In Brazil, it's called "pudim"
It should be called flan in any culture that derives from Roman Empire.
Since Philippines were taken by Spain for centuries you use the Roman word for flat cake. Flan. It’s also uniquely made in many cultures with mild variations. My grandma makes the best hands down
We call that pudding in Japan.
In Brazil It's called pudim and is a very tradicional dish here in Brazil

I am using for cream caramel; -
1 condencen milk tin, 5 eggs, 5 table spoon sugar, water half tin & 1lime juice. Mix all well without egg lumps and steam with caramel.
