Thanks for doing this! After working in some really nice coffee shops for years, I'm ready to get a machine in my home. This is a pretty affordable one. Also, can't help myself and wanted to offer you a few tips that may help: If you time your shots (closer to 25-30 seconds) you'll get a more balanced espresso shot (less bitter). I'm not sure how big the porter filter is or how much espresso you are putting in but weighing the input and output is another way to build consistency and inform you on where the perfect shot is. The grind setting looks good, which I can tell because it's dropping at a good time (about 5-7 seconds after you start the water). But it may still be a little fine if you need to run it for over 45 seconds to complete the shot. Your milk does look good! With the 3 holed steam wand, you're getting more aeration out of it and into the milk. Try to aerate it less. Give it a few hits of that sound you talked about and then when you start to see the milk sticking to the wand, submerge it and make that milk vortex. Just a little less aeration and I think you would have the consistency you're looking for. Super impressed with your basics! Keep it up.
wow, thank you for this great comment ! After playing around and using this machine for half a year I think I pretty much got the hang of it now. I appreciate your help :)
Invest in a dosing cup or dosing funnel, it can help with mess. Also a single dose grinder can keep ur beans fresher and a Wdt tool can break up clumps to reduce channeling
that was probably the only bad thing I experienced with it. Maybe just need some more practice since its a way stronger steam wand than other espresso machines.
You let your shot run Wayyyyyy too long and that's probably the reason for the weak flavor..I'd get some sort of scale that measures in grams and try a 2:1 ratio..Meaning like 18 grams of ground coffee to let's say 36-38 grams of Espresso in your cup..

First pitcher under-stretched, second over-stretched (hence it's thick). Also scales and WDT -> get some 😀✌🏻❤️
Sweet video, post an update if you dial in the steam technique
I actually did recently, maybe ill post a vid !

thats what I was thinking, maybe a niche grinder. I see many people like those. than you!
Ayyyy Peaks!!
peaks is great!
Seems like the performance is severely lacking if it can't do a great job with the milk.

Nice vid! How did the expresso taste vs the Breville?
thanks! way better for sure. once you get the shots dialed in they are very consistent unlike the breville which would always be different.

thanks for the advice ! I have gotten the shots pretty dialed in. Now time to get a new grinder haha
Tbh that shot ran for about 38 seconds atleast which is way too long for a good shot. That’s why it is watery
Hi,
I’m thinking of getting this machine, but wondering if It will be hard to fill the water tank, it being in the back and under the kitchen cabinet?
No not too hard, pull the machine forward and I like to pour it with a different vessel such as a kettle. Not an issue.
