You’re not just another person to me 🥹 this comment made me tear up
Thank you so much for saying that and being here
Can’t wait to keep making more things you (hopefully) like!!
Craig (a.k.a. 'Hair Force One') is the only Apple executive I can stand to listen to. He sounds, at least most of the time, like a real person. Bravo, Jacklyn!
Thank you so much for watching this one!! And agree he’s amazing ! Fun conversation
@@NBTJacklyn You're the best, keep up the great work!
@@djross95 u are 🙏🏻 thank u!
I agree. I just watched MKBHD's interview with Tim Cook and to me it was a struggle. It seems obvious he is always scripted and won't give any honest opinions. Craig on the other hand seemed super authentic and enthusiastic about the products they are putting out. The lack of empathy from Tim when people ask him questions about integration with other os (like android or windows) also bothers me.
He is genuine, been emailing him for a decade, yeah he does write back, self deprecating, funny, he definitely should be next CEO
Hi!

Craig is hands down the most engaging Apple Exec and demonstrates a deep deep knowledge. Best interview I've seen all week from WWDC, of these short format PR opps 👏🏻
🙏🏻
can Apple shareholders petition the board to name Craig as Tim’s successor? amazing combo of technical acumen and communicator
I really like Craig, he seems really down to Earth and like he genuinely enjoys his job, not just his position.
Congrats on having the opportunity to interview Craig Federighi. I think, you have done a very good job. It‘s nice to see Craig‘s passion and enthusiasm for what he does.
Thank you so much and agree was infectious!
This was truly great to see. I love hearing from Craig more than Tim. Wish Craig was CEO more imo.
I used to work on the Executive Support IS&T team. He was an absolute gentleman. Extremely genuine, even when he’s mad he still maintains this personality. He never blames someone else, he owns everything he is involved with. I would be blown away if he ISN’T the next CEO of Apple.
I have seen several of these interviews, and I really enjoyed your thoughtful questions that dig a little deeper to the process and reflection of everything leading up WWDC.
Great job!

the most genious move from apple is that their hardware matters again. for quite some time their devices were more than good enough and there was no real reason to upgrade them for years. now, the hardware is getting relevant again to how much of that on device AI stuff it can handle. the more compute you get on the device, the more it can handle on the device. this wont stop anytime soon. so i guess this revitalizes their hardware segment from the ground up.
So Awesome!!!! I been following you for a long time and have watched your progression I am very proud of you! Great interview and I am so happy for you. Thanks to Craig for taking the time to sit with you

I really was hoping he would be next CEO
He is the only Apple guy I like.
I want that hair prop he used.
That was a very powerful, “…tell me…,” mentioned toward the end of this interview. A bit fast of an interview. It seems a as if certain channels intentionally speed up their conversations to save-up cloud space for UA-cam at least. Having to go to settings to change speed of playback is tedious. I’m not sure if I meant to subscribe or not. Amazing post of a video however.
Thank you so much!! Wanted to try to make the conversation as expansive as possible but this is great feedback thank you I appreciate you!!

Craig seems like a genuine dude. His enthusiasm doesn't seem forced.
Yeah, this rich executive had years of practice to be able to spew out safe, lawyer scripted corporate bullshit and make it sound like he genuinely cares about it and that it's his words.
@@JamesR624 😂
@@JamesR624is it really that hard to believe that the higher up’s are the most enthusiastic about what they do? Aren’t you enthusiastic about what you do?
@@JamesR624you sound like a hater, seeing as you'll probably never even get to touch anything close to an executive😂
@@JamesR624op doesn’t think the rich have emotions
Craig's such a credit to Apple. So personable yet unafraid to get into the weeds on details. A cut above most execs for sure. His enthusiam for the new dev tools makes me want to go back to coding on the Mac.
Make him the next CEO?
@@BobbyStef 100%. Marques Brownlee interview with Tim Cook was kinda dead compared to this one
I think Craig Federighi is the next CEO of Apple. He talks about everything as if it were his favorite toy. With such love, with childish genuine interest. This can be seen in the eyes, in the movements of the hands, in the facial expressions. I want him to become the next CEO.
Thank you very much to Tim Cook, he raised Apple to the skies.
I think so too. I think Apple's biggest issues to tackle are software related more so than anything else. Tim Cook to me is just a suit...a supply chain guy ultimately and doesn't exude any passion or strong goals for Apple beyond selling hardware and what that alone involves. I think Apple needs someone like Federighi to push and expand things but with passion.
He’s a much better spokes person than Timmy C. to represent Apple. Plus those acrobatics in the stair well is inspirational ; )
Doesnt want to do it
I think there is already someone else lined up. I think he is great in the division he is in. You can tell he is passionate about software
Everybody would like him to be, but it's not happening, he has been clear about it, and almost everyone agrees that the next CEO will be John Ternus, who is another very nice guy too (he is the one in charge of hardware, the one who presents new Macs and iPads)
not to trash Marques, because, of course, he's the GOAT, but this Apple interview was sooo much better. A lot due to Craig being so charismatic and Tim Apple being soooo uptight in his answers (that magic mouse moment made me wanna just skip the video), but kudos to Jacklyn for keeping such an upbeat vibe and being so cool too! Subscribing right now!
There is a set list of questions that they can ask Tim so that’s why he always appears methodical in his answers - Maybe Craig doesn’t have that limitation with questions he can be asked - but Jacklyn should be able to confirm or deny that
Same, the way how he talked about the magic mouse being ergonomic was such horsesh*t.
@@Ferno209 I think he just straight up forgot what the mouse was and had to say something
That is more on Tim not Marques. Tim just isn't very authentic, Marques is usually great with interviews (like the one with the Rivian CEO).
Uhh don’t you think comparing 2 different interviewers interviewing 2 completely different people is kind of a useless comparison?
Craig is no joke my role model
#1 hair role model
Jokes aside, he’s a great guy
I love this interview. I wish it was longer it flew by.
Thank you so much 🥹🙏🏻 so grateful you liked it!! Would def be down for a longer convo
I love Craig. I really hope he takes over when Tim steps down.
But they would need to find someone to replace him. That might be harder.
Will not happen, Tim and Craig are about the same age
@@Kanal-zh4ro Craig is like 9 years younger then Tim, check Wikipedia
Great man is Craig I’d love to see him as the next CEO.
What makes this man special isn’t just how brilliant he is at his job, but it’s his persona, and how he communicates. This is a true sign of a gifted leader. Instantly likeable. He is a great choice for CEO after Tim.
His face at 3:54 is so priceless, trying to act serious but underneath desperately trying to resist smirking. Would love to see those extra couple of frames.
I had to rewatch this part. And what I see is the meme of Christian Bale’s face in American Psycho. 😂

