- Comedy and screen legend Richard Pryor hits the comedy road in Moving, a good-time tale of a flustered suburbanite trying to relocate with his family from New Jersey to Idaho. Dave Thomas, Dana Carvey and Randy Quaid are among the comic ensemble in this movie that packs "a houseful of laughs" (V.A. Musetto, New York Post). Next, Pryor has a driving ambition in Greased Lightning, the decades-spanning true story of Wendell Scott, who cracked the all-white world of stock-car racing, built cars from junkyard parts, endured taunts, overcame setbacks and won NASCAR and Grand National crowns. "There's not a more likable movie currently on view," Time reviewer Richard Schickel wrote about this biopic that marks Pryor's first lead film role.
One of favorite movies as a kid. RIP Richard Pryor and Cleavon Little
I saw this at the drive-in as a little kid. I remember liking it. Unfortunately, I wasn't old enough to truly appreciate Pam Grier.
She was so sexy and attractive in this movie.
I love it when he goes over the fence and the Guy says we're gonna need a wrecker. Then Here he comes back on the track
Imortal great movie 🎬 🏆💯 2024 we still here
Cleavon and Richard in a movie together! When I watched blazing saddles I said to myself that I'd of loved seeing them in a movie together... Pryer to this Little did I know they actually made a film! I'm a motor sport fan, I love a gd laugh at hypocrisy, and at a ripe age I've never seen nor heard of this film before today! I can't wait to watch it 😁
When they made this movie they used the dirt track in my home town in Winder Ga . in Barrow Country . They still use race cars on that dirt track in the summer time . I haven't watched this movie in a long .
Scott was prolly the best driver on the circuit, but racism, & the inability to get sponsors & new equipment, held him back. Still, he finished top 10 over 100 times. Unlike in the movie though, the one race he DID win, NASCAR cheated him out of the winner's circle. Later that night, after everyone was gone, they admitted to him that he won, & gave him the first-place money, but no trophy.....until after his death. R.I.P. Mr. Scott.
They still haven’t given him the trophy actually
Susan St.Denis they did (finally) watch the ESPN documentary on here about Wendell.
@@Bag0fRats took them like 50 years for one trophy :|
They were worried he would get lynched. Which there was a lynching posse going after him if they announced he won I believe.
This was a great movie even if it was a little embellished. I remember when I was a kid I loved it. Richard Pryor is hilarious too.
What? Racism is never embellishing, but maybe your ability to withstand the real is.
I saw this movie as a kid and it set the tone for my life.
Richard Pryor Grew up in Peoria Illinois. An hour to an Hour and a half from my place. There was interviews with his Teachers and Stuff I watched. They all had 1 thing to say and they didn't mix words.Richard Pryor was not a Dummy he was a Person that knew what he wanted and went after it.That one Old Lady Teacher said he was a Very Funny Person and had alot of his Class Mates Laughing in no time.God Rest his Soul
Funny, i also used to live that far from Peoria
The racing scenes in this movie are better than 95% of racing movies I’ve seen…
A couple of days ago CNN had a story about NASCARS first black driver” Willie T Ribbs”. I laughed my bottom end off! Even now Wendell is being short changed. You want to talk about racism and being treated unfairly. Bubba doesn’t have a clue
Don't ya mean CIA? CNN is a propaganda machine for the "rulers" they like fluffy cloud stories to appeal to that basic of human nature whilst they kill and destroy an idea or identity that shows just how fucked up their system really is. I'm a motor sport fan who in his ignorance thought that Lewis Hamilton was the 1st black guy to be gr8 @ motor sport. Only today did I hear of Wendell, I'm not ashamed to say that, I'm glad to be able to learn about him and his talent. A black man that beat the white man at his own game is a beautiful thing, given the time's he lived in, he has some set of testicles 😂
CNN? Coming from J&^$@^(h crackheads.....WTF do they know about anything black.
🎉 Such a great movie ‼️🍿
Very glad to still be able to watch a movie about a hometown hero.
The real Wendell Scott was actually in the movie.
Dirt track scenes were filmed in Winder GA...I lived and grew up their about 3 miles from the track
Scott Wheeler I think some scenes were shot in Athens speedway, but they abandoned it in 92
His best movie IMHO
Wendell used to race in my hometown years ago.
Wow, I recall seeing the only black dude in the group Sha Na Na in this movie....also......Richie Havens from the 1969 Woodstock performance of "Freedom" which was also played in the movie Django.
People love to make money & movies some time stray from the true facts at times but like the foundering fathers of the US who put their head on the line for freedom Wendell is in the same class of men and a true hearo someone we should look up to someone to give kids a light in life to help guide there path for those to come not out of hate, greed just out of hard work and fair play
A true US hearo from the point he works hard and did his best for those he loved even in the face of hate at times
the kids of person we should all be
This Film was a true story
My dad Dean Helmreich was in that movie, he was in the crowd saying bad things.
I dont think the young Kids today understand the odds he faced.I agree alot has changed in the Civil Rights and more needs done. But if he would had quit at the first sign of Problems you would have never knew his name.I watched Wendell talk one time in an interview he said there were Gas Stations that wouldn't sell them Gas.He Didn't turn around and go home he stayed the Course. Now you see you can do anything if you put your mind to it.Ive said the same thing for years mote needs done.Stay the Course and don't give up.
Amazing
this movie was hilarious
I loved that Movie.I can watch it 100 times
The WB (frog voice)
My parents took me to see that a couple of times.
The trailer voice over makes it sound as if this movie is a dramatic biopic about prejudice and perceverance but the trailer images show a slapstick dumb comedy.
Hey how bout watching it? It’s a very good movie, and it’s pretty inspirational too; sure it’s got it’s funny bits, but it’s mostly about him overcoming hardcore racism. I guarantee you’ll understand once you actually see it.👍🏽
A real America heroes 😀😃
A 1974 dodge charger in the movie is for sale on ebay right now...They claim the car was in the movie ! They are asking 77k ! As usual in these inflation times the price is to high ! But I think it's worth a good solid 40k to the right buyer.....
Now I see where Tarantino got his inspiration frorm 🤣😆
mi piace tantissimo a voi
I will even fight beside you if you want. But let's do it the right way Everybody.Dont give them to hold everything over your head.Thats the Ammo they need.
Could have, should have been a Branch Rickey Jackie Robinson moment for NASCAR. Missed their chance to go National right there.
!
Ps Much Gratitude
I think this was the ONLY film Pan didn’t taker her top off, lol! ~_~
Who's here after Bubba Wallace's win? :D
pay a dead man to see his work.....what the hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let Me guess, WB had taken all the struggles & racist life facts of Wendell Scott & left it out of this movie...👎💩
Nah it's. Good movie
Obviously you didn’t watch it...this is a good ass movie.👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Here’s a biopic from ESPN on him. No man did more with less than this man.

What exactly is an "Ass Movie"?
It’s when you stick your head in a bathtub and your friend drops in a toaster, and your other friend films it. 😂Thanks for playing!
movie that inspired *sex pistols*
