesiy2857 Hi. The EZONE 100L seems like a sound choice. You can add a leather grip and some lead tape at the 3 and 9 o'clock positions later on to make it heavier as you improve. Since it's a light and very stiff racquet with a 68 RA, don't string it too tight. I suggest you string it with a multifilament or a synthetic gut at mid tension; maybe add 1-2 lbs. to the multifilament to tame the power those strings have. Avoid the stiff polyester strings until you improve and remember to drop the tension on poly strings by about 10%. I like the Yonex over the Babloat - even though it's more expensive - because the isometric head shape makes the main strings nearly the same length which really increases the stability of the racquet and gives a more consistent response.

@@kaesiy2857 Yonex recommends stringing that frame between 45 and 60 lbs. That is a very big window! Which synthetic gut will you be using and what is its thickness (AKA gauge, e.g., 15, 16, 17, 18)? [The lower the number, the thicker the string; the higher the number, the thinner the string. Thick strings last longer; thin strings are more powerful and offer more spin but are less durable. The letter "L" after the number indicates it is a little thinner than the standard gauge.] For durability and playability, I would suggest a 16 or a 16L gauge. It seems to me that 50 is too loose. I think the lower 45 lb. string recommendation is for polyester strings and that for syngut and multifilaments the actual tension range is 50 to 60. Since it's a light frame and you will be using a syngut, I suggesting going with either 52 or 53 lbs.
Just went through a demo program featuring all those racquets. Yonex EZONE 100 was the hands-down winner. That said…buy whatever racquet you want for your own reasons. The important thing is that you get out on court and have fun.

My experience with the Head Ti.S6 and Ti.S5 is a little different. I find that they are *so* light that there is no plow through, meaning that they have less power than a modern stiff but heavier racquet, not more. You can swing them quickly because of the low weight, but there is no mass either. (f=m*a) It's true that beginners like them because they're light and easy to just poke the ball, but I think more experienced players can use them to generate tons of spin with the right technique and the ball will stay in the court nicely.

Try a good syn gut like Gamma TNT2, Head syn gut pps, or Tourna syn gut armor, or a budget multi filament like Head velocity mlt. String at it the middle of the recommended tension, or a couple of pounds lower for the racquet you're using. That should work fine. Later, move to a hybrid with a poly in the mains, then to a softer full poly like gamma moto soft 17, or head lynx tour 17. To start, for each string at the middle recommended tension, or a couple of pounds lower.
dont use syn gut. There are so many better strings on the market now.
Currently Im using a hybrid, soliinco confidential 16l on the mains at 54 and nxt 16l on the crosses at 57. Works and feels great and i am rapidly improving my groundstrokes and can now spin the ball. On an old head liquidmetal 4 racquet.

hmmm, i always thought of the cheaper / lighter racquets as beginner racquets. who's gonna invest that much in a first racquet? im advanced and have been using the pure drive for a decade now. thinking about the clash just for something less stiff, comfort, spin and to switch up when i want. hope you do a video on more advanced racquets and why you consider them to be so.

100L is 280grams in weight & 100UL is 265grams in weight.
Other specs are almost same.....just depends on how heavy u want......like clash 100 is 295 grams.

I am literally in the exact same situation as you. I played with the Ultra 100 CV for a while and want to change up a bit. Some racquets that I’m considering right now are the Clash, Blade, Pure Strike, and some of the Yonex racquets. But I also think waiting until 2021 is a pretty good option too.
I stopped playing 10 yrs ago. What racket do you recommend that feels close to the Prince Graphite?
I also used to play with the second gen pure drive but i feel most comfortable with the Graphite.
IMO just pick up a Graphite again, I use a Phantom pro 93p and love it, caution though it is low powered and unforgiving with its 93 head size if you cant generate your own power get a bigger head size but if you can generate your own power and dont mind smaller head size it is amazing, all the control you could want and if you pair it up with natural gut which I recommend you get plenty of power too and the natural gut will last quite a while in a small dense pattern such as 93 with 18x20 especially if you hybrid with a soft co poly like alu power soft/4g or Volkl V-Torque.
Head gravity pro. Same type of feel, less heavy. Maybe better for you now.