Thank you for asking that last question. It's easy to feel distant from the executives, or for them to always be a spokesperson, but just watching someone get excited about something they care about it always fun. Especially if they're not restricted by an NDA to talk about it.
Yay I feel exactly the same way thank you so much so glad that resonated for u too!
Watching interviews with Craig Federighi is so refreshing to the ones with Tim Cook. Crag is so passionate. You almost fall asleep when Tim speaks his slow corporate phrases.
This guy is 100% dedicated to Apple.
Craig has the best personality I've ever noticed in any person
I wish Craig was the next CEO of Apple, but i don't think it will happen..
He should be the next CEO just based on how unbelievably charismatic he is. And i think the prospect of having someone technical as the leader could be beneficial to Apple.
Wow congrats on a huge interview!
Thank u so much Mike!! So much fun
Nice to see someone in his level saying “learn to code” and not something like “in 5 years there will be no developers”. Great video.
Great interview! I gotta say Craig and Tim (just watched MKBHD’s interview as well) are really good at taking a question and turning it into an answer that sells some current feature Apple is pushing (that really had nothing to do with the question). But you were asking some good questions. 😊
Nowadays youtubers are just corporations middlemen . And they are happy to be used as such
Craig seems like a nice guy
She must be a really easy date if she can get that excited over a calculator app. She should have asked some more important questions like how many more rainbow wallpapers and watch bands can you develop. My 7 year old 10.5 inch iPad Pro that I paid $800 for in 2017 does everything that the new iPad pros do in 2024. I guess all the research and development was put into planning for the gay parade in San Francisco and how many more rainbows and emojis they could incorporate into the Apple ecosystem to push that agenda on the public.👨❤️💋👨👬👨❤️💋👨🫃🏼🫄🌈🏳️🌈👨🏾❤️👨🏾👭👈👀
A nicely structured interview that felt like a natural conversation. Well thought out questions, a memorable callback (the calculator app), and a fun but meaningful last question to close things out. Really enthusiastic vibes and positive energy overall. Crisply edited.
Agree with some other commenters - it just flew by.
Thank you so much I’m so grateful and stoked you liked it 🙏🏻🥹
Once again proof that the people who actually work with the code and are familiar with the matter, are more interesting to talk to than the CEOs and public relations people in tech companies.
Yeah, they're familiar with the product and all the relevant questions. The CEO and marketing are more familiar with the business and all of its relevant questions. The problem is that a business isn't a product. All Tim Cook has to know is that Craig is good at his job, and he can keep him there. Not necessarily what the next big thing is. Leadership should develop talent. Talent is what builds the future.
This interview provides a fascinating insight into Craig’s unique interaction style. His gaze often seems to be focused on the distance, rather than on the person he’s conversing with. While this might seem unusual, it could be indicative of his deep immersion in the realm of software development. He doesn’t appear to be a public relations-oriented individual; instead, he comes across as somewhat reserved. However, this shyness does not detract from his persona. On the contrary, it underscores his authenticity and his exceptional skills as a software developer. His ability to remain true to himself is, arguably, one of his greatest strengths.
Autistic girl instead of ijustine is always a plus in my book. Also for Apple marketing budget
anyone else watch Don't Look Up? he reminds of the space station director LOL

Can you imagine him as CEO of Apple! Probably the most passionate and fun CEO compared to many others around. Working for him would be awesome and the excitement in his meetings!
If he becomes the next ceo I’d be glad he seems like Steve Jobs but nicer . He’s so enthusiastic for this company . I really enjoy seeing him talk . Great interview
