The reason Apple isn't getting backlash is because the user is explicitly asking Siri to scan the screen and do the task whereas Recall is just taking screenshots all the time. Apple is doing what Google's Circle to Search did, when you summon Circle to search, you are explicitly asking Google to scan your screen and do some action.
The difference is explicit and implicit data access.

I think a lot of the reason people are not freaked out about Siri screen awareness, in addition to apples, general track record. Is that, from my understanding, Siri is only aware of what’s on your screen while it’s on your screen. They are not storing screenshots for months, rather just allowing their on device AI to interact with what’s on the screen currently.
All of this aside, why is there no backlash when deleted photos reappeared on iPhones? Why are they still there when they’re deleted? How did they even come back (and from where)? I am very surprised as to how there’s absolutely not much discussed about this. I’m saying this while being a complete Apple device guy
Thank you for mentioning Recall. I had the same thoughts as you as to why Microsoft got a lot of backlash and people don't seem to care about privacy when it comes to Apple. I guess this is why marketing is as much important as the product itself and Apple is the best when it comes to marketing.

But Apple isn't collecting and data/screenshots from your activities like Zoom calls, it's only see the text data from that calls. And it's only searching between the existing things.. i mean you technically also can read that 5000 email if you break into the device, the AI just do it faster.. but Microsoft even collecting all valuable info to one place, meanwhile Apple do nothing just search in the contents, they are not collecting anything to the same place with a huge mark "hey hackers, steal this, and you have all the datas"..

@@RunForPeace-hk1cu privacy is not something any of these organizations can guarantee. Remember the infamous apple leaks? They have improved, but so did the others. Don't you think companies know the importance of privacy?. The thing is how they communicate things to customers. Apple is maybe the best company that communicates their technology to just what the customer needs to know. I am a copywriter, content writer and digital marketer, whenever I watch an apple keynote and those of other big corporations, I understand how differently apple puts it. I, in fact, use apple's marketing tactics to improve ad copies that i write for my clients. They all do well.

I've ALWAYS longed for a personal "Secretary" to help me with reminders of appointments and "all me" relevant daily information, ideas, and timely reminders. It sounds like Gemini is almost there, but Apple Intelligence has a way to go yet. The fact that they are incorporating a "private instructor" too is just kick-ass! I'm tempted to get the Pixel 9 Pro XL now, but I may wait and see what Google and TSMC have in mind for the Tensor 5G and Pixel 10? I am also curious to see if Apple Intelligence can pull everything "in-house" and do AI right?
You have a refreshing perspective on how Apple and Google implement AI in their hardware. I agree that Google is not far behind Apple in terms of features. They simply have different approaches to implementation and presentation. Apple's focus is on marketing, while Google prioritizes functionality. In my opinion, Google's implementation is more versatile. We've already seen Google's features in action, while Apple's is still in the demo stage. Apple's AI may look good on paper, but real-world applications will tell the tale.

Indeed, that was the essence of my previous message.
If we really want to get into the grits in terms of functionality and usability, some of the features mentioned aren't even going to be implemented until a few months after iOS 18 is completely released. By that time, Google's own Gemini AI will be more refined. It only took Apple a few years or maybe even a decade to implement some of the features that Android already has. Although, it seems that Apple is taking the hint on AI and seemingly is trying to catch up which I applaud.

I wouldn’t say crushed, but certainly has made iOS more parity to Android for features and customization. I think they’re overall narrowing the gap when it comes to differences between the two, and it’s overall great for those who are considering switching from Android to iOS. That or satisfying those on iOS who have been wanting more options for so long.
I know this is mostly about the AI aspect of what Apple announced, but I figured I might as well mention the other things they’re bringing with iOS 18 as I find them very good as well.
Once RCS hits iPhones that will make the jump MUCH easier in either direction, which is probably why they hated to do it since a lot of people might just leave

With shortcuts app and app intent and apple intelligence plus developers support...goodluck to android. 5-8 best selling smartphone models globally has been iPhone and inky cheap android get in the top 10 and sometimes in 5 years, a flagship samsung comes in top 10

According to North America techies, Apple does no wrong. See how everyone is quiet about Apple AI and went crazy with MS recall? 🤯. Privacy lol , just last month with iOS 17.5 old pictures were resurfacing and no bet an eye. It's weird to watch from the outside. Android will always be ahead of Apple in everything phone wise. iOS 18 is just basically Android at this point
Than why Android throwing away their "great" ideas and copy the Apple method after Apple implemented it..? I mean where is your 120Hz now, why do you have the Apple invented LTPO 120Hz..? Why Apple was the first who increased the default image size to 24MP after they increasd the camera lens from 12MP to 48MP, and Android with 200MP lens still only shoot 12MP images.. and there are tons of this, when Android throwing away their beta version after Apple shiwed how they should use it (so not just putting inside the more expensive hardware to raise the price, but they find a way to use it better with software too..)

I buy my iPhone 15 4 months ago, and know Apple is just releasing its new iOS features AI only to the 15 Pro and Pro Max, after having an iPhone 8, 11, 13 and 15 I'm seriously thinking to change to Samsung S24, they released their AI features to the old models the s23 the cheapest hi line model and the S22 ultra, 2-year model. Know Galaxy is offering updates to almost 7 years, changing the OS is not a huge deal for me.

looks like you are new here. Privacy where mobile and computer companies are involved just doesn't exist. Just because Apple loyalists are fine with giving their data to their user-product company doesn't mean it's safe.

I love apple and moved from android to iPhone since iPhone 5. I always try and find a way to justify going back to android but I just can’t. I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max…. I will 100% be upgrading to iPhone 16 Pro Max.

The problem is - Apple AI is not there yet, and to EU it comes like in a couple of years. Copilot and Gemini are there to use

I don't know all this AI stuff, some of it is relevant and then again it's just pure crappy marketing. Where is Final Cut 10.8? That's still missing today 😂. Anker is always. A good invest

Great video as always. I’ve been buying anker for about seven years as well. It’s quality product.
What I find interesting is the decision to use OpenAI as a choice but it's also just an integration and what I appreciate about that is if another company does it better then it could usurp OpenAI's position as the alternative siri recommends. This would also be true for if OpenAI does something Apple disagrees with within its core principles (privacy) that it can drop it and move to another company.
Truly, a lot of exciting features were announced at this WWDC. I look forward to seeing how the developer betas advance over time before it hits public release.

To copy the hardware and software is required more than a half year (because AI also need a hardware, by the way Apple runs the AI mostly localy, meanwhile Android mostly use server based AI, which required a monthly subscription after one year, but because of theblimited server request Apple AI is free)..
Just check the Snapdragon X Elite how many times is required to copy something, that is the answer to the M1 but release after the M4.. this is when you want to steal something which is not just a small feature but a bounch of things, more than justba few months required for that..

Also download emulator amd play ps2, Nintendo games with emulator for free.I can watch and download movies,songs for free amd screen mirror my phone with tv in an instant. Use my phone as remote for AC and tv's on android. I am never giving up android
